this is a huge dose of my culture.....thank God for Trinidad and thank you all for the post and your comments......ah feeling home now!!!!
In 2023 it is still relevant i love it
2023 Better late than never
Rio Manzanares, the Sonora Matancera's version is very famous in Colombia. Congratulations for all the respect that you show for your Heritage.
This is definitely one of the VERY BEST " Original Parang " Performances I've ever heard . It's MAGNIFICENT .
❤ Traditional Parang! Dislike that socaparang!!!
Only in Trinidad an English speaking country would they be singing in Spanish on a French Heritage Site in Lopinot. That area is close to the Count's house. Rich diversity and history.
hahaha So true only in Sweet Trini ..
Tim Titre-Liverpool The coco plantations in Lopinot probably has something to do with that
I Guess so I miss this so much never miss it when I live in T & T
Solama6
So la mere parang
I love the interaction where the guy with the hat in the back was starting to sing and Paul started singing, not realizing what had happened....the the guy in the middle then intervened and asked Paul to 'leh him geh ah verse'....and that verse was such a sweet addition! Great vibes, great interactions, great music!
From time to time during the years I pull up this video and enjoy it immensely. Lopinot was so beautiful in the past years but when I visited last year it was a disaster. How some rehabilitation works are being done. This place is too beautiful to just neglect.
This brought a smile and tears at the same, reminds me of my dad and I love the passion in Mr. Hernandez singing. Bless them for this , I'm always coming bk here ..
This is so infectious...how I miss those days!
I am a young trinidadian and I love the Parang within St. Joseph, as this being our great festivities, and as a manager I love this??? This man has it going on with his voice, he is glorious??? I love to hear the Chac - Chac : - ))

That's is music I love
I have heard many versions of Rio Manzanares, but this is the best. He sings with joy in his voice. I also love to listen to Duo Manzanares version.
Smile on my face, since my most celebrated Christmas was with my great-grand mother. Could not understand a lick of what said but it sounded real good, enough to dance and have fun. I was about 5-6yrs old. Just like right now. It had a sound of happiness to a child's ears. Enjoyable childhood memories. YEAH!!!
Dude went off🇹🇹💯👍🏾
Rio Manzanares es una canción del folklore venezolano. Me alegra que la canten en Trinidad :-)
I had a Trini venezuelan tio. RIP uncle Alcolor. A kind and gentle man..

2:27: Playing cuatro in the forefront on the right is Venezuelan, Jose Hernandez. He was my cuatro instructor at the Instituto Venezolano para la Cultura y Cooperacion in POS. He was very kind to me when I first started 30 years ago. I will forever be grateful for all the help he gave me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jose. Espero que esta bien.
This is the closest you can get to the original/authentic parranda of Venezuela. Paul and the entire band including José Hernández, my friend from IVCC you all are amazing. Talent at its best.

Del carajo, buenisimo, me hace recordar las parranditas de borrachitos en la playa de San Luis, Cumana.
Aqui el ron es clave para que la vaina salga bien.
@@llanossabana4367😁😁😁 a few shots of rum sweeten the vocals and free up the bones
I love how the Senior Parang entertainer screams and expresses his himself AYE!!! OYE!!! This fits just within the parang flavour, a young patriot. From Maraval yuh know and really enjoyed this, I know Ronoman, lets get something from him, for he is so active: - )) : - )) : - ))
This wa a long time ago, hope all these people are still doing good.
Yes he's still going strong I saw a video of him in lopinot singing with a younger group
GOD forever bless Trinidad and Tobago how can we not LOVE you
Well done
Love ❤️ my parang, he knows how to enjoy himself
Looks like he has been celebrating all day!!🍾 🎄
Getting ready to make my Pastels … in the freezing cold lol! Will have to use extra pepper sauce. Remembering how hard it must have been for my family to go from beach to blizzard.
Trini Freeview, Trinidad is as real as they come. We the people make this country beautiful. We are the most tolerant people in the world. Although Trinidad and Tobago is considered one nation they have different histories of occupation and colonisation. I consider Trinidad one place and Tobago another. Tobagonians are different to Trinis. They have their own lifestyle, culture and accent.
Vaya!
Just pulled out me hand made cuatro; it's late but I'm gonna start repairing it for christmas. The joints split 2 days after leaving trinidad on a 2 day visit. Made a trip with a business assc. to erin where I met a cuatro maker who passed 8 months later. he described the last one he made which I have as a tenoir cuatro.
this christmas we 'll get some sounds if I can have it repaired in time.
He love what he does.... authentic parang music.
Which makes it even more entertaining.
Just beautiful.. And rich.
I just learned about this music today, I’m Venezuelan and it’s very similar to our music, and it’s is Spanish, uses the same instruments
Lol
