Information about the Landkreuzer P-1000 Ratte:
The Landkreuzer P-1000 Ratte was a proposed super-heavy tank designed by Germany during World War II. With an intended weight of 1,000 metric tons, it would have been the heaviest armored fighting vehicle ever built. The design featured two naval gun turrets, thick armor, and a crew of 20+.
*However*, the project was canceled in 1943 before any prototypes were constructed due to impracticality and resource constraints.
This built isn't historically accurate because it is the "Fantasy Version" of the P-1000 Ratte

The thing is though, it probably would work, it just wouldn’t be effective in combat. It would be easily bombed by high flying aircraft making it hard for AA to reach.
@@michealklondike4049yeah true, I think that and the insane amount of ressources it would take to build this (1000 tons or equivalent to 17 Pzkw. VI or ~40 Pzkw. IV or Stug III, which would be more effective) is the reason it never left the drawing phase

The tank could be just a joke made by German engineer's
It wasn’t a joke it was an actual concept with making a super tank using one of there ww2 battle ship’s main turrets for this tank.

The p1000 ratte was almost made until germany realized the amount of metal waste and money cuz its also slow so it cant reach battle in time and also cuz planes will aim for it p1000 rate was never made but it was something hitler like
The Ratte was an actual concept by engineers the wunderwaffe/wonderweapon programs wanted to place a naval gun on land doing so would need a large body which resulted to this the P.1500 looked more realistic as to put a railgun onto a bunch of tracks but weight is a thing and both concepts were stupid because aerial bombing exist fuel consumption exist

Cool, but you should try to use clockwork and trackwork, to make it move
I am currently playing on fabric so sadly no trackwork :(
But I consider to make a extra forge profile for building tanks and similar things
@@D2874-Cyou can make it move by glueing it together and using pistons but thats kinda painful to glue everything for such a huge build
@@bomen330 I already glued it one time and it's not that bad to do.
Instead of pistons I made it move with a train but it is just too big and just lags too much to the point where I can't even play the game right so yeah it works but sadly not good enough :(

You should make the train hulls you used as the track wheels spin with bearings as it moves on the tracks by using the same rotation force in a really cool drive train thing. However, pretty sure that only works with create areonaurics

The P-1000 was never built and only rough designs exist, it isn't sure whether the "12,8-cm-Pak 44" would be mounted on the front (what most historians believe) or at the back in a separate turret (like you said).
But since I didn't have much space left (and because of other design reasons), I left it out completely.

Yeah but I guess the P-1000 wouldn't really make a big difference (if it even was possible to build it in the first place) because it's just a big and slow (if it was able to move at all) target for bombing and probably would have been just a waste of ressources and crew men

Does it drive ?
I just used Create and Create Big Cannons, so I could only drive it using trains (although it isnt quite good and isn't accurate anyway)
But with trackwork, clockwork and other Mods I could try to build one that can drive! :)
On the rear it was actually supposed to have two maus turrets on the rear and further up quad 20mm cannons.
There are 3 documented designs made by Eduard Grote. (Designer of the Landkreuzer P-1000 Ratte)
The first one has the main turret with the two 28cm guns, and 4 other smaller turrets with either 12.9cm or 8.8cm (double) guns.
The second one also has the two 28cm guns, but with a lot shorter barrels. And the 2 smaller turrets on the back were also removed.
The third design was just the second one with some minor differences like 3 mg151 at the right, 3 at the left side and 2 at the back.
Only these three designs would be historically accurate.
Most of the designs you see on the internet are all fantasy (thus called Fantasy Ratte), they never existed and are just interpretations of these three designs (like my built) made after the second world war ended.
So yea I had some freedom in designing and building this one :)

how'd you get the hand held machine gun?
You just right click on the machine gun with the wrench, which creates the handle And if you want you can also add a seat (right click the machine gun with any seat) but that's just additional deco ig

Can you make it move with vs2 and trackwork?
Yeah I think that should work! But I use fabric at the moment and trackwork isn't on there and other mods like create interactive or vs2 don't seem to work (atleast for me) so I would have to use forge! :)

The system to reload the 2 guns takes the whole space of the turret, so sadly not.
But you could just remove it and instead use the quick firing breech so it would've enough space for the turret to spin :)

The wheels use this trackwork mod. Trackwork dependencies: valkryie skies, architecture, kotlinforge, create, EUREKA ship
Yeah I am aware that these mods exist, but trackwork isn't on fabric so I would have to use forge, which I consider because tanks that can't drive aren't the most interesting 😅

I just didn't have the best experience with it and some mods were only on fabric so I switched to it instead

The nazi music is soo unnecessary
I can accept and (somewhat understand) your opinion, but I just thought that the instrumental version of "Erika" would fit the theme of a 1940s German "Wunderwaffen"-Panzer.
Although it was composed during the times of the third Reich, the song itself doesn't contain any lines that glorify or are about it. (yes many people use it as the "Nazi Germany Theme", but in reality it's just a song about a flower and a beloved woman! :))
