Can I just say thank you for actually answering everyone’s questions INSIDE the comments! Instead of just saying “give us a call” or saying you sent a PM. In other words, thank you for being transparent!!!
@terijohnson514 Absolutely! Thank you for the recognition!
These guys have character and integrity. They actually care about their customers and their needs, so you get quality and value for money in a design and build process that gives you the best solution possible.
Very informative video. It sounds like you have a true turn key operation. Great presentation.
I like this new podcast format of video, thanks to every member of this team.

I want to express my appreciation for the detail and overview that each of you has presented with this video. The coordination of efforts between all parties involved with a building venture is more apparent to me now than it was before. Thank you!
@davidwolf226 It's around $3 million as you see it in this video.
Amazed by the Details, the Quality, the Stellar Service and that your Services reach all the way to Canada. ❤ Nothing compares to the Lakehouse although all Tours I have seen are absolutely Stunning. How much of a Wait for available Approved Contractors in Western Canada? and once the Contractor is Secured can the 18th-ish months of Build Time be Fast Tracked? We have serious Winter...Thank you to all at Golden Eagle for your Videos and Customer Service.
@blujen1642 Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation! We take immense pride in the quality of our work and are thrilled to hear that our Lakehouse, among other tours, has left such a lasting impression on you. We are actually coming out with a tour of the Lakehouse pretty soon! As for Western Canada, contractor availability can vary based on the current demand and season. We don't reach out to contractors until you begin drawing plans with us. While we always aim to expedite the build process when possible, it's essential to maintain the quality and integrity of our work. The winter conditions you mentioned are certainly a consideration and they seem to play a factor for all of our clients in the North and in the mountains. I recommend reaching out to Justin, Jon, or Jan at 1-800-270-5025 or our website (www.goldeneagleloghomes.com) for the most up-to-date information on contractor availability and potential build time adjustments. Thank you for considering Golden Eagle!
This was a amazing details giving on building a home.
I made have miss this question , but let's use the power horn log home you are detailing today. What is your time frame from start to finish on giving your customer the keys to their home.
I would like to think each one of you on the show today.
@danlowery5552 Thanks for commenting. Timeframe is about 18 months from start of planning to move-in date. Sometimes it takes longer, so it's always best to start talking to us early rather than waiting. There are some epic home tours coming your way!! 🏡🎥👍 th-cam.com/video/fLrUDKrXqOw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hcaEWvVNpqWXSrpl
Thanks so much for your work ❤

Insanely gorgeous!!
Thank you very much!
These homes look highly flammable. 🔥
@JohnLee-db9zt Actually, they are much less of a fire concern then a conventional home because the large logs and timbers aren't as flammable as 2x4's and 2x6's
You guys build such beautiful homes , I wish that I could afford one of them !!! 👍😊🏘🪵

