    Your videos are NOT too long. I agree with Boote. You have the best and most educational, entertaining sailing videos on the net. Keep it up and don't change a thing!
    Thank you for the dream.

      +Deane B - Wow - thanks for the awesome comment Deane - we will try to keep the sharing going. I must say we often feel to give it up and just keep the moments to ourselves, but we get such awesome letters from people who say it makes them happy - so - we will work at it for the time being :)

    Well Mr & Mrs Impi I don't know what to say. Last couple nights I watched lots of your videos and the more I listened to you Mr. Impi you remanded me of my late family doctor who was from Capetown and lived in Adelaide, South Australia. Maybe if you new him let me know. His name was Dr. Herbert Dickman. Not only that he was a good man, he was my best friend and about 10 years ago he took his own life. I still miss him a lot. I am 64 now and I am thinking of sailing soon. Love your Lagoon 440!

      Hi srdjan - Thank you for the kind words and for sharing about your doctor friend. I never got to meet him but I do know a lot of south African doctors who left South Africa for Australia. I was sitting on a friends boat this evening - he is from New Zealand and I was telling him that some of the friendliest people we have met come from the two countries - Australia and Nz.
      At age 64 - yes, I think sailing would be a lovely thing to do ... cheers for now ... Brent

    Love that you provide some history about the places you visit!

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheUnmadeify - I must say the New Zealanders make it easy for one to understand the history too. The Witangi Treaty Grounds were fascinating and what I liked most about it is that they had folks from both sides (European and Maori) debating the issues on film so one was presented with a balanced view of things ... and this for me is what makes it such a great nation - the ability to forgive the sins of the past, to realise the mistakes made and the ability of folks here to pull together for a great future! South Africa could learn a few lessons here - we were almost on track but seem to have lost the final goal ... the future of our generations to come ... well done New Zealand!

    Hi Impi crew! I'm from Turkey... so you've got followers even from this far of the world! I enjoy all of your videos! It's a good combination of sea life; instructional, informative and very good reflections on sailing experiences in remote areas. However, my favorite vid is the "Dog Abandoned on Casy Island - New Caledonia".
    You deserve much more followers!
    Please keep on sharing your great experiences and adventures! All the best...

      +F. Levent Şensever - Hey - thanks for the great comment. We are not about the number of followers on our channel - we like to be able to share and inspire those who really enjoy watching this. We are also quite realistic in the sense that we are not youngsters so are probably less popular than other channels - however - we love meeting new folks through these experiences and we get letters from folks who say it 'really makes their day' and this for us is happiness! Now we get to meet a great guy from Turkey too - Awesome !!!

    Thank You Impi and crew, for sharing us your adventure through the Islands and cove's of New Zealand..I looks like such beautiful place, and I am sure that video did do it justice... Although we saw plenty of beached, I am a little disappointed that we did not see Anna do yoga, Because, and I quote "It seems everytime we (Impi crew) are on a beach Anna does a bit of yoga"... LOL ...Just want to let you know I pay attention to your videos....And about boat maintenance, you said you are lazy, well I call it. Work smarter, not harder....Thank you again for the sharing the journey....Safe travels you two....

      +Jim Holt - Thanks Jim - you always make us smile! I must say Ana struggles a bit to get her yoga going on the beaches when its cold out. She likes the warmth of the sunshine and so on ... still ... she is acclimatising and I noticed she is getting into a rhythm each morning on Impi now - the folks in the marina were watching her this morning and some came down to chat to her about Yoga - she was slightly embarrassed saying she did not realise she had an audience - LOL !!! Thanks

    Really awesome video! This is the way travel videos should be done... I've watched other adventure travelogues that just show photos and video snippets, with music blaring, and little or no narration or interpretations/explanations. This is the first of yours I've watched and look forward to viewing more. Makes me want to go there. Just now reading Trekka Round the World, and it's interesting to bring the written account together with your video. Nice job and thanks for sharing!

      +Gracia Barr Hi Gracia and thanks for the compliment. By the way I had to smile when you said this was the first of our videos you have seen as I have been 'disciplined and trained' by our You Tube Family to get the music and other features around our videos corrected. Please go easy with the comments on the earlier ones - we are getting there slowly - LOL ! Cheers for now ;)

    my opinion, the important part of a video is not the length, but the quality, the content. long as you maintain high quality content throughout, the video can be as long as you want. you might use youtube analytics to see how long the average user is watching, and use that as a guide to your video length. but in the end, the choice is yours, and we the viewers will decide if we want to watch whatever you put out. i personally watch every minute because i find your content fascinating, and i thoroughly enjoy seeing all around the world, places that i hope to someday visit personally. i hope also to meet you on the water some day :) and thank you for your videos

