yes they are together.. there were signs if u think about it but since it wasa kids show on nickelodeon 10 years ago they couldnt show more.. but there were some hints like Korra only wrote to Asami back or when they went out for driving or when asami complimented Korras shorter hair she blushed.. :P etc...

Yeah so Korra and Asami were together at the end and their relationship can be further seen in the comics that take place after the show. I believe there was originally supposed to be a kiss at the end but that got removed.

They confirmed it after the final episode aired, saying that was all they could do since Nickelodeon would clap them if they did more. In the comics that follow, their relationship develops as well
To bad that they spat on everything that came before and sold out and then had the balls to say that they did it because it felt right even though it was inconsistant bait.

I can understand why people prefer LOK over ATLA based on opinions, and I would respect that. But saying LOK is better than ATLA is plain wrong.
When you are gonna make this kind of comparison, you must throw preferences out of the window and look at it with a logical point of view.
Sayin LOK is better than ATLA because of maturity is wrong, because it's basen on preference. I saw people saying, "oh aang didn't take it serious enough after learning about the genocide", yeah good luck showing that to a child. Plus, LOK is not more mature, it has darker tone. The concepts and themes in both are equally mature and I'd say genocide is more mature. Saying that PTSD is more mature because it's relatable is just wrong and illogical. Bring ATLA to the tone level of LOK, I would guarantee that this argument would not even exist.
From a writing stand point, ATLA has more developed characters, more connected and consisted story line and plot. Throwing out preferences, ATLA is a better developed show than LOK.
You can say, "but Nick put obstacles" and you would bring a good point to a discussion but misuse it. Because the presence of obstacles doesn't automatically give points to LOK. It is another evidence that ATLA is a better developed show. I also wish there wasn't any obstacles but there are, and they make LOK worse not better.
When you consider all of these and say "but it has better animation", you would be right, it has better animation and I agree. But that's only one point so it doesn't change anything, plus, years of time has passed after release of ATLA, so it would be embarrassing for LOK to have a comperable animation. Most importantly, good art with even mediocre story/plot/writing is nothing in my point of view. You may have a higher tolerance about this, but looking at it logically, it's just a technique to play it safe or to lazy write and it definitely decreases the overall quality of the show.
I totally respect if you say "I prefer LOK", but saying LOK is better or ATLA is better because of your preferences is wrong. Opinions are there to share and discuss, but your opinion will not likely to be objective, so watch what you're saying and respect others please. Don't be a snowflake, not everyone has the same values as you. So before getting offended and saying "f you", try to listen with logic. If you want to compare, compare them logically and objectively.
If you're curious about my opinion, I don't really consider any of them to be one of my favourites. I prefer the general art settings of LOK, but I hate 3D on 2D. I prefer progression setting of ATLA, but I don't really like childish tone. I prefer maturity tone of LOK, but I hate over-dramatic settings. And I most probably prefer ATLA's characters over LOK's, I really couldn't connect with LOK's. So I would say, for me, it's harder to rewatch LOK, and it's harder to start ATLA. In conclusion, I prefer ATLA and I think it's a better constructed show than LOK.

One thing you didn't mention is all the lessons we have learned from Uncle Iroh. He's the one character that brought us happiness & wisdom every time we would see him.
You should do a live stream for a quick discussion about the show, like how Korra & Asami became a couple & everybody hated Korra but her parents supported her & the time Zuko went to visit Uncle and many more stuff about the show.

I honestly agree with Gabriele that Kuvira should have gotten the death penalty. There is no way that her campaign didn't cause a lot of deaths even if they weren't explicitly shown.
I'm just glad she didn't get the typical female villain treatment of "I've learned my lesson so I don't deserve to get punished at all"

Raphael carried a lot of episodes. There were some episodes (especially in S1 and 2 of Korra) I didn't really care for but I still watched your reaction to them because I knew he would carry and he didn't disappoint. Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't valued here.

Yeah, way back when I first watched it, my antenna shot up when Korra said to Asami that she was the only one she could talk to during those difficult years, but I had brushed it off thinking that there was no way Nickelodeon would go for it. I was both wrong and right. If it weren't for the execs, we'd have gotten better, and if the execs had had it their way completely, we wouldn't even have had the ending we did get.
We'll probably get to see it in the remake - if and when they ever do one in ten, twenty, or thirty years...
Well when we see the sequels remade then maybe Korra gets a 30 sec promo.

