Thank You for this 4K Upload! I put 200hrs into this game on PS2 back in 2007 so I feel no need to play The Zodiac Age now but I love how beautiful this version looks!!!
There's a theory about these espers. The theory is that these espers are past ff villians that have been reborn as espers in order to help save the world that they once tried to destroy as a form of redemption or eternal punishment for their attempts to destroy life. Example zeromus both fits the description and abilities of another zeromus in ff 4 as the final boss of the same name. Exodus is actually exdeath as in the game exdeath obtain the power of the void and became a tree like entity as the final boss kinda similar to exodus tree like form. The theory makes sense considering that " beings of strange form and appearance made by the gods in ancient times. (Like Chaos, exdeath, zeromus and other villians) Favored with great strength and intellect, the Espers knew power far beyond that of men, but their power made them proud, and at length they sought to challenge the gods (the villains all had great knowledge and power of the world and most fell to evil as they felt like they were above mortals and wanted to change the world to suit them). Seeing this, the gods were angered and struck down their blessed children, and binding their souls and flesh with the Glyph of the Beast, they stole their freedom for all eternity (the gods being angered and concerned about their perfect beings disrupting the natural order that they chose heros like Cecil Harvey, cloud, squall, warrior of light to face off and destroy the villians to bring order thus plot armor and chosen Heroes). Now they are bound to live only when summoned by their Glyph, to serve whosoever called them forth (cursed to know be protectors and guardians to those they originally deemed weak and now force to destroy new villians or creatures that might have similar goals like them in the past) Its just a fun theory but it does make sense In a way lol
@@MatthewSchooley94 hard to say I'll have to make a list of all of the summons and go through each game and its secrets to see what I come up with. The last one i found was the knights of the round that was made up of former kings in ff15 kings glaive. In ff1t kings glaive (movie) they appear as statues that come alive to help defend the city against the weapons and is strongly connected to a ring similar to doom train in ff8 (possible connection hard to say). I could be wrong about the whole idea but its something interesting and fun to look into
@@NotceDragon All right, then. I've already pinpointed Zalera; he's obviously meant to be Kefka due to his connection with death, angelic imagery, and of course his laugh.
@@MatthewSchooley94 thats a very good possibility.....unless the next final fantasy game introduces a villain couple they change into a Gemini type final boss. But I like that possible idea
As much as I love this JRPG, I wish there was more detailed animations for the summons like it happens on FFVIII. At this remaster they should've added some extras. Like buffing the summons and calling them Scions instead of just espers... You should be able to pick a summon and order him to do some concurrency that only appear in this game randomly at the quickenings... Like your Chaos casting Aeroga, Your Mateus casting Frostga... And the list goes... Skins for the characters... Customization... Unfortunately the summons of the game are really underpowered. Imagine *your* summon being capable of doing those spells according to their elemental nature at *your* will th-cam.com/video/pBheDfR8o3E/w-d-xo.html Square Enix should really consider an update for this remaster since its name is " *Zodiac* *Age* "
I think zalera is like jenova. Due to its form, The female counterpart of him seems like the one from the shinra's cask but with a black hair and the skull one was like jenova mutant merge together.
thats his priestess from befor he was smited by his creators the occuria for rebelling against them. when he was cast out of giruvegan he fused with her.
It's like their intros are super cool and all, but the actual attack's/explosions are so weak and fast, it's like, so much for that? Every single one I wish the explosions lasted longer or were just bigger and flashier.
These cinematics lack speed. Watching in 1.25x is much better in my mild opinion. Some of these summons moves are very simple it doesn't worth watching more than 30 seconds
FF12 probably had the worst summons in the whole series. Both in design and lore. You just stumble across them in the world, they have zero purpose and little to no relevance in the story. And they all look like weird abominations. I mean... yeah, that's kind of creative and all, but... what the heck? Their entry cutscenes are kinda ok, but their attacks are boring and uninspired as heck. Generic rays and laserbeams, generic explosions and jumping camera angles. I never really used them. FF12 is also the only FF game I never finished, there really came lots of issues together.
I'm a visual fanatic and love HD remasters esp if at 60fps. Thank you!
Zodiark looks like something straight of the Bible, holy shit
Real form of angels described by bible
The special effects of this game, a ps2 game puts even a LOT of current-gen games to shame.
I almost never use Esper summoning. Thank you for uploading this. 4K and 60FPS is also looks great 😎👌

no one :
not a soul :
Shemhazai : YEET!
Say what you want about XII's summons but you can't deny how creatively they're designed and how unpredictable their attacks are.
Seeing these guys in FFXIV is a treat.

Makes perfect sense, really
Chaos, Mateus, Famfrit, Zeromus, and Exodus are all based on the villains from the first five games. What about the others, though?

And to think Ramza Beoulve and his allies would centuries later fight and defeat most of these beasts when they became known as the Lucavi. . .
