Well did it line up with the goal sockets or did you have to jig around with it to make it fit. None if the sites I go too goal posts are plumb where mowers have hit them especially rugby. Instead of singing its praises would be nice to see the set up from go. How the tablet works and how to plit a pitch with existing goal posts, and areas with little room to turn the robot like a club with stands and advertising boards
A blank field for soccer, I understand how it paints it. How does it align itself to a baseball field where the lines have to hit exact spots based on fixed points such as foul poles and bases?
It's fully automated so once it learns where the poles are it can just mark the exact lines out every time. Put it on a soccer field and it can line the same pitch or many pitches week after week over exactly the same lines.
The base just acts as a GPS receiver and doesn't have to be in any fixed point or even in the same point every time you return to a site. Once it has picked up a minimum of 5 satellites it works out where the machine is and quickly calibrates the dimensions you have given it. It is an impressive bit of kit 👌
How dose it know what size football pitch to mark out someone might like to mark out a smaller pitch for his children on a big lawn .is it just one set size .
It's guided by GPS and works just great. It performs the same as other line markers over lumpy ground and bare earth and just continously sprays a white line 👍
Very straight. I was really impressed with it. The surface we used it on was a bit lumpy in places but it still did a great job. I can imagine it is an absolute dream to use on a flat professional surface. Thanks for watching, Jimmy 👍
It lined out the entire football pitch in around 20 minutes I think. About the same time as it would take me to overline one without using string. But obviously a lot straightener. Thanks for watching, Jimmy 👍
I've used the standard spray marker and even after cleaning them and running water through after use I've had situations where the nozzle decided to spray sideways. I can see this making a mess off a pitch if it's not watched constantly.
I haven't had any long term use with them, however we usually run warm water through them after we use it. This seems to get better results. I will be interested to see how you get on with long term use. Jimmy
Now that is a great question. You will need to talk to Turf Tank directly to get an accurate answer. Make sure you tell them you watched the Jimmy the Mower video 👍
@@JimmyTheMower the people doing the lines only used it a few times then thay went back to using a quad bike thing thay said it was faster then the robot I'd have to agree i think we have 4 pitches next to each other.
That is amazing congratulations, it's truly innovative technology which is what we need much credit to you and your team.

There's loads more videos out there now.
I only had the machine for a couple of hours so was limited on what I could do 👍
Great piece of kit that jimmy and another great review as always mate keep up your good work.👍👍
Cheers mate, glass you liked it.
Thanks for watching 👍
That's a smart bit of kit awesome video mate 👍
Thank you, and thanks for watching 👍
Brilliant video. Amazing piece of kit 👍
Thank you 💝
Such a cool bit of kit - Great video chap 😀
Yeah, a real high end product. Hopefully going to be out with them again soon and do some rugby pitches.
Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome video, mate! Props from Germany!
They are amazing machines,
Thanks for watching,
Jimmy 👍
I saw one marking out a pitch at Patterdale in the the Lake District: it was very impressive with perfectly straight lines.
They are fantastic machines and certainly the way forward if you have large numbers of pitches to line out in one area.
Thanks for watching,
Jimmy 👍

I'd be interested to see how you set it up and how easy that part of the process is.
I will have to make another video in the Autumn and go in to a bit more detail.
@@JimmyTheMower That would be great. I'll keep an eye out, thank you.
@@1977stealthy I will do my best 👌
Is the base occupying a control point ?

You just put in the dimensions you require, give it a starting point and away it goes.
It is a fantastic machine 👍
How does it work on fields with patches of dirt in some areas and some uneven areas? Any experience with this?
It's guided by GPS and works just great.

Wow. Used a beam rider for years. This looks amazing in terms of labour and skill saving but how straight are those lines? Very impressive.

would love to see a follow-up video on cleanup / maintenance
Hey Jeff, that is a fantastic idea.
I will see what I can sort out.

Would like to see it mark American football field
If you go to the Turf Tank website they have got some great videos of it marking out an American football field 👍
Wonder if this can be used to paint university parking lots and private drive ways. Any information in this direction is enormously appreciated.
Now that is a great question.
You will need to talk to Turf Tank directly to get an accurate answer.
Make sure you tell them you watched the Jimmy the Mower video 👍

@@JimmyTheMower Thank you! I have just now reached out to them. Waiting for a response.
Amazing kit
Yeah, they are fantastic.
If I had enough work to warrant one then it would be a shrewd investment 👍
Do you have any idea how much does this machine cost???
I think they are around £30,000 🤔
@@JimmyTheMower okay thank you
Brilliant 👏
Thank you 💖
Amazing
Thank you 👍
Impressive
It really is.
Thanks for watching 👍
How much is this?
Around £30,000 😳
@@JimmyTheMower wtf??? 🙈
Where are it's weapons, it'll be no good on robot wars!?
Optional extras mate.
You need to have a look at the Turf Tank website in the description 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for your support 👍
Now if it could mark out cricket pitches.....
Maybe it can 🤔
Not as good as the "cirtles we used to do with stretchy rope, now for some reason I need to buy a laptop?
I told him all about the centre egg shapes instead of circles 🤣🤣🤣
Können wir nur von träumen....
They are fantastic machines but you need a lot of work to justify the cost.
Like a lawn mower roomba
Check out my gifs on giphy.
Jimmy the mower 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Seen this on fb woulds first? But it isn't it was first created in 2016 thay had one in my town it was crap.
The one we used was pretty good. Would save you loads of time if you are lining out multiple pitches on one field