Nah I agree with my boy.. ATLA is better.. no character in LOK is better than Sokka, Aang, Toph, Katara, Zuko, Azula and Iroh. The legend of Korra villains are amazing but they were ALL rushed to hell.. their stories should've lasted a lot longer than it did. LOK relationships, 3 way love stories was DRAGGED to hell... it got to a point a hated all the characters for their dumb failed relationships

Korra saved kuvira by spirit bending Bc the vines made to power kuvira’s weapon were spirit vines. So as the avatar she has the ability to spirit bend, aang did this too, when he took away the fire lords bending.
I'm two weeks late, though I enjoyed watching your reactions to the show! I think both ATLA and LOK have their strong points.
I think Aangs story is about someone who lost everything and starts with lower power, and takes the heros journey to "slowly" get up to the big bad. They shined with the relationship of the gang, and learning about the world, and how the fire nation was effecting it, as well as "learning" the elements.
Where Korra's is more of the story where someone who starts out with "all" the power, and was out of touch with the world faces extreme obstacles to knock them down as a hero, and has to 'bounce back' constantly. Losing something at every battle. So it can feel like Korra is 'weak' because they made the 'big bads' extremely over powered and experienced. She's basically a 17-18 year old taking on these guys with way more bark than bite, where Ozai was more about Bark in my opinion compared to the five opponents.
I love both of the series. Though my own hardships give me more of a personal connection with Korra's story. All I have to say is they do a good job of showing how *hard* it is to come back after a debilitating hardship.
The creators originally wanted to put more lesbian interactions between korra and Asami but ofc Nickelodeon didn’t allow that. For the last episode the creators had a bit of a fight w nickelodeon bc they wanted make asami and korra hold hands which they obviously were able to do at the end. If the creators had it their way, we would’ve seen korra and asami love story throughoutthe show
Maybe trough season 3-4 but the whole show man theese writers are worse than I though.
I mean If you prefer Korra fair enough but objectively ATLA is far superior.
The original show had much better written and developed characters, plus the friendship between the characters was far stronger. Korra had a few good characters (I love Varrick lol) but overall most of the side characters were pretty boring and mediocre (cough cough Mako).
Some say that Korra is more mature than avatar but not necessarily, it’s just grittier and has a darker tone. ATLA’s plot was flawlessly constructed from start to finish with each season interwoven well and climaxing in a satisfying finale, while LoK meanwhile felt a lot more disjointed and messier with having unrelated plot lines each season.
Plus how can you say there’s no good fight scenes from ATLA? Katara vs Master Pakku, Katara vs Zuko, Aang vs Bumi, Aang vs Azula (both in Omashu and on the drill), Azula vs everyone in the chase, the underground catacombs battle at the end of season 2, The White Lotus battle against the fire nation soldiers, Aang vs Ozai and obviously Zuko vs Azula in the last Agni Kai.
Ok I will say that Korra probably has better fight scenes overall tho, and better villains (with the exception of Azula) but other than that Avatar massively outweighs Korra.
Legend of Korra is a good show but Avatar the Last Air bender is a masterpiece.

ATLA for me is definitely better, not only because the characters were better developed, but the story itself was better written. In Korra they addressed many serious issues along the seasons, but since it was an action driven show, they managed to scratch only the surface, not going into depth to any of them, leading to rushed result at the end.. From the villains only Amon and Zaheer were good for me and season 2 is the worst season in the whole franchise. I'm not a Korra hater, I just think it could have been a way better show if they had given more episodes to each season (minus season 2.. 😅) And personal preference, Mako for me was the most talented young bender in tok.. Just saying.. 😌

I agree. The writing in ATLA is for sure much beter. Even if they had problems whit Nickelodeon that dosnt excuse the bad writing at times ( espetialy endidngs and mutiple plot holes and plot armour for Kora ). Also i personaly liked Bolin and Mako the most, even if Mako was one of the characters that got left out afther season 1 ( to be fair all the Team Avatar characters got minimal development maybe whit Bolin as an exeption ).

