Upgrading Your Ram Can Improve Performance In Streets Of Tarkov

In this video I go over the weird niche issue I was having with my performance in EFT. Namely the processor heavy maps like Streets and LH. On Average I gained about 10-14 FPS across the map and have smoother performance with much less stuttering.

Honestly I'm surprised with the quality of testing and content level from such a small channel. I also upgraded my ram from 16gb to 32gb and observed my fps increase from 40fps to about 60fps in maps like streets and lighthouse.

Nice! Yea the ram was a huge bottle neck for myself so I figured I’d share since most people don’t pay much attention to their ram

IMPORTANT NOTE: Getting this upgrade helped my performance on the huge maps; but the maps that already ran super well (factory/customs/etc) didn’t see any real performance increase

Hey dude, I don't know for certain but this could have something to do with Vram. 8gb at least for me wasn't enough on streets in 1080p and when the game requires more than what you have it uses up your non vram ram and creates stutters and other performance issues. So increasing the amount and speed of your ram certainly does help but is a band aid to a larger issue. And I only think that as I have a rx 6750xt which should be worse than the 3080 but has +4gb of vram and I get 0 stuttering issues and almost never dip under 80 fps on highest settings 1080p, that being said I do have a r7 7800x3d which certainly helps

And I just hopped into a streets scav run to make sure I had an accurate number for you but playing at 1080p with maxed out settings I am currently using 11.6gb of vram

@@Nilhero yea I play on medium settings and never pass 8.8 gb of VRAM so my normal ram was a huge bottle neck

Lmfao obviously upgrading hardware will help but typically ram is not the first thing on someone’s mind
