well, i made this video mainly becuse, the monkie Kid episodes are not available on TH-cam so, i made the video for those who don't have revenge of the spider queen and want to make a Red Son edit or anything so, i hope you enjoy the video!!

It's his weaknesses that balances his strengths, and it's the mark of a very well-made character!
Maybe it’s something that he will eventually overcome. He seems to have a soft spot for the main cast, especially Mei. Maybe his character arc will involve him getting over his need to be better than others as he gets closer to Mei and forms other bonds.

Which could be translated to "Red Son" or "Red Boy". The name specifies that he's more of a kid, but not really in a little annoying child sort of way, so I think Red Son is a pretty solid translation.
Tho I do find it funny that he constantly corrects her but she's not technically wrong.

If this is based on Journey to the West and Red son is the son of the bull king, that means red son possesses the true fire of samahdi that even Son Wukong could not beat without divine intervention.
I think Monkie Kid it's based on Journey to the west but isn't canon to the show so....if it's, let's see what happend if these two confront each other

@@NEOTLEXAMVS I mean, Monkey King is literally Sun Wukong, they name dropped him from time to time. Mei herself is the descendant of the Dragon of the West Sea, whose son in the original myth became the Dragon Horse that Tang Sanzang (Tripitaka the Monk) rode after he just swallowed his original horse. Yes, they tweaked the story as some sort of the future after the the original myth ended, but a lot of the elements are still here. So who knows, Red Son might get it in S3 and the DBK family might be working together.

God, everything about him; his design, his voice, his mannerisms, his facial exsprections, his body language, he is pure perfection.
Doesn't Red's voice actor do Anime as well? At least that's what I read on Wikapedia.
I know. I honestly don't know why it's so endearing that his hair bursts into flames when he gets angry, startled, or defensive.
What is this and why haven't I heard of it before? The production value is INSANE for a kid's show. Like damn, i'm actually impressed. Every single frame is wallpaper material.

It's funny seeing that, in this interpretation, Red Boy struggles with getting his dad's affection. Whereas, in the original (at least, in the summary I've seen), Red Boy was able to deduce that Sun Wukong was impersonating his dad because he couldn't tell him the exact hour he was born.

Eh, I had faith in them. But as soon as I saw the first trailer, I knew this was gonna be something else and nothing like Ninjago. Which has had it's fair share of deep and gripping moments. But this . . . oh man alive . . . this is truly something else that we will probably never see again.

Can I just say I love Redson.
I haven't even seen the series (despite how much I want to) and he has already won me over.
He's like a tsundere.
He already knows what he wants and he doesn't want anything else. So he sees everything unrelated as a distraction or a nuisance.
Another way to think of it is, why make new friends when you already have people you want to be with?
I feel like, as someone who hasn't seen the series, when Redson stops thinking about his parents approval for a moment and actually enjoys and cares about his company with the main cast. He'll start to experience more of what the world has to offer and grow to be proud of himself, to approve of himself, instead of looking for other people's validation.
He's the kind of character I would get behind in seeing grow.

I've watched the whole series and oh my f*cking god do I love it.
I was fortunate enough to watch the season 3 specials live when it premiered. Which had me screaming so much.
I love my child Red Son. I even got his keyring I found on the lego store and attached it to a chain necklace.
MK is practically my carbon copy just with his brain turned off most of the time.
I relate to Macaque a lot and I get why people love him. I do too but not as much as I do Red Son. Doesn't make me any less proud of him though during the season 3 finale.
And Red Son has grown so freaking much.
He thought that by only doing 'bad' or 'evil' things successfully would he gain his parents'. Approval.
But it's clear that after revenge of the Spider Queen where the first time in 500+ years did his father called him son because he saved him, even though he helped the heroes to do so. DBK and Red Son even worked together to help fight Spider Queen.
Red Son has learned that no matter what actions he makes or the people he surround himself with, good or bad. His parents won't disown him.
It was especially clear in season 3 when he saved MK, Mei and Sandy from the desert despite having absolutely no reason to. Even letting them into his home, serving them food and a cosy place to sleep and rest.
Better yet his parents while bothered to have their enemies nearby made no move to kick them out. As if respecting Red Son's decision.
Season 1 DBK wouldn't do this at all. But I think after DBK got possessed and the family fled, they had a lot to think about.
For DBK he may have reflected on what he said while possessed and is subconsciously or consciously trying to make up for it.
By the end of Season 3 Red Son has come into his own. He makes the decisions for himself on whether he wants to help andsave someone or not.
His parents are happily sitting out of LBD's world destruction plan and are taking a break for their own world domination.
Red Son is becoming more independent while stay remaining the same.
He's still the guy with a lot of confidence. No patience for other people unless it's to remind other people to be patient. Doesn't like to admit when he's lost or confused. Likes a well planned out plan. A martial artist. A engineer/technician. And one hell of s Tsundere.

HES SO SWEET I LOVE HIM. His tsundere aspects just make him all the better character

He is really coming into his own after DBK called him son after helping the heroes save everyone. Giving him a signal essentially that doing inherently nice things won't result in getting disowned.
He didn't have to save MK, Mei and Sandy from the Desert but he did anyway.
I love how the writers were able to have him grow as a character while at the same time not.
They've just essentially gave him the ability to breath and show more aspects to his personality without changing who he is.
Also, I don't personally ship it but Red Son going from calling Mei 'Horse Girl' in season 1 to 'Dragon Girl' in season 3 is so freaking cool.
Revenge of the Spider Queen did wonders for our demon boy
