Hi, Jeremy See, have you ever had a technical problem when you connect your CASIO TONE cts 300 to PC? For some reason, my PC(ASUS windows 10) does not recognize my cts 300 so that I cannot choose MIDI input on the cakewalk app. I used to connect them easily. since I saw this video. Any possible reason or recommendation would be appreciated.
Thanks Jeremy, this helps so much!! However I have a problem here. I'm trying to connect my CTS200 to my cubase 5 via micro usb cable. There is an obvious latency even though I have tried out different cables. Does this mean I need to connect it via audio interface/ mixer to solve this problem? Or do you have better suggestions? Looking forward to your advice, and thanks again for providing so much useful info all the time!
Sounds good, I notice you connect Midi keyboard direct to Laptop with usb/midi cable, Then audio interface also to laptop with usb cable. Am I correct? I did not see Two usb cables into laptop during the latter part of your video. One from Audio interface & One from Midi keyboard. I notice the audio interface has old style 5 pin Din Midi in/out. would it be possible to utilise these sockets with an older style 5 pin midi cable, as my Casio CTK-671 uses. Therefore would only require the single usb cable from the audio interface to the PC for both Midi & Audio inputs.
Yes you can use the 5 DIN MIDI on the audio interface. I demonstrated the USB connection on laptop for clarity. When I say down for the screen recording there are 2 USB to my desktop which is what I used for the screen recording.
Hi, my focusrite only has one input for jack cable, can I do it with just one input instead of two? Also, why do you even need to do that if the MIDI data is being recieved by your computer? Surely the audio will come from the virtual instrument not the keyboard itself.. I'm confused why you put the headphones jack into focusrite at at all.
Your video is great! You as always have done a perfect job to simply explain the complex things. Could you tell us some other bit of information: is it possible to play midi notes from DAW on the keyboard's speakers? I saw, you can set up not only midi in on the DAW but midi out to the Casio keyboard. Can you control the keyboard's built in sounds by the DAW?
Yes, you an control the keyboard sounds using MIDI. However, with the tons of high quality free virtual instruments out there, there is not much benefit to do that unless you have a good keyboard.
What's the advantage of using Focusrite? Since it is just taking an analog audio input from the keyboard, can' we just plug the audio directly to your PC's line in jack (I know not all computers have it).
I'm a keyboard novice (guitar player) Does this focus rite unit act as a midi controller? Or do you need separate cabling from the keyboard to the computer that I'm not seeing here. Also is the 4i4 unit the best one, or can the cheaper 2i2 unit accomplish the same thing? My guitar rig uses the DIN plugs, so I'm a little unsure of how you're controlling cakewalk from the keyboard ;o)
Hello, thanks for the video. Is the Focusrite device mandatory to use the built-in tones? I was able to use the virtual instrument, but couldn't use the built-in tones because my computer does not recognize Casio keyboard as a audio input, only MIDI Input.
Hello jeremy, can i ask... is touch sensitive keys also make diferent voices when you use it as midi controller? Is it rcognise velocity when recording as midi controller?
Hi Jeremy, Can You Please Tell Me How Did You Played Built-in Intro Here 8:30 (Means How Did You Enabled It? In Dance Mode Or Other Option? Please Tell Me! Thanks.
Hello and thank you for doing these videos. I'm new to this. Question: Do I need an audio interface when using a CT-S300 Casiotone? I connected the Casiotone to a laptop via USB. I get piano notes into the DAW -- and hear the notes coming out of the Casiotone speakers -- but I can't hear anything coming OUT of the laptop speakers or OUT of the Casiotone speakers. After hours, I'm still nowhere. Your help is greatly appreciated.
@@rizkyarmansyah7726 You can record your voice separately and import that into the DAW, or you can directly record in the DAW itself. There should be plenty of tutorials online.
Hello Jeremy. New to your channel. Very interesting content to have, thank you. Btw if I just want to use the CTS300 as a midi controller (to use softwares like Class Maestro) I just need a Micro USB midi cable? Frankly it looks like those for charging the powerbanks.
@@JeremySee thanks for your prompt reply. Much appreciated. I was looking for a value for money compact keyboard for a while, I think after seeing all your videos, this CTS300 should be it.
Hi, Jeremy. Nice channel and very useful for eternal beginners as myself. My issue with that cakewalk software is that it "captures" my audio and I'm not able to listen anything else except sound from the software (no youtube, no videos, no games, no nothing), so if I want to follow and play along another song (as I usually do), I'm not able to. Do you know how to avoid or fix that? I was reading some comments in forums and they said you get that when you have a single soundboard or something (things I don't actually understand). Any help is welcome because I had to return my new midi controller because of that.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if my laptop has a 3.5mm jack already, I can use it to record output from the keyboard and won't need an external audio interface.
Is there any latency? I am confused whether to buy this electronic keyboard or just midi keyboard. My primary work will be music production but if this casio comes with midi option and standalone keyboard then I will go with this... Please let me know about latency... (I will be working on cubase and reaper DAW) Thanks
hi jer, when you used as virtual instrument, can this keyboard switching octave or transposition from the keyboard? not from inside the daw? thanks in advance.
Just a specific question, does the speaker of CTS300 and LKS250 the same in terms of power and quality? Or is LKS250 better? Trying to decide between the 2 and I prefer the one with pitch bend (CTS300) but if the LKS250 speakers are better then I'll go with that. Thanks!
I’m willing to buy this keyboard to get back with practice. But does a regular headphone jack cable would work to isolate the sound output only to the headphone? Or do I need any kind of adapter?
Can I just connect it to an iPhone using garage band? (With the camera adapter of course.) so Just piano out into the iPhone through the camera adapter. Without that audio interface. Is that possible?
I have a MACBOOK PRO 2012 USING OS CATALINA 10.15.6. I HAVE a simple micro usb cable but my mac does not read the keyboard to use my CasioTS300 keyboard. Your suggestions, please. Thank you.
the audio interface(focusrite) is not mandatory here i suppose.that is required only if u want to record the internal casio tones onto the DAW.otherwise without focusrite u could use the casiotone as a midi controller by connecting only the usb midi cable to DAW(but in this case you can use only the virtual instruments available in the DAW and not the tones from the keyboard)

