You can hear the rest of the litter in the background playing. One or two of them are crying because they want a drink off their momma but she is weening them and doesn't want them to drink from her any longer. Most dachshunds hate being bathed so I found this amusing to watch their reactions for the first time.

Everytime I got the shampoo and towels my mini/standard daschund Fritz would hide under the bed, he knew that it was time for his bath! The good part, Mom ( me was waiting for him when he thought it was safe and he came out! I won, nut it became a game for him! Miss him so much!

Unless it's a Labrador Retriever, this is pretty much every dog's reaction to a bath. "This is torture! I'm dying!" Then afterwards, there's the reproving side-eye.

We have a cheweenie, dashun mixed with chuwawa, though her features are more of the dashun and she's as adorable and loveable as your pups are. They love attention and are great pets. My friends have two Doxies. A five yr old and a 2yr old both minis. The 5yo loves baths and tries to climb into the tub any time "mommy" is soaking in it. The 2yr old not so much. He runs away and tries to hide when he even suspects that it's bath time.

I think it''s important to understand that Dachsies are not very good swimmers, their short legs and long bodies don't make for very good bouyancy...kinda why you don't see them used as retrievers, eh? This being the case, it's important the water be shallow, like shown, and the towel trick mentioned elsewhere is an excellent idea. I too love this breed, but I would just like to caution they're not the dog for everyone. Dachsies are incredibly intelligent and creative, so don't match up too well with the 'obedeience is everything' type dog owner. If you want obedience above all else, get a German Shepherd! I miss my dogs a lot, but circumstances are such that I'm just not able to give them what they need to be happy.
Very true! Always watch them around water or better still put a life jacket on them. They aren't your average dog by any means, more like toddlers in fur coats lol. They are very smart, demanding and manipulative but so loving and loyal. They do need a lot of time and training to keep them happy and well behaved.

Kein Hund muss gebadet werden, nur wir Menschen meinen Das.
*Aus der Sicht des Hundes nimmt man ihm sogar die sorgsam angehäuften Gerüche weg, daher mögen Hunde Baden meistens überhaupt nicht, dagegen in einem Tümpel, oder Teich Herumplantschen um so mehr ;)*
*Das ist auch der Grund, warum Hunde nach dem Baden ihren Körper in der ganzen Wohnung z.B. an der Wand, Möbel, oder dem Teppich reiben, um den Rudelgeruch wiederzubekommen, denn ein Hund der sauber ist, der ist in den Augen anderer Hunde und auch aus seiner Sicht, ein NIEMAND, erst der Geruch macht einen Hund aus dir, daher beschnüffeln sie sich ja auch immer so ausgiebig, das ist wie eine Tageszeitung lesen und wer gebadet wurde, den kann man nicht mehr lesen, der ist ein weißes Blatt Papier geworden, nicht so toll für einen Hund ;)*
*Ich vergleiche das auch immer ganz gerne mit einem Spielstand von einem Computerspiel, wenn man einem Kind alle Spielstände seiner Spiele von der Playstation löscht, ist es genauso sauer, wie ein Hund den man Badet, ALLES WEG, all die harte Arbeit der Anhäufung umsonst, nun muss man wieder von vorne beginnen und GENAU SO GUCKEN DIE HUNDE AUCH IMMER ;)*

Wieso muss ein Hund eigentlich dauernd gebadet werden?? Du weisst schon das du jedesmal den Schutzfilm seiner Haut zerstörst ??👎👎👎👎👎👎