0:34 Beautiful house (arch beams) in a beautiful autumn forest! Cozy patio: O) Is there a review of this house?
We've completed filming the home tour, and it should debut in the next few weeks. It's spectacular! Be sure to subscribe so that you don't miss it. It might be the best yet!
Great video and transparent discussion, thank you! #Hotep
Our pleasure!
So you guys don't use your own builders? Who actually is building your houses for the homeowner then? and Who contracts the builder, Golden Eagle or the homeowner?
Yes, ultimately you need to choose a builder. In most areas Golden Eagle can offer you contact information for three or more experienced log home builders. We would encourage you to call their references, meet them in person, and decide for yourself it you are compatible. Do not choose a builder solely on price. When choosing a builder you want a good communicator, someone who listens to you, will call you back, and of course does high quality work. Visit our website at www.goldeneagleloghomes.com for more information or call us at 1-800-270-5025
Does the cost of building go up the further the home is from Wisconsin?
The turnkey cost of building will generally be most impacted by the land you choose to build on, and the complexity of your home. While location certainly matters, it will always correlate with the local cost of labor. Electrical, plumbing, concrete, general construction, much more would be local labor.
Do you do horse barns to match the home or attached barns in a barndominium style?
Yes, we certainly can accommodate both styles to match the home or create attached barns in a barndominium style! Call us at 1-800-270-5025 or contact us via our website at www.goldeneagleloghomes.com to get introduced to our team.
Do you discuss the need to have a perk test for waste field lines? or do you just build the house & let the customer worry about water & waste septic tanks? I mean if you don't have that information how can you recommend a house wanting to build on solid rock?
I have this question. my lot is rock. 🧐
@b.b.8204 @k9hannibal Yes this is very important. You need to do a perc test before you buy the land because it will be the deciding factor as to whether you can build on it - and where you can build on it. A perc test assesses soil's ability to absorb wastewater, crucial for septic system functionality. Building on solid rock complicates septic installation due to poor absorption and installation challenges. Without a perc test, one risks environmental issues, regulatory hurdles, and unexpected costs when planning a home on rocky terrain. We would expect that you'd hire the company to complete the perc test before you start drawing plans with us. We are here every step of the way if you need some guidance.
@@goldeneagleloghomes good to know! I already have the lot with neighbors next door. Developed area. Septic a must. Rural HOA but I will be be sure to research this first!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Love this!! Wish you could open a branch in New Zealand, its not that farrrrrr away😁, we have the perfect piece of land for you 🍀🥝🌏✈
@shelltays6993 Thank you very much! We could ship the materials to New Zealand. We have homes throughout Canada and the United States. Shipping overseas is possible.
@@goldeneagleloghomes OMG really ??What about bringing wood etc into NZ wouldn't that take years to get it through quarantine??Right thats it I'm talking with hubby tonight!!! Chat with ya soon
What would be the ideal amount of land to build the 17000 sq ft log home ? Is it easier for you to build a log home on level ground or sloped . or does it make any real difference. ?
🤔
Ideally, 3 acres or more would be perfect but it's really a matter of preference. While flat terrains make access simpler, many of our properties have varying elevations, with the front being higher than the back. However, this isn't a major concern.
Might be an odd question, but what software do you use for design and what rendering software were you talking about that you've started doing 3D renders in? Thanks you!
@BBAMEG 3D Studio Max for rendering and Revit for drafting.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. But who builds the home? Does the customer buy the home from GE, then finds a local builder to put it together? How much does that change the final numbers?
This is my understanding from talking to them. It’s harder and harder to find a builder tho 😢 I’m trying.
Our professional log and timber home consultants at Golden Eagle will ask you some simple questions and then develop a ballpark price for what a project like yours may cost to build. Surprises are not always fun, and that is why we strive to be as accurate as possible by using the information we gather during our discussions together. Why doesn't GEH no longer ship to CA?
And will you start up again in the next 2 years?
@1casinova Although we have built homes in California, we have come to find that too many projects were interrupted by tedious red tape from both a local and state level. This has resulted in such long delays that we have found projects never broke ground - even though we did all of the engineering and materials selections. With that in mind, we have decided that it's not in our best interest to work on California projects when we have other families on our waiting list. We do limit our capacity, and if a project is cancelled after its intended start date, that means that someone else could have had their spot. Thank you for your interest in Golden Eagle and we appreciate your understanding.
@@goldeneagleloghomes anyone in Southern California you can recommend?
I thought walkout basement and daylight basement were the same thing. What's the difference?
@dlg5485 While both walkout and daylight basements are designed to infuse more natural light into the space and offer a more livable ambiance than a traditional basement, there are distinct differences. A walkout basement has at least one wall entirely above ground, featuring full-sized doors and windows, and provides direct outdoor access, making it ideal for homes on hilly terrains. On the other hand, a daylight basement, although partially submerged, features windows on one or more sides to usher in light. It doesn't necessarily offer direct outdoor access like the walkout style but still ensures a brighter basement environment. Thanks for the superb question. Please comment back when this is on so I can see it looking to purchase property in New Hampshire and I am looking for a builder to build me a log cabin home. Please, please comment back. Thank you for this video

wow!
700k to 12 million? That counts me out.
Thanks for your interest!
It’s only possible if you’re rich. They don’t discuss price relative to traditional light framed homes.
Our incredible homes start at $700,000 turnkey and go up from there. Yes they cost more than a traditional framed home, but they use many different custom components that a typical home does not use.
Cis white men with a podcast? No way
@unkokusaiwa haha add us to the long list people starting a podcast in 2023.
It's called the "forever" home, because you will have to finance it literally forever.
@wyattbonnette3414 The homeowners didn't finance the home, but we do find that banks are eager to work with our clients because they like our process.
