Hi just gonna ramble here. I am an architecture student who had to repeat a whole year because in my last college I couldnt handle it. Basically it all summed up to way too fast of a pacing and if I miss a beat I'll be dragging way more than Neiman. In this new college its essentially better paced and also actually has better facilities, professors, etc. On one of my subjects on the first day they had us write our introduction and etc. on a piece of paper, and then introduce each other and try to get to know one another. Afterwards we did a quiz and each question is about everu student in my class. This is to teach students that socializing is key especially in architecture. But my introvert ass didn't want to have any of it. I liked being in my own corner. Fast forward, we are now tasked for a midterms project, the task was to group into three and come up with a concept. I never really minded the groupings as I would almost always find stragglers to pair up with. Not this time. It was the day of group submissions, or tell the professor who your groupmates are. I still have no one, and had to tell the class rep. She got everyone in the group chat to try and adopt me as we all have to be in groups. No one did. The last two groups that were duos didn't want to as they already had their own plans. I didn't mind not being picked, and in fact was down to solo this midterm project. But after relaying to the professor, he threatened to roulette everyone into groups. So all the ones that already had grouped themselves would be shuffled. The whole class panicked, and tried to get the duos to adopt me. They didnt budge, until finally one of them gave in. This whole event was so extremely embarassing to me, not because I wasn't accept but because I had to be accepted or else. I was always apathetic towards socializing as its notnonly draining, I could never really fit most people, my interests are very niche where I come from and I'm not even sure if its worth talking about. Souls games, Dark Stories, Berserk, etc. I hated this. And since then have decided to socialize more from then on. Now, I am sort of trying? Its difficult to get your voice out there only to realize what you have to say isnt even worth listening to. I try to chime in with other friend groups, giving my two cents on certain topics... this is proving to be more difficult than I imagine. But alteast I'm still trying. Wish me luck fellow strugglers.
Oof man so sorry u had to go through that :/ those duos were really mean, but yh i can totally understand ur situation, from the little socializing ive done throughout the years if u are friendly people dont tend to mind being friends and whatnot, of course i also wont be able to talk about my more niche interests but thats normal. I think youre doing good! You'll be able to socialize more, giving ur two cents is doing good, and if u meet more people im sure there will be someone with the same interests! All the luck! :D ❤️
@@octae nah I didn't really mind them not choosing me, its understandable. As I said I just didn't like that they HAD to take me or else everything is ruined.
yh also that but ig from the teacher's perspective he had to threaten them since they were so vehemently refusing (also i personally think that its kinda mean idk maybe thats just me)
@@octae i like to give ppl the benefit of the doubt :) and also it doesnt really affect me if they didnt pick me because of something else. I mean they dont know me and as far as they know I could just be trying to ride on their coat tails.
I absolutely hate team projects, not because they suck, but because most of the time my teammates are actually really good and my social anxiety makes it incredibly difficult to be helpful at times (sometimes I dont even know if im part of their team or not cus im scared to ask when the teams are being chosen LMAO) so i just kinda sit there until I find a task to attatch myself to Thankfully Im hardly ever useless, but I find myself being really dependant on someone else to serve as a leader :( no but this is a way better problem to have tbh, sexism just sucks and im sorry u go through that shit (Pd a mi igual me gusta el dinero :D)
I tend to have the opposite of ur problem kajslajsl nobody ever wants to be the first to say anything so i end up being the leader and doing more tasks, but as someone who has been forcefully given the position the leader a lot dw about being dependant on them, as long as u do the work i dont think people will mind (Pd omagaaa mi gente hispanohablante)