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sean “SV Inopii” Thompson Hey Sean - thanks for the inspiring comment and yeah mate - we too hope to meet you on the deep blue. I guess we can all find good and bad in everything - we try to have a balance erring toward the good otherwise we fear becoming generally negative spirited people which is not why we are cruising. Still, we feel we owe it to folks to be truthful and show all sides to the journey. I totally understand that some folks may enjoy the content whilst others may not - in fact we have been quite surprised at how people have written to us saying they enjoy things we otherwise find a bit mundane - so I guess we all do different things in life and its nice to check each other out from time to time :)

    There is another world traveling sailor in the Bay Of Islands, Web Chiles (I think 72 ) is on his 4th or 5th solo circumnavigation, on his boat Gannet (a Moore 24) moored at Opua. Great video thanks for sharing.

    I enjoy hearing the sound of the water on the pebbles. (20 min. mark) Forgoing the music was a good choice, and saves a bit of time in editing. Where those torrey pines on the island? We have them in Cambria, CA, USA.

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Castaway Hi Castaway - thanks for the comment :) - yes, I believe these are Torrey Pines ! I googled Cambria because I don't remember it and lived in San Diego for a while many years back ... loved California ...

    Think those KIWI's got it wrong...from your video...it appears that it's ISLANDS of BAYS...and really beautiful ones at that.
    Thanks again for another beautiful (and NOT long enough) video of the bays of NZ.
    Remember that 1769 date of James Cook's visit...he liked to name things by dates.
    So...stay tuned when you sail off to OZ and encounter a town called '1770'...
    Glad to see that Anna is appearing MORE in the videos.
    We all know you're the brawn...but I'm beginning to think she's really the brains! NO LOL'ing here.
    Go Anna.

    Hi guys, loving your videos too. Its nice to see our Country through someone else' eyes and it makes you think how lucky we are to live here. How far south are you going? do you have any plans to head to the Marlborough sounds (south island)?

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Owen Crump Thanks Owen - must say we love the people of New Zealand - man, such generosity we have never seen so 'thank you New Zealand'. We are not sure at this stage how far south we will be sailing as we have work to do and will haul at Norsands but we are waiting for a weather window to sail to Auckland and the Great Barrier Island - seems the weather is going to hold us off until at least Tuesday next week ...

    • @saildulcinea
      @saildulcinea 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Catamaran Impi I assume you will be staying in NZ for the cyclone season and moving on again next may? we were so inspired by yourselves and others like you cruising full time we have quit our jobs as of end of this year and will be full time cruising from then, you only live once so we are making the most of it while we are young. we are going to be in the Bay of Islands area march, april, may time so would be good to say hi if your floating around that area still.

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Owen Crump - Hi Owen - thanks for the message and yes, we will be moving on. We are writing to you from a little anchorage called 'Smokehouse Bay' on the Great Barrier Island here in NZ. We should be hauling Impi mid DEC and will do some work on her at Norsands before flying to SA for our sons wedding. In the meantime we are gathering technical info to share with folks who want to set up their yachts for cruising and will share this with you whilst in SA. We are not sure where our adventures will take us next, but please stay in touch as it would be nice to have a beer or two with you. We meet so many folks on the water who read our stories and watch our videos so this is a great way to make new friends. By the way - doing this whilst you are young is great! If ever you feel after buying the yacht and chucking in the job for a life at sea that you made a mistake - then just remember it is the BEST THING YOU EVER DID - as you get older you will realise this ... the chase for money in a daily robotic style robs people from enjoying life. I am not saying we should all just 'throw in our jobs here' ... gosh ... even for us we may have to 'think out of the box' a bit especially with our currency having almost halved against the dollar in 4 years, but, we really need to be doing what makes us happy whilst we try to earn that extra buck or two :)

    Impi, nice name for boat! It mean in Finnish virgin, or ancient goddess of love and sexuality. I have been following your journey closely. Great footage and you have take time to make real videos, not just annoying short messy clips. Keep up good work.

    • @CatamaranImpi
      @CatamaranImpi  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +4trade2 Thanks for the great comment. I must admit we are feeling shy of any footage right now being up the river in Whatangei. W head hoped to be sailing more but the weather is lousy and continues to be lousy for the next few days - so - we have to wait for a break. We don't want to just roll the camera on any old thing! We loved the explanation of our boat name - thanks for this! We had actually called it Impi as this is a South African name for the Zulu warrior - you may recall Chaka Zulu - the great Zulu warrior. In those years they persevered no matter how tough the situation :) Thanks again ...

    Wait a second? What? You took fuel from a freighter in the middle of the ocean and mention it like it's no big deal? That is a huge deal!!! I have never heard of this happening...ever! Please, I know this vid is years old, but please elaborate on this incident. How did this come to pass?
