    Thank you for the informative video. Ironically, when I visited an admissions panel, I was told by Jason Dugas, Director of Admissions, that UVA does NOT encourage its students to become academics. I was told that if I expressed my interest in academia on my application, I would likely be rejected because I would be a misfit even though my academic and extracurricular profile otherwise matched or exceed accepted ranges. He told me to apply to Harvard and Yale instead.
