    Very cool system... but please tell me there is just a simple *ding* and you're not forced to have one of these obnoxious chimes.

    I selected a simple “ding” chime to be played once the motion sensor is activated. However, once activated the “ding” chime repeats 3 times. It seems this is a default setting, is there a way to change the default setting that when the motion sensor is activated the “ding” chimes only once instead of 3 times?

    I need a motion sensor to be activated only as someone walks from one room to the next through an open doorway. Does the motion sensor in the video have a narrow enough field of view to only trigger the sound as someone walks through the doorway and not be triggered if they are just walking up to the door way?

      Yes, depends how you position your motion sensor. In addition you can use masking tape to narrow the sensor detection window.

    I can’t get mine to make any sound
    Lights up but no sound ? I’ve tried repairing pushing volume button but it’s like it’s turned off

    I like mine, but it randomly plays "London Bridge is FallingDown" all the time without button pushes. Any idea why this would happen?

      +Chris Twiggs It is possible there is a conflict with another wireless device in the area that is on the same radio signal frequency. It is rare but can happen.

    Each button has to be paired with its corresponding melody in each receiver. What happens to the pairing if there is a power cut lasting several seconds? I ask because I ordered a similar product, which loses the pairing after about 4 seconds power-down and goes back to the default chime, which is not very loud. My part of the world suffers several power cuts during the Winter storms. Mine door bell advertises 36 melodies, so clearly, there are differences between the one you demonstrate and mine.
    When you have selected the melody, how long afterwards can you press the button to pair them? On mine, it's 10 seconds, which doesn't allow time to sprint from the front door to my workshop out in the back, so the button has to be physically detached and brought to the receiver - which is inconvenient to say the least. I can't take the receiver to the button for pairing, because it would lose the pairing on its way back to its resident wall plug.
    I don't know anything about the similarities/differences of your unit and mine, but I'm disappointed in the one I purchased.

      We have new ringtones that have more traditional tones than other doorbell brands. As for pairing the receiver and transmitter - we suggest you bring the transmitter near to the receiver (or vice versa) in order to perform the pairing function.

      That makes this kind of doorbell so inconvenient as to be not worth buying.
      If I have three doorbells (as I have), one on the front door, one on the back door and one on the side door, and three receivers, one downstairs, one upstairs and one in my outside workshop, every time I have a power cut - which happens several times during the Winter months - I need to go and detach all three buttons from their respective doors and bring them to the receiver in order to reprogram them? With three buttons, I have three operations to pair them to the melodies in each of three receivers, so there are nine operations in all. This may happen twice in the same week. You say "we suggest you bring the transmitter near to the receiver (or vice versa) in order to perform the pairing function." The "vice versa" doesn't work, because if I bring the receiver from my workshop close to the front door to reprogram it, it will lose that information when I unplug it to take it back to the workshop.
      I am currently programming an ATtiny85 microprocessor to make mains on-timer for lights, kitchen appliances, etc. The processor is similar to the one used in a doorbell. They cost about £2 each if bought individually, but in the quantities used by manufacture, they would cost only pennies - yet they have non-volatile memory in them that would be able to store the paring information to relate a button to a melody, so that if the unit lost power, that information would not be lost. When power is restored, it would work as it did before. I can only conclude that these doorbells are programmed by somebody who sees his job as 'boring' - someone who is not really interested in the product.
      The reason why I'm looking at doorbell reviews is to find out if somebody is offering a better product than the one I bought, because I received it only a few days ago, and I'm on the point of sending it back to the seller if somebody else is selling a more user-friendly product. From what you say, it seems that the one you are reviewing is not the one I want either. If it was, I would buy it.

    I want to purchase 6 of the L series system, each to be used for a different apartment in the same building. Will I be able to pair each of the six independently without creating "cross talk" ringing more than one chime at a time?

    • @sadotech
      @sadotech  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you will be able to. The Starpoint doorbell units can be paired to work independently.
