Helping family too much leads to some family members become very nasty for asking money but all of them will never help you back .lesson learnt for me after 36 years of helping them ..now down to 1% of help ..lol ..life is great with out helping people who don't care 😂😂❤❤ thanks maya for this video❤❤❤

This issue is the one infuriating thing about dating Filipinas. No man is obligated to take care of his wife's family. His only obligation is to take care of his wife and their own children. Seems incredibly selfish to think that your family member's husband owes you money for nothing. SMH.

    • @thegodsrockstar

Agree.. I've been dating a filipina for 3 years and I had to check her on that. She knows better than to ask me. I don't have a problem giving a gift on birthday. Legit birthday lol cause I swear they celebrate extra birthdays for little kids which is ridiculous.

Everything in life starts with properly setting expectations. Mia having that conversation with her family is exactly the start. The other is do not set precedents that you don’t want to be stuck doing. The last one… both of you need to put your relationship ahead of extended family relations. Requires growing a thick skin and push back/call out passive-aggressive attempts to guilt you into paying/doing things you don’t want to.

Filipinos should really start an independent mindset where they should have pride in earning a living for themselves and be ashamed of asking money from other people who work for their own money. Why do they think that they are entitled to spend someone else's earnings?
    Yes, definitely set a boundary.

But I appreciate the reminder about having a conversation with her about boundaries and when she gets to America our immediate needs and future planning will always need to come first and that we can help at times but it shouldn't be an every payday thing.

Thank you for making this video!
Speaking for myself, I'd stay away from dating Filipinas because of family's expectations.
I won't deal with such nonsense as I rebuke it unequivocally!
A foreigner is NOT a retirement saving plan for a woman's family.
Personally, I'd rather flush MY hard earned money down the toilet.
If I ever move there permanently, I'd have a non-Filipina partner just because of this bullshit.

Wow, how times have changed! I remember watching Paul and Gio, the two "red pill-ers" saying how they would never get married, how it was a huge mistake, a trap, and a terrible idea for a man. Fast forward, and they are both happily married! I do think, though, that their strong skepticism about marriage helped them weed through what could have been bad relationships early on. Let's face it, both Paul and Gio hit home runs with Maya and Mia! Congratulations all around.

Great video , I am planning to marry my Filipina GF who I spent 2 years with in Kuwait when I was working there. I have already had some of that conversation with her. She has 3 young daughters that I will take on as my own. I know that there will be expectations of lots of the finer things and money, and will have to deal with that when it happens. My ASAWA Knows that I can be generous, but realizes that we will have to live on a budget. I will be retired and live with her and her children at her house on her mothers property . I am so much looking forward to growing my own food and raising chickens ect. We will be living in the mountains in Luzon ( Nueva Vizcaya.) I am very excited to make this move in Nov 2024 when her contract in Kuwait is finished. I really enjoy both your and Gio`s You Tube channels. Keep up the very informative work that you both do .

If I must be honest this has been a very sensitive topic since I've learned about the Filipino woman Thai women or for a matter of fact Asian women in general. The fact that most of all foreigners are made of money. I don't know if that traditional lifestyle is typically for men overall or for just foreign men. I often wonder do the same expectation falls for the Filipino man as a foreign man. Because I believe that Filipino women have a different type of expectation for foreigners than they do for their own counterpart Filipino man.

Hi Mia, my Filipina wife and I are in Bahrain. How far are you and Paul to the border? I'll send you guys a private message, but if you guys ever want pork, we can meet you at the border. Also, pork is cheaper on the US base.

Oh yes, I would get asked for money over and over. I would say "Do you think that I have a money tree out the back that I can just prune"😂 😂 Baliw! Yes, they think that Farang's are automatically rich. 😂 They ask, and then say "It's okay to say no 😂 but I laugh and say "it's okay not to ask"😂. Also I ask...."What do you mean 'borrow'😂 and the reply is ..."okay, owe". 😂😂

All the western men who married ended up being extorted to send money home. Many also giving green cards to other family members. If you say "no" you get no honey. This is mostly unspoken.

What you're saying is basically other people projecting what they would do if they were in your situation instead of accepting not everyone will choose to do things as they would and they have an attitude as if they are the only person making the decision once in a relationship this is a red flag while many of their relationships would fail if they had a foreigner

Thank you for bringing up difficult subjects.
I think the problem is that in the west we have social-security paid by taxes and you have social-security paid by family. For the westerner it will be a double taxation to support both your family and paying tax in his country. I can’t see a solution to the problem if you don’t contribute to your families, you’re escaping your responsibilities and if you pay with your husbands money he’s paying double. Whatever the solution it has to be a compromise.
The sugar-daddy/gold-digger thing is also a difficult topic. Traditionally it has been the mans role to support his woman and children, but with women working it has become difficult to draw the line between prostitution and hypergamy. Women are are attracted to men that can provide and protect by nature, but the mans role as provider and protector has more and more been taking over by the state.

Maya, that is the best interview you have done so far. Thank you for being so informative and truthful about Philippine family's. I heard about the family deal ETC, being in a long term relationship with a Philippine women it is a battle with the family and it is none stop. But in saying that the good out weights the bad.

A good topic and advice Maya and Mia. I’m happy to see you both happy and married now. A few years ago I would never have imagined Paul and Gio both married ( not to each other ) 😊 I’m happy that they both found what they were looking for. Congratulations.

With all respect , being from the USA , I've had to tell a few Filipinas that I want to see them , not your family. Now I know how the Philippine culture works ,and I keep hearing about it , but honestly, it doesn't hurt to consider our norms and culture.
