This run was inspired by this video from zedamex.

You'll probably notice like in previous videos I had to use pauses to adjust the emulator's input lag spikes (NOT the PC itself) from time to time so they wouldn't interfere with the frame that I needed to input to get the rainbow circle.

Uhm, well actually TAS is a "Tool-Assisted Speedrun" or "Tool-Assisted Superplay". It usually means speedrunning a game with an emulator with the goal of creating a theoretically perfect playthrough. You might be wondering what the "Tool-Assisted" part means though: basically, when you do a TAS, you can go frame-by-frame through a video game, so you will be able to perform perfect inputs in it. Sometimes savestates, branches, slow-down and macros/scripts are also used. Though these tools are probably not used in this video that much (because all you need to do is time the inputs perfectly), these tools allow people to play the games with precision and accuracy beyond what humans can do. You may now think "But that's basically cheating!", but no, TAS playthroughs are usually used to show the fastest possible way to beat the game, or some very difficult way to save some time in speedruns. In this TAS video, the point is to showcase a theoretical perfect completion of the Final Remix from a game called "Rhythm Heaven Megamix"; it's also known as "Rhythm Paradise Megamix" in Europe, "Rhythm Tengoku: The Best+" in Japan and "Rhythm World: The Best+" in Korea. It is the fourth entry in the Rhythm Heaven series released for the Nintendo 3DS on June 11th 2015 in Japan, June 16th 2016 in North America, October 21st 2016 in Europe, October 22nd 2016 in Australia and December 1st 2016 in South Korea. In this game, you have to play through a variety of Rhythm minigames, while tapping the correct buttons on time. There are a total of 108 games in Rhythm Heaven Megamix, although this video only focuses on the Final Remix; it's a medley of 28 different rhythm games along with the Introduction and the endless games, excluding Charging Chicken. (And the other games are included in either the Left-Hand Remix or the Right-Hand Remix).

The fact that a perfect 100 ends up being a Superb is kind of anticlimactic.
Well this is a feat that no human can achived so that is why they never coded it to have a perfect.
@@dice7800 Not really. The game only checks if you get a miss or a barely on any input. If you do then you can’t get a perfect. As long as you don’t get a miss or barely, you could do as bad as you wanted and still get a perfect.

Golds ranking system was scuffed! I swear I missed once on Rockers 1 and I get an OK but then I do it again and miss maybe like- 3 or 4 beats. Superb!
@@hchich2528 i think it depends on what inputs you miss. I messed up once (barely) on fillbots 2, got an ok. Messed up like 3 times on another 3ds? Superb.

the fact that the 1 in 100 is off centered really makes it obvious that the devs really did not expect someone to get 100 in flow
0:45 I love how the TAS perfect sounds slightly delayed. That's how fucked this part of the final remix is.
i know i'm a year late but its actually because of the emulator, citra, having a bug that causes the music and the gameplay to but just slightly off, with that and it missing inputs the emulator is not optimized well for a rhythm game

@@vincells Yeah, most emulators have those kinds of things where I'd there is too much visual interactions it'll commit lag spikes, basically causing multiple times of rhythm change.

During the marching segment, what exactly is the input when the drill sergeant says "right face turn" while marching? I swear I've tried both A+dpad-right as well as dpad-right alone and both ways he gets upset with me.

I was wondering what was going on every so often, looks like the TAS bot paused the game every so often, I guess because reasons?
Perfecting this one was really tough for me, I always had to play through tears. Not of frustration, but of emotion, the second half of the remix is the title themes of the four games in order, and it would remind me of earlier times in my life which were not so great. This IP really helped me out through those times.