Yes Korra and Asami are actually a couple but the creators didn't want to show it explicitly because this show is watched by younger generations and in some countries this is not allowed so they just did it in a way that we would understand that as the adults indirectly. Don't get me wrong I don't think there's anything wrong with that but some people are a bit sensitive about this subject.
yeah they are together. IT was in the extremely early days of LGBTQ cartoons, so they had to be careful revealing stuff. But at the end, they wanted to show it, because nobody could cancel them, because the series is done haha

Also, it wasn’t actually all that random, there were nuanced hints the entire show. Like how Asami was the only one Korra wrote letters to when she was recovering, or how she was consistently supporting her when Bolin and Mako were off being movie stars, or detectives. Upon rewatching, you may notice it wasnt as out of left field as it initially seemed. Regardless, a bold move and a prominent fuck you to Nickelodeon’s censors. You love to see it

Korrasami makes a bit more sense in retrospect, when looking for any signs, and Season 4 showed how their relationship meant more to each other than with Mako & Bolin. Shame Nickelodeon wouldn't let them show a relationship between the two back when this aired. This was as close as they could get.

It's a fighting anime like Avatar, but they take a lot of inspiration from martial arts in real life and also boxing. and It's one of my favorite shows. Muhammad Ali Jr. is in one of the later seasons, and I love how they use real fighting philosophy and actual quotes inspired from famous boxers. I think u guys would love it 😃

Personally, I liked LOK more than ATLA
It is not only the fact that it took a deeper dive into steampunk (which I loved), but also because of the higher level of maturity, depth and the fact that it didn't have to live in the shadow of the original to be great
It is just like "Ben 10: Alien Force" or "The Prisoner of Azkaban"
Plus, it is easier for me to identify with young adults than children
Outside of the few mechs we see it was just 1920 New York whit asian citizens. Not quite steampunk. Aslo the show was meant to be for the kids that watched ATLA and had grown up, just like Ben 10 Alien force.
I can definetely understand why you would prefer LOK over ATLA vecause of the maturity factor, but that doesn't decide which one is good. From a genre stand point, you can't even compare them, cause one of them literaly meant for children. That's why arguments like "oh but aang wasn't serious enough after learning about the genocide" irrelevant and illogical, good luck showing that to a children lol.
Bring ATLA to the maturity level of LOK, then ATLA is a clear win from a writing stand point. It has more developed characters, more connected storyline and more consistent lore amd plot.

