*A few weeks ago I upgraded my PC to take advantage of ASUS' new VG259QM monitor. You can overclock it to 280Hz which gives you a smoother and more pleasant experience than 144Hz, as long as you can get the framerates you need. The jump from 144Hz to 280Hz is not as impressive as from 60Hz to 144Hz but it's an upgrade nonetheless. I'd say 280Hz is not a must-have feature but more like a nice-to-have feature. I didn't notice that much of a difference on Lockers but other maps with lots of detail became much more pleasant for the eyes. According to reviews its display has true 1ms response time but you only get that with an OverDrive setting of 80 which comes a little bit of ghosting. I use it on 1920x1080 @280Hz Racing Mode with an OverDrive setting of 60. Also I'm not always hitting the framerates I'm aiming for but the reason for that is my old GTX 1080. I'm not upgrading until the RTX 3080 becomes available. In a leaked benchmark test, the upcoming graphics card outperforms the 2080 Ti by 30%.*

I think also rtx 3080 wont be good enought because for high fps cz the cpu is the bottleneck here you need a cpu with high clock speed try overclocking your cpu ;)

Asus vg259qm i have same monitor as him its sucks , motion clearity just horible , for example when i flick in csgo enemy being invisible of my screen, above 144hz pointless , but this monitors price so affortable and same with most 144hz 1080p monitors , also didnt like the ppi on 24.5 screen its annoys me compare 23.8 screen

Did the game brake with these high fps (over 200)? I'm asked cause there are different game engines with different levels of 'link' between fps and engine physics. And Battlefield 4 as a default max fps value has a 200 fps cap. By all that I mean if the game has some variation of fps linking and we have more fps than the engine can handle some game mechanics would work strange e.g. a little bit quicker fire rate, movement speed.

Input lag of that monitor should be only 1,7ms and g2g around 1 or 2 ms. It’s a fps beast.
Does it feel like your hitreg ingame is better with faster frames?
Yeah, it feels smoother. I don't get 1,7ms response time though because for that I'd have to run it on OverDrive 80 which causes ghosting.
Nickel, of course it can vary unit from unit, but in some review I saw that OverDrive 60 did have slower g2g transition and higher input lag than OverDrive 40. And 80 was actually sweet spot. For another viewer was working best OverDrive 100 with ELMB enabled. So I believe you’ll need to play with it a little.
I’ve studied tons about this one, cuz I am willing to buy a new monitor either. I am waiting for comparison between this one and benq XL2546S

Aren’t 90% of BF4s servers at a tickrate of 60hz? Because that’s what the server log shows me, 120hz at maximum on a really small amount of servers...

How do you find the colours and the black levels? I haven't yet looked but going by the refresh rate that it can achieve it is safe for me to assume that this is a traditional "TN" type display.
Do you use HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4b?

If you can't read English then my advice is to use the most suitable translation service for your native language.
And as to whether a 280Hz refresh rate is "worth it", that is entirely situation, use case, and end user dependent.
I won't deny that for many people it won't make a difference as other factors limit them, whether it is their actual ability or the limitations of computer hardware, computer software, or, international networking infrastructure, many factors are at play.
For a small and rather niche group of users a refresh rate of 280Hz can provide them with a advantage which then can use in gameplay to have the upper hand and get more use from their individual skills.
Hopefully my response is satisfactory for you, and if not then that is something you will simply have to overcome on a personal level.

You don't get 1ms response time unless you want to have ghosting at the same time. So it's pretty much a marketing lie. The ASUS VG259QM is an IPS display and the colors and black levels are truly great for this high refreshrate. Also I used DisplayPort.
@@nickelbf Nope, it is impossible to get a 1ms response time because there is about a 6-7ms delay between frames on 144hz, and a bit less on 240hz
@@naoltitude9516Meanwhile now you can get 240hz oled panels that have true 0.01ms response times due to how the panels work. So goddamn good, only competition now are the 360hz and 500hz panels from Zowie and Asus.

I hope the next Battlefield balances out rate of fire for guns because the AEK and other weapons with a rate of fire above 800 are just too overpowered. I like the near-realism of Battlefield games but they should make it harder to be competitive in multiplayer mode, which would be interesting to see. I personally use either the RPK-12 or QBB-95 which are far slower simply because i like to play fairly, if that exists.
