A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

I love the harrowing and beautiful mix of dissonance, harmony, and melody.
Ne Obliviscares rides the line between technical and speedy virtuosity, and careful and expressive composition

This song is actually from their first album hahaha, these guys are my favourite band ever they create complex and layered songs. There are actually two vocalists in the band, Xenoyr who does the harsh vocals and Tim who does the clean vocals along with the violin. You can pick any of their songs and find a masterpiece in my opinion hahaha

There's 2 vocalists in this one. The clean vocals actually come from the violinist. And this is from their first album

Yes, Dean. I did. I knew you'd get a huge kick outta this one. 😊 I'm really glad you liked it.💕
You had great notes on the drumming. I have never heard such a sustained double bass kick segment so artfully done.
This band is unique as well because of the clean vocals overlaying the growls. Who knew we'd need both?
In this track the bass is prominent in the mix, the Spanish guitar is warm and golden in tone, and the scratchy yet elongated and poignant violin work drags blades across your skin and makes you FEEL. It's like exquisite and delicate artwork chopping you to bits as you admire it.💘
I do hope you explore more of Ne Obliviscaris. They are an Australian band, and they've been around for over ten years. Might surprise you to know Tim Charels is the (clean) vocalist in this track as well as the violin player!
I think you'll love their other work, too. Maybe a full album react to Portal of I??? 😁

Thank you for introducing this song.
I shared it with a Japanese progressive rock fan group.

Their intro reminded me of Kansas

Have you heard the Absence of Presence yet?

Your photo of the singer is actually the harsh vocalist. Tim Charles is the clean vocalist (also the violinist). Xenoyr (your photo) writes most of the lyrics and does the album art. They’re excellent live.