Did we try to compare how many seasons it took Aang to learn all the elements compared to Korra? Korra knew all 3 yeah but she didn't master them all until she was 16. Aang mastered every element in MONTHS that normally takes Avatars years and years to master. You have to remember, the Avatar mostly isn't suppose to know they are the Avatar until their 16. Knowing the elements and mastering the elements are 2 separate things...
We are comparing what someone at the age of 16-21 I think Korra was by the end has done compared to Aang saving the world at 12, only knowing 1 element in the beginning to knowing all 4, but only mastering 2 elements by the end of the season while also learning you was stuck in an iceberg where the fire nation committed genocide on you entire nation, while literally saving the world on his own beating the Firelord by himself, no help from nobody before he was 13.
I liked Korra, I think she is fantastic and she is a awesome Avatar but she got too much help with her enemies. Aang was taking care of everyone not named Azula. They may of tied once but she was smoking him lowkey but he was bodying Everyone. Korra struggled with Amon who she didn't even really beat, Jinora saving her twice in season 2 and 3 by fairy magic and a big ass tornado, and she got mollywopped with her first encounter with Kuvira. If they might of did what they originally wanted to do and not get cut off so many seasons then maybe but Avatar by far is a better show. And Amon had nothing to do with her PTSD. The reason she couldn't get to her past lives was because she just wasn't as spiritual as Aang, that's really it. That's why she never was able to Airbend until the end and why she only had flashes of Aang until she actually meditated. It had nothing at all to do with Amon. She was having trouble getting in contact with Aang before she even knew who Amon was lol...
Well she was fighting bloodbended, another Avatar, chained up and poisoned etc. I don’t think Kuvira and her me ha tank can be compared to the likes of Azula and Firelord Ozai. Kuvira was was more powerful and Korra still beat her and blocked her powered-up cannon. There was nothing against Aang that could compare to Kuvira mech and Unalaq
All of Korra’s villains contributed to her PTSD. We literally see her have visions of them!
Anng didn't master all element in one month stop lying even at the end of the season His friends told him he still had a lot to learn. it would make sense to say he learned all 3 in one month i thought you like korra but instead you made a whole paragraph discrediting her aang got lots of help from his past life and his friends and he literally died in the avatar state while fighting azula if it wasn't for katara and her magic water the avatar cycle would have stopped even if korra got help literally ever one of her villains are more op thatn the fire lord who aang could've went an took out before the comit even azual was a bigger threat that ozai smh and you stated how korra was getting beaten which isnt true but if thats the case you should relize that she always at a disadvantage going up againt her villans when she faced amon she didnt have her avatar state which was an disadvantage against the most powerful blood bender in the franchise she went up aginst her uncle who became the dark avatar which took the light spirt out of her but still defeated him then she went against zaher and his crew which was sated that they could take out any bender and zaher also learn to fightt which gave him an advantage against korra and korra was also posin which was the advantage of her not winning she then had to fight kuvira and a giant robot which suffering from ptsd and is know full healing she has accomplish more than aang or any of the previous avatars before her that shotld tell you how powerful she is and that she has done way more etc
I think the last airbender is a way better show put together. the story line just makes sense and there so many things that they hop back on and so on. Korra just feels like hype stuff but nothing special also the side characters are garbage, theres not a single side character that I care about in korra. And about the fight scenes of the last airbender : azula vs zuko, bumi vs aang, all aangs avatar states ( water monster final of book 1 ), team avatar taking the earth kingdom palace, aang vs ozai, toph in the wwe ring fights etc.
100% agree. People act like characters in Kora where good, but in reality they where never developed outside of Kora, which in my opinion didnt even get that much development, hers was mostly like "i need this now so i get it and then maybe pretend i learned someting" and also " vilian bad so i just go forward and punch him". Even the ptsd dint make sence since she never lost a fight and aways won by fisicaly beating her enemies, and was fine afther that, also she did lose before but came back and won, so one loss shodnt realy hurt her.

Yeah for me it's just as simple as a hero being as good as their villain. Aangs toughest villains that he BEAT( because he never beat azula) was ozai and Yakon (the blood bender in the flashbacks) Korra beat Amon, Unolock who was infused with vaatu, Zaheer, and Guvira. Korra is stronger and the show is better I feel.

It’s also widely believed that Korra and Asami become a couple, and I think I remember back in the day Nickelodeon wasn’t cool with having a lesbian couple so they cut most of that plotline out but left the hints at the end, it also mirrors OG Avatar, the last scene was Aang and the woman he’s in love with, Korra and Asami are there by themselves and it ends on them embracing, just my thoughts

To be fair Im really surprised you prefer TLoK (same as me but I was told to be delusional tlok fanboy xd) but at the same time you find aang better character than Korra. From what I saw in A LOT of other reactions it's completely the other way around so for them atla is better but Korra is much better than aang. But anyway, I would obviously love to see your comparision video so I can only hope it's gonna be very soon :D
Edit: Also about 15:45 I know kuvira made huge mistake and should be indeed punished but at the same time dont forget guys that Iroh is as guilty as Kuvira as he was fire nation general and brother of the fire lord that conquered a foreign land for over 600 days so in the process of conquering ba sing se he killed, prolly tortured and robbed millions of innocent people. He also only "changed" because his son died which for me isnt really convincing argument for him to not punish him at all
How bad did the writers fuck up Unalaq was supposed to be a well intentiond ant villain but they made him pure evil by mistake what a fucking clown show.
@@samuelclayhills3298 the idea behind unalaq was that he was always evil. He only pretended to be good to be able to manipulate Korra to open the portals. Then the reason unalaq was that evil in the end was because at first Vaatu manipulated him as well but later on he completely posessed unalaq's body.
Unalaq is definitely the worst written villain in Korra but there is some depth in him people dont realise (like him being fully manipulated and posessed by vaatu or the fact that he wasnt evil for the sake of being evil) but he really deserves a bit more than he's getting rn. If not because of how well / bad he's written then he should be really praised how powerful villain he was or overall by his outfit / voice actor / bending style which was really satisfying to watch
