    Say what you want about Tebow but as a broncos fan, starting 1-4 to then making the playoffs somehow with all the 4th quarter comebacks & beating the Steelers in OT was one of the most exciting seasons ever

      It's more complicated than that. He apparently has too much of a fanbase to be a 3rd string.

      +Str8UpSavage762 U should know that Chip Kelly was the only coach willing to even give Tebow a tryout. It is not his fault that the man can't throw. Everyone wants to be an NFL quarterback, but not everyone has the skill. Tebow had plenty of chances, but he was never able to succeed. That is why he is not in the NFL

    • @ethank4692
      @ethank4692 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I am an atheist, but I can not underestimate the faith in God that Tim Tebow had in his ability as a leader and as a quarterback. His faith in Christianity was criticized and his ability to be a modern-day quarterback (2011) was noted. From everything he had done in his short time with the Denver Broncos made me admire his willpower as a person. Tim Tebow will be someone I will praise to my children. He was and will be a tremendous role model, whether it be from someone of faith or atheism, like myself. Tim Tebow should have had a chance to grow and build his abilities, it’s a shame that it didn’t happen.

      I agree with you that he wasn’t put in situations to succeed. Josh McDaniel’s was bad. John Fox was not the coach develop him being as defensive minded and run heavy gamecalling coach at the time. The jets were the exact worst place he could have gone to besides CLE or AZ. Philadelphia with chip Kelly was also probably a poor match for coaching and technique. He was not given an opportunity to develop and learn like he should have. I think he could have eventually been a middle of the pack qb.

    Only had 1 year as a starter and didn't even get to start all games and lost to the Pats which are always a really good team.
    He might have gotten better if he had more time to be a starter.

    • @STP43FAN1
      @STP43FAN1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      He was never going to get better because he cannot process the information of the game fast enough and thoroughly enough to be a truly effective quarterback - he cannot run a no-huddle attack and in the AFC Divisional Playoffs was calling timeouts because he couldn't process playcalls fast enough - and his physical limitations make it impossible for him to throw with any consistency - his front leg collapses on his throws to where he's throwing down, not out; his sequencing is ruined because his body won't allow it to proceed as good quarterbacks do.
      He was succeeding because he ran a lot, freelanced it, and opposing teams played him passively - the Patriots in Week 15 showed the league how to beat him, and that's go after him, stop dropping back trying to protect gaps, and make him have to make quarterbacking decisions on the fly. When Tebow can't just freelance and use athleticism, he fails - when he has to throw the ball and process information like Brady, he is in over his head. That is why he's out of the league - the Patriots themselves saw it firsthand when they signed him for 2013, let him run his offense, and every opposing team except the Giants attacked him directly throughout the preseason with ZERO recent game footage to fall back on.

    Everyone looks at the end of that season and says how bad he performed but every quarterback has ups and downs and he was still learning the NFL. 2011 was still only his second or third year in the league like he's practically still a rookie and is going to make mistakes, even the great QB's we know of today would make the same mistakes he did in his position.

  • @idkman360

    • @t-gotitanup9386

      How is that the coaches fault it was more the NFL coaches like Fox who screwed him for not getting a QB coach who could of help him also the NFLPA locked the league in 2011 so that didn't help him either cause the players could not have mini camps with coaches, High School and College run their offense to succeed their program can't blame Urban Myers Spread Option playbook for Tebow lack of arm talent in the end he got the job done

    • @Sentient_Blob
      @Sentient_Blob 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Santiago You can’t fix a qb motion as dogshit as Tebow’s. That motion got drilled into him for way too long. Coaches at the nfl level can only really make small changes like footwork and using the lower body. Even then those changes can be hard to make. If his high school coaches fixed his motion, he could’ve been a borderline hof

    I never felt a way about a season like I felt about the 2011 Broncos season. The 1999 Rams are up there, but that 2011 season with the Broncos was downright miraculous. You had commentators on ESPN debating, seriously, about whether divine intervention was a real thing. Never seen anything like it.

Say whatever you want about his throwing motion, foot work, or field reading ability, but the man drug a so-so squad from 1-5 to an 8-8 record AND won a playoff game. Tebow didn’t have the mechanics that an nfl QB should have but he was a hell of a hype man and teammate from what I’ve seen.

    The thing I didn't know about Tebow that I saw in this was that this dude actually was kinda calm and cool under pressure. Like for example at 5:55. And singing on the sidelines and junk 😂

    That Broncos year was the most entertaining season I've ever experienced as an NFL fan. The number of miracle wins they had... Unbelievable. Tebow got shut out of the NFL because of the media circus that followed him. But what he did in his second year was pretty incredible, all of his teammates truly believed he was some kind of conduit of divine intervention. It sounds crazy but that's the way people thought about him. I'll never forget an ESPN panel after one of the many wild finishes they had that year and the commentators were literally talking about how they started to wonder if divine intervention was a real thing.
    That's what I'll remember about Tim Tebow. He made ESPN commentators start asking, seriously, if divine intervention was a real thing.

    Tebow scored 34 times in 549 touches in his first 15.5 games and 13 plays.
    Tebow's 34 scores would rank 4th for scores by a QB in 2016. He would rank 2nd for scores per touch.
    His 19 passing TDs in 374 attempts would rank 9th for TDs per attempt in 2016.
    He did this while rushing for 937 yards, 15 rushing scores and 46 first downs. GOAT

    • @CyberviewU
      @CyberviewU 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, but he would have ranked 2nd in 2017.
      Tim Tebow scored 34 times in 549 touches in his first 15.5 games and 13 plays.
      In 2017, this would rank 2nd in the NFL for total scores by a quarterback.
      Russell Wilson led the NFL with 37 scores in 648 touches.
      Tebow was 8% more efficient at scoring per touch.
      Tebow's 19 TDs in 374 attempts would rank 4th for TDs per completion and 9th for TDs per attempt in 2017.
      Todd Gurley led the league with 13 TDs in 279 carries. Tebow had 15 rushing scores in 175 carries. 85% faster
      Tom Brady scored 32 times in 606 touches in 2017 and ranked 3rd for total scores by a QB.
      Tim Tebow scored 34 times in 549 touches in his first 15.5 games and 13 plays, which includes the Steelers playoff game, in 2010/2011.
      Brady threw a TD every 18.1 attempts. Tebow threw a TD every 19.6 attempts. Tebow scored rushing every 11.6 carries.
      Tebow was 18% more efficient at scoring per touch in his first 16 games of play than Tom Brady was this year.
      Tebow is the fastest scoring first time starting QB in NFL history in their first 16 games of playing time.
      The 2012 Broncos/Steelers game had a TV rating of 31.6 and rivaled the 2016 Broncos/Patriots game with 31.8.
      Tebow had the popularity and drawing power of Manning and Brady combined.
      Yea, he was that good. The NFL didn't want him or his fans because of who they are, not how he played.

    2:44 looks like good throwing mechanics to me. The NFL is funny because they pick and choose who they think should change in how they play the game. You know one coach passed on Brett Favre, just thought he was a punch line in Atlanta (he had personal issues his first 2 years but who wouldn't if they weren't playing). GM Wolfe took a chance and is now one of the most respected GMs in the league or the league has seen after the Favre trade.
