Hi, I guess the plant which is sold to you as Lavender plant is not that. It looks like Dusty miller plant. I have seen Lavender plants being grown in European cities. The leaves are different. If you have Google Lens in your mobile, click on the picture of the plant and check. You can search in Google too for the plant name.
I have often seen nursery staff in Mangalore giving wrong info on plant names. Only few of them are knowledgeable.

Yes it is dusty miller. Also it may repel Some mosquitoes to some extent..just like marigold And lemon grass.. only if it's planted in large amounts near the house.. check out for the care of dusty miller.. sometimes they may not survive due to our weather conditions..
Bush pepper is convenient nowadays compared to the climbing one..
It's a pity that nurseries around here do not give the right information
