    Thank you, Ian, for providing this information. I just ordered oil, flter, airfilter, chain and cable lube. 6200 miles and absolutely flawless riding.
    4th servicing by myself( 300,1000,3000,6000). I am amazed that your tires still have the nubbies on the sides.
    What do you know about cleaning or lubricating the Throttle body. I believe this would be the carburetor ( without EFI)
    Your information is priceless, and the motorcycle shops will frown upon you. 💪🙏🫵

    Thanks for the video. The Speedo sensor on the right side of the wheel is redundant and can be removed. It’s no longer used for the speed as that comes from the abs sensor.

    Hi there OSADVR, another excellent 'how to' video showing how to keep a Himmie in tip-top condition.
    I'm always very impressed with your calm and well-prepared style of showing us how to do stuff. Much appreciated, Dave.
    PS How did you know - before taking the wheel off - that the bearings needed attention?

    • @iantoy7778
      @iantoy7778 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi Dave, my mates always ask me why my bikes are so clean. I am always cleaning them lol.
      Firstly I always like my bikes immaculate and secondly when you clean them as often as I do it gives you a chance to check the bike over as you clean it. I have it on the centre stand, chock the bike up on an axle stand so the front wheel is off the floor to clean it. I was spinning the front wheel as I was cleaning it and could hear the bearing. So, I decided to take the wheel out and have a look as I do.
      Cheers Ian

    Great video thanks, keep them coming! When replacing the bearings is the bearing spacer longer than the bearing seats.. I mean do you seat BOTH bearings onto the hub seats or just one.. one being slightly floating? Thanks

    • @iantoy7778
      @iantoy7778 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tap one bearing in down to the stop on the hub, drop the spacer in, tap the other bearing in until it is just snug. Put dust seal in. Fit the wheel. When you put the nut on the axle you must only torque it up to 70 Nm. By doing this it will seat the bearing where it needs to be. By using the correct torque setting it doesn't try to crush the spacer between the bearings. If you over tighten it will crush the spaced and shorten the life of the bearings. It's the torque setting that actually seats the bearings not your hammer.

  • @crosschapel
    @crosschapel 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great video. Am I right in assuming no grease to be added to axle before reinserting into wheel, and no grease on inside of hub before reinserting bearings and spacers?

    • @iantoy7778
      @iantoy7778 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bearings need to be knocked in dry so there is no possibility of the bearing spinning in the hub. If you look on my Honda NC750X rear wheel bearing video they are actually loctited in. The axle doesn't need any grease for the same reason. The bearings spin on the ball races not the bearings spinning on the axle. It needs to be cleaned but not greased

    When I take a wheel off for the first time, I check the static balance of the wheel, and add weights to the outer part of the spokes; if required.
