It is quite a heavenly dessert, in Greek bakeries you can find this and its just incredible. One of the best desserts i have ever tried and i have tried many deserts from around the world. It goes really well with Mastika flavour ice cream (Mastika is a resin with a pine or cedar like flavour).
Excellent if i may say so such an adaptable formulae - i used the rind of one lemon as well reduced sugar by 50 grms - out of this world done and dusted

I made it, today. I put 50 g sugar less in the batter. It turned out nice but still too sweet for my taste. I will not make it again, but it definitely is worth trying at least once. It has nice aftertaste. Eating with some hot drink is recommended.
This looks amazing, not too dense and less sugar than some other similar recipes out there! Will Greek honey work in the syrup instead of granulated sugar?
Hello . Thank very much. Of course you can replace the sugar with honey. But will need more honey and less water to reach the texture it should have the syrup.

Bonjour , Je m'apprête à réaliser un Portokalopita ! Il est prévu de le déguster Dimanche midi, mais je souhaiterais le préparer la veille. J'ai un conseil à vous demander. Que me conseillez vous ? De réaliser entièrement le gâteau (gâteau + sirop) la veille et de le mettre au frais, ou bien de réaliser le gâteau la veille, mais de ne verser le sirop dessus que le lendemain après l'avoir légèrement réchauffé ? Yo he puesto 125 para el bizcocho porque el yogur que tenía era griego azucarado, y 120 para el almíbar y ha salido riquísima y muy dulce. Así que ni es necesario que pongáis toda esa cantidad de azúcar, si no lo queréis.
Made this yesterday, and while it was good, think it could use some vanilla/vanilla extract and will add next time! Also maybe half brown sugar and half regular sugar in the syrup. Otherwise it was still tasty :)

Deși pe internet abundă o mulțime de rețete cu renumita prăjitură grecească, eu am ales această variantă pe principiul "simply the best". Totuși deși în toate celelalte rețete în compoziția prăjiturii se adaugă și suc de portocale în aceasta lipsește, iar cantitatea de zahar din sirop este exagerat de mare în raport cu lichidele. Până la urma aș vrea să știu care este varianta originala a acestei prăjituri, cunoscut fiind faptul că grecii adoră aromele citricelor, dar sunt mai ponderați cu adaosul de zahăr în preparatele lor ?
Buna ziua! Grecii nu sunt deloc ponderati cu cantitatea de zahar mai ales la sirop unde aceasta trebuie sa fie in raport de 1:1 (cat este cantitatea de lichid atat este si cea de zahar). Daca vreti sa folositi o cantirate mai mica de zahar, pentru ca, textura siropului sa fie perfecta ( si nu un lichid cu zahar) este necesar sa folositi sirop de glucoza. Cat despre sucul de portocale aceasta este in cantitare mare in sirop pentru a da gust, iar aroma din desert se ia de la coaja de portocale. Aceasta este o reteta traditionala, dar avand in vedere ca fiecare zona sau poate chiar fiecare gospodina are o reteta proprie care se pastreaza din generatie in generatie nu veti gasi acelasi gust peste tot. O zi buna

După ce am primit răspunsul dvs. am observat discrepanțe privind unitațile de măsură pentru lichide, acestea sunt date exclusiv în grame în reteta scrisă, iar in clip măsurați 300ml de suc și 100ml apă, ambele în rețeta scrisă fiind date în grame la fel ca celelalte ingrediente. Care sunt defapt cantitățile reale ale lichidelor, fiindcă eu le-am măsurat în ml cum este corect ???
Sunt in mililitri, dar puteti cantari si in grame. Apa fie in grame fie in ml este acelasi lucru. La sucul de portocale va fi o diferenta foarte mica ...insesizabila.

Привет! Спасибо. разницу в текстуре можно увидеть только тогда, когда попробуешь оба способа. Если вы не хотите сушить их в духовке, вы можете сушить их на ночь при комнатной температуре.
I wouldn't call this a cake or a pie and I certainly wouldn't call it easy. There's a lot of work going into this dessert. Have you ever heard of a dump cake? It's 2 or 3 ingredients mixed in the baking pan and baked. Now that's about the easiest cake you can make. You're so dramatic.