Very helpful tutorial , So what if we want to insert a vocal sound recording into a musical instrument? Thankyou
I explained during my video.
@@JeremySee umm sorry , i mean insert my voice recording to combine with the music instrument
Yes
@@JeremySee thanks for your prompt reply. Much appreciated. I was looking for a value for money compact keyboard for a while, I think after seeing all your videos, this CTS300 should be it.
Hi Jeremy, can i connect via USB like other MIDI Controller (Exp: AKAI MPK II) instead of connect into 2 input from any Audio Interface?
Do we have to use an Audio Interface to use as a midi controller? can we connect to the computer audio in port?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if my laptop has a 3.5mm jack already, I can use it to record output from the keyboard and won't need an external audio interface.
The audio out from the laptop will be fed into the keyboard, which can cause problems I guess, but that can be fixed using an audio splitter.
can't we connect it or cts300 directly to the pc without that interface???
Is there any latency?
I am confused whether to buy this electronic keyboard or just midi keyboard. My primary work will be music production but if this casio comes with midi option and standalone keyboard then I will go with this...
Please let me know about latency... (I will be working on cubase and reaper DAW)
Thanks
Sir, is this velocity sensitive ?
It is
This is good content. Make more of this stuff
can you record directly into computer without focusrite?
You can only record MIDI without an audio interface.
@@JeremySee what does that mean? Audio interface? Can I record directly from Casio to computer? How?
hi jer, when you used as virtual instrument, can this keyboard switching octave or transposition from the keyboard? not from inside the daw? thanks in advance.
yes
Hi jeremy see
Can we connect it as midi to computer without audio interface
You can see him connecting it directly at 1:45. Also, the audio interface doesn't have a USB in. So I would say yes.
Can i used another DAW like cubase or logic and used this casio as midi controller ?
Hi! Can I do this exact thing with the ctx 700?
Sir, is there any latency while using with DAW?
sure
Hi Jeremy. Does it work with Garage Band or Logic Pro X?
As long as your keyboard is correctly recognized as a MIDI device, it should work with any DAW.
Which is better for daw Midi keyboard (Nektar se 49 )or key board (Casio tone cts-200)???
Which one did you buy? I have the same question at the moment.
Just a specific question, does the speaker of CTS300 and LKS250 the same in terms of power and quality? Or is LKS250 better? Trying to decide between the 2 and I prefer the one with pitch bend (CTS300) but if the LKS250 speakers are better then I'll go with that. Thanks!
Can we do this Yamaha PSR E 463

I’m willing to buy this keyboard to get back with practice. But does a regular headphone jack cable would work to isolate the sound output only to the headphone? Or do I need any kind of adapter?
Does the 3.5 to ts have to be a pair?
Can I just connect it to an iPhone using garage band? (With the camera adapter of course.) so Just piano out into the iPhone through the camera adapter. Without that audio interface.
Is that possible?
Can I connect to my FL studio DAW?
Probably yes, im not using fl but there must be a Part called "preferences" in The FL Studio settings where you can select your Keyboard as midi

Can we use behinger uum2 x 2 audio interface
Will this work if I use a double sided 6.3 cable from my casiotone to my audio interface?
What about for the MacBook Pro? Does it need an interface for GarageBand? Because I’ve heard that the Casio tones don’t need any drivers for mac
I have a MACBOOK PRO 2012 USING OS CATALINA 10.15.6. I HAVE a simple micro usb cable but my mac does not read the keyboard to use my CasioTS300 keyboard. Your suggestions, please. Thank you.
Have you test it with logic pro?
Question ...whats the best sequencer out of all the keyboards under $500.00 keyboards for internal recording???
Sir Can you please tell me how to connect it without an audio interface? Thanks
the audio interface(focusrite) is not mandatory here i suppose.that is required only if u want to record the internal casio tones onto the DAW.otherwise without focusrite u could use the casiotone as a midi controller by connecting only the usb midi cable to DAW(but in this case you can use only the virtual instruments available in the DAW and not the tones from the keyboard)
@@djpg3882 thanks man,
So if you have a guitar synth can you use it to control the keyboard?
Can we connect casiotone to macbook? Or is ot works only in windows??
