Andreas Barcelona yeah but at the time, Japan was a little on edge with the gun violence and blatant drug use in show; plus the time slot they had wasn’t helping. Only 12 episodes were to be aired until another network came along and saved the show.
nice shoutout to yoko kanno in the beginning... she is a composing GENIUS! and likes to dress weird, there is a concert up where she is performing the opening song of Cowboy Bebop in a red leather coat, looks almost like a raincoat.
I think Cowboy Bebop is more of a cinematic show than an Anime with so many cool scenes and soundrack that i find difficult for any person not to love it. For me, and for many people, Cowboy Bebop is one of the best Anime ever.

The emotional tugs you get from this anime is truly something special. The number of times it's able to bring tears to my eyes is beyond anything animated I've seen. The most impressive part of it being that it's able to do it without any cheap tricks. Everything about it is exceptionally well done and incredibly nuanced. The writing, animation, voice acting, world building, story arcs (both main arc and stand alone episodes), music and character personalities were all created with heart and passion. How often is it that you come across an anime where all these aspects are done so well and work together so perfectly?
"You know that reaction channel you wanted me to watch? Ya, they just talked about time for 10 minutes straight." In regards to the quick cuts, I'm wondering if they were trying to emulate Jet glancing at Alisa. What it definitely accomplished was creating tension in the scene by making it seem like the conversation was rushed and time was short.
Ahh, it's nice when people understand this episode. So often do people not get why Elisa did what she did and just paint her as a villain. Thank you for paying attention!

Hell, even with Rhint, she made her own choice and he involved himself. So she still can't avoid the men in her life trying to protect her from making her own choices. That's the point. It's not being spoiled if you want to live your own life and decide for yourself the path you take.

If he'd been more open, maybe she could have made those mistakes while with him, then he could have helped her grow as a person. My point is, they're both at fault. This is my favorite anime of all time. I found it on adult swim when I was in high school. The first episode I caught was the last one. So I ended up watching the entire series already knowing how it ended. I love this show. Everything is epic. The animation, the stories, the voice acting, and of course the music. P.S. I don't suppose you guys could do another Watanabe favorite of mine, Samurai Champloo. I'm loving these reactions. Can't stop watching.
Definately, cowboy bebop is all these you mentioned, plus it is one of the most realistic anime, with so many great stories per episode, and with many great messages, mainly referring to people's past and the burden they carry.
I love every episode in this show (yes even Toys in the Attic) but I think this episode has to be in my top 3 and is definitely one of the most underrated episode of the series. Jet Black is my fav character of the Bebop and anything about him is just gold imo. He’s the black dog and when he bites he don’t let go. Which I love so much because it further supports the picture he paints his pass self to be. Like.... SPOILERS!!!! He didn’t know when to quit which ended up costing him his arm you know? By “Being too gun ho and getting ahead of the game” he couldn’t let the syndicate case go which led to his partner shooting off his arm. Man I just fucking love this series and I love Jet Black he’s such an awesome character. Like I love the entire crew of the Bebop but Jet has to be my favorite.

You guys should really check out Space Dandy after you're done with Bebop. Just like Bebop, it's what I'd consider an anime masterpiece (albeit for different reasons), and is directed by the same guy, Shinichiro Watanabe. Whereas Cowboy Bebop excels at storytelling, Space Dandy excels at experimental artwork/animation. What I mean by 'experimental' is that nearly every episode directed by someone other than just Watanabe, and the role of Animation Supervisor is also generally someone different than the previous episode, leading to different artwork and animation styles throughout most of the episodes, it's basically a huge group project by multiple members of the anime industry consisting of artists, directors and storyboard writers. Oh, and of course both series have great music ;)

Regarding bounty system: I suppose that the sum "for a head" can be issued not only by the Solar system police, but also by the "plaintiff" who suffered from the actions of the criminal, and who is "seeking justice" by making the sum more lucrative for bounty hunters, and therefore - making "the head" a priority target for apprehension. TL;dR: I think the loan shark or his men might've added a few hundred thousand of woolongs so that Elisa's boyfriend would've been caught one way or another.
***Spoilers ahead*** What I love about this, Faye's and Ed's episodes is that they all move on from their past. That clock toss exemplifies that so well. They move on and kept on walking, contrary to our main character Spike. He latches on his past and never lets it go, killing him in the process.
Think about this way guys. If your spouse was making all the decision for you. And worse, they were constantly right about it. How would you feel? Eventually, you'd like feel like she did. Smothered and needing freedom.
i was about to post the same thing, I know people will say that jet was in the right because he was just doing what a good man would do and that is taking care of their wife and I'm not saying that their wrong but people need to realize that their is a difference between protecting someone and not allowing them to make their own decisions because your afraid of them getting hurt, in a way its kind of what a helicopter parents would do to their kids(which is kind of funny because the guy name is jet) and I think this is why she continued to rely on others rather than herself despite the fact that she said she wanted this freedom. I think jet realized this at the end and maybe started to think that he should have treated her like the way she treated him and that is just being there fir her things get tough, I would also like to point out that its possible that his relationship with his crew may have something to do with this because even though they don't get along they still have a functional team work relationship with each other because they a treat each others as equals. Anyway I'm sorry for the long rant.

I think Elisa is hard for dudes to understand, might be more of a girl thing - that's why "nice guys finish last" is a thing and "bad boys" is a thing. The bounties are set by the people posting them - it shows how rich and powerful the people that put a bounty on him is (the gangsters they pissed off) and how badly they want him.

Waltz For Zizi (played at the end and in tavern) is probably one of my favorite Bebop tracks.

So I’m watching along with the guys and so far this might be my favorite episode. Though I love Ballad of Angels, this just resonated a little bit more with me I guess. But there’s still plenty to go , so I’ll probably have a new favorite by the end.
