how about you guys do better quality checks on your kits instead of inventing useless stuff. Just recently checked my 1 year old Saturn V kit's shells. Most of them are 1-2 mm out of round, the hoops wobble a lot on a flat surface, the bearing edges of the shells have many chips and dents and if I place the shells on a flat surface, there are gaps of around 4-5 paper pieces thick. And I never took the kit apart until now and it only stayed in my room this entire time. Very disappointed!
That’s nothing to do with the manufacturing process, and everything to do with how the kits are transported. It’s the same reason you’ll find many of the same issues in other brands, and why people always swear by kits made in their home country. They haven’t had to spend weeks or months in shipping containers or airplane storage areas, and therefore are much closer to how they were when they left the factory
Great players like Craig Blundell deserve to play great drums. Design lab drums are simply outstanding!
