Saw one of these last evening at Hancock MD the Fire Rescue had one on display. They were very polite answering questions they explained all the functions in detail. They have had it for 2 years now and no problems.
Just received a linear actuator today and looking forward to installing it this weekend. In a strange twist of fate; my 2011 6x6 has an earlier '03-'04 bed on it and I see your rig has a box from my vintage on. Am installing this to also help with the lack of bed latch so I can mount the spray tank and boom at the rear without worrying about it tipping up. Love these 6x6's for working around the farm!
That is funny yours has the older bed and mine has the newer bed. I found that bed local so decided to install it to update the rig. I was going to keep that Ranger but ended up selling it.
+Game Bred Duramax I use it every day. When I had to sell my last Ranger about 2 years ago it really sucked. Sometimes you have to sacrifice short term to get ahead long term. This is the Ranger I really wanted anyway. Just took a few years to get it.
Using your 6x6 for hauling much heavier loads than I do, your probably right in going larger. My 4x4 is used mostly for Oak firewood and an occasional load of River Gravel. With the mounting points you gain almost 1/3 above rated load capacity. I do simply love the total lack of noise your actuator generates. I totally agree! Why lift when you can flip a switch.
+Game Bred Duramax It looks like the rear tires take most of the weight and wear more than the center tires. The fronts have been replaced by someone so they must have worn even faster than the rear tires. Getting a thousand hours out of the rear tires is pretty good I think. I have an idea for tires and will be doing a video shortly.
Mossman, If you wish check out my video " Polaris UTV Electric Dump Bed DIY" I've been using it to haul all Firewood for almost 2 years. It has all the lift Dimensions and wiring. Incidentally it's only rated at 200 Lbs. and has never given me a problem.
+SmokymntnEd I saw your video when looking for the stroke I needed. I don't like the idea of only having a 200lbs lift capacity. I wanted more. I paid more but I think it will be worth the extra money.
Let me know when you find a "correct" part for a 2003 Ranger with a new 2010 bed custom made to fit. When you start mixing years and doing custom work parts do not just bolt on.

i can see that machine becoming a great asset there on your property, very versatile multipurpose use.

+SmokymntnEd I was shocked at how quiet it is. Almost can't hear it. I have put some pretty heavy loads of wet sand in the bed and no problems.
Good job on the lift!
+farmboy30117 So far so good.
Great video thanks and that dog is a digging machine have a great day be safe.
He is pretty serious about his digging. 😀
your pilaris videos ARE awesome
+msgt1942 Glad you are enjoying them.
Nice project! That dog sure can move some sand. You need to find a way to put all that energy to work. LOL!
+Rick Anderson I wish he could give some of that energy to me :)
Wow I need to do that to my 2002 Polaris Ranger 500
So, this isn't something you can do without a machine shop...
Is there a kit available for this instead of needing to have a fab shop?
Not for the 6x6. I had to modify a 4x4 bed lift. There might have been one back when these were new but I doubt you will find one.
hey man do u think your rear tires will wear faster, kinda like a tandom trailer the rear tires kinda skid around sharp turns?

Nice looking Ranger, are you going to put some new tires on it?
+Parker Jessen I am working on a set of new tires.
Have you thought of making the dump switch a toggle switch so you don't have to hold it?
+Zane Clossey Not really. It doesn't bother me to hold the button down.
i like how rusty tried to help, however i don't think he understood exactly where to put the dirt! lol
+davidgriffin14 Too bad he doesn't have thumbs. I could start teaching him how to work on stuff :)
+mossman381 Would you get him to finish the terry ?
Randy Bobandy He could help :)
+mossman381 I need a dog that could frame for me lmao. Ran myself over yesterday with the 9150 I'm in a wheelchair for 6-8 weeks
Randy Bobandy Sounds like you are lucky to be alive.
very practical
+Veikra I have been using it to fill in holes the dog dug......imagine that :) It's working great.
bet it's a full time job just doing that
Veikra The ranger will make short work of it now :)
did ya find this on surplus center?
+MrGiovannix12 I found it on ebay but Northtool was selling it.
+mossman381 gotcha it worked good ... Rusty was suppose to dig the other way so the sand could get into the bed lol
***** I looked on the surplus center and according to their measurements the ram was too long. Rusty is a crazy dog :)
+mossman381 he sure is .. and thats a shame surplus has great prices
***** I think they wanted like $250 for the 1000lbs one I needed.
Do you ever plan on buying a lathe ?
+Randy Bobandy We have a big lathe. I just haven't used it. Dad needs to show me how to use it but he really doesn't use it much.
+mossman381 I have a 2 ton lathe in my fabrication shop, cost me the carburater off of my grain loader
Randy Bobandy I think you made out. I will see if I can get a video of it sometime.
+mossman381 Sweet. and yeah because I haven't had to use the grain loader up until this year but I had a carb sitting on the bench that fit
+mossman381 Oh and guess who bought a new truck today. Yup, Allan did
Need to put some new tires and maybe bigger ones
+wutff Working on that.
What ram is that??

Easier to install correct part. Bolts in in minutes. 10 seconds to dump.

That's weird how the one back left tire is bald
+Black duramax dually The rear tires get most of the weight. I am guessing someone was running the side of the road a lot.
