    you know why transformers hum? because they don't know the words.
    these xfmrs need annual maintenance, aka a shutdown, to vacuum dust build up and torque the lug connections.

      Absolutely, regular maintenance is the best way to increase your transformer’s life. For liquid-filled units, we created this resource around Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) Tests and oil samples: www.maddoxtransformer.com/resources/articles/transformer-maintenance-dissolved-gas-analysis-and-how-to-pull-an-oil-sample/

    After turning off the braker and lock out🔐 installation, they never check the power in the old transformer and put their hands over those bars, assuming everything is fine...

      Hi Gustavo,
      This video is intended merely for informational purposes ONLY, not instructional. You should always have this kind of work done by licensed and experienced electrical contractor who is familiar with installing transformers.

    I noticed the transformer was not commissioned via any electrical testing.

      Hi Jermaine,
      We always recommend using a licensed electrical professional when installing these units, who can perform electrical testing on the transformer.
      For more information about transformer testing please check out this guide: www.maddoxtransformer.com/resources/articles/guide-to-transformer-testing-standards/

    I liked the lockout, tagout but expected to see a check for potential prior to making any kind of disconnection.
    Also expected to be shown the checking for phase rotation using a Knopps or similar device plus measured voltage output values, etc.

    is the transformer connected directly to the incoming power with a shutoff then to a panel?

    • @riolop1972
      @riolop1972 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Transformers like these are fed from the switchgears/switchboards which are fed from Edison/incoming power to vicinity

    Now anyone can do it!
    Don’t really try this at home. You might hook it up incorrectly and then go boom boom

    That hole looks like crap and with the vibrations can nick the wire coming in from the bottom. FAIL.
