I’m really hoping that near the end of the show Camilla ends up receiving and watching Luz’ videos and realizes how much Luz loves the people and world in the boiling isles, and decides that Luz shouldn’t have to leave forever

@@nutkja I don't think opening this portal they managed in the episode allowed for the signal to pass, since it was a portal to mirror dimension instead of human world. I think they would pass through if they open any kind of portal directly to the human world

Okay but still it really sucks for camilla luz not only ran away and could have gone home any time (until she blew the door up) she stayed there long after the camp thing ended without checking on her mom , heck she replaced her with Eda who even refers to luz as her kid now and didn’t even seem to care after she learned someone stole her life and was even excited that she could use this as a excuse to stay longer than bring her mom in and make her understand like how was that even gonna work” hi mom so I helped a demon pretend to be me for a few years while I was living with my witch mom and now I have magic but only in another dimension that only can be opened by a key I have so I’m gonna stay here thanks and bu-bye “ I don’t hate luz but she is technically the villain of the story when you actually look at what her actions have caused and we see she could have still had a similar life of fun with friends going around her town discovering secrets and still messing with demons and magic stuff and on top of it all now she’s lying to everyone in a situation where everyone will lose and if I had to guess belos will trick luz into helping him complete the day of unity because it would let her have the both worlds and imagine how it would feel if your daughter started a apocalypse because you asked her to go to summer camp

vee being a basilisk ties into the season 1 episode “the first day”, where an adult basilisk pretends to be an inspector & drains the magic from bump & the students. viney offhandedly mentioned that they shouldn’t (or more so haven’t) exist currently, bc they went extinct a long time ago. just thought it was a nice tie in to mention if you didn’t note it :)

I CALLED that there would be a recurring basilisk character,,, proud of myself for that
I uhhh thought this was blatantly obvious, or atleast in hindsight. Like I don't think anyone thought that they literally introduced a new demon that can both transform their physical form and steal life and magic out of others. I think this was the whole point of 'creepy Luz' being a Basilisk, other than the only other option being a grimwalker which I'm sure they want to save for later, was to explain why a super powerful creature introduced in an early episode just is never seen again.

Both Luz and Amity faced their biggest fears on this season. Luz telling her mother the truth and Amity calling Luz out and admitting that she likes her. I'm very proud of my girls ❤️

a small thing I noticed is how Vee described telling Camilla as "coming out" to her, and all of a sudden it hit me why this was such a big deal, and why Real Luz would surely come clean now.

To be fair to Camila, she sent Luz to camp to help her make friends and to also stop her tendency to bring live snakes and fireworks to school. She even says in the first episode that she loves Luz’s creativity, it’s just gotten out of control and is starting to hurt others (see the fireworks and live snakes).
Of course, that’s not what we the audience or Luz hear. What we hear is “oh look at this, another parent that doesn’t understand, and wants to make her kid ‘normal’.” Which is why we’re so on board with her staying in the Isles.
But camp couldn’t have been all that bad considering those three teens became V’s friends and they still seemed to have plenty of creativity left.
I think it's more because camp actually doesn't work, tbh, like most of these "corrective" structures IRL. These teens just braced themselves through it while making friends to endure. I mean Camila's intentions were pure, don't get me wrong but she most definitely made a mistake. This talk of camp to "think" (or act) "inside the box" really hits close to home for some.

Vee is a precious baby, and I'm so happy she's staying with Camila. Also, this episode showed us that Luz gets her endless compassion and kindness from her mom.
Luz didn’t just go on an excursion in a different dimension, she made and entire life away from her mother. She was enrolled in school by ANOTHER WOMAN, who makes clothes for her, cooks for her, houses her, teaches her, gave her relationship advice. It’s rough
and it benefited her. again, hard for me to talk about for personal reasons, but she seemed to need an outlet, not more structure

I feel like Camilla always liked Luz's creativity. But she also saw how it was hurting her. Getting into trouble multiple times at school. Not having any friends. She didn't want her to get rid of it. Just to have better control over it.
I will continue to advocate for outlet and creativity as how would she behave any differently with more structure at a camp? She would just have the same response somewhere else.
Luz being creative wasn't the reason she had no friends- her "weirdness" gets her friends right away in the Boiling Isles. The reason she didn't have any friends was that there weren't any like-minded people at her school. Repressing her personality and creativity to make friends wouldn't result in healthy friendships... I'd know.
Dude this episode had me freaking out literally the entire time! Getting to see Camila was so nice and seeing her slowly realize that Luz wasn’t lying abt the Boiling Isles was great! Also I loved how you could tell that she was a lil thrown off at how calm and shy “Luz” had gotten, only to discover that she isn’t actually Luz. Also she’s so nice and I love her so much and she’s like definitely in my top 5 characters now. I do wish that Luz had told King and Eda what actually happened tho
Also omg hearing Ve’s voice and realizing that she’s Amethyst’s voice actor made me so happy like dude I had such a big smile on my face

I wanna say that the imagery and physics they pulled off in the “in between” space was amazing. So there are 2 realms, Luz started on the bottom, because that liquid surface and the cubes from it were from the demon realm. The roof of the room is the surface corresponding to the human realm same for the cubes on that side.
As Luz goes to the human side, gravity switched and then it looked like the demon realm was above her. When Eda, King, and Hooty pulled the rope, they pulled Luz up from Camilla’s perspective, almost as if she was ascending to heaven.
Now imagine if both surfaces were on the same side. No gravity flip or anything, so it would have maybe been like Lion’s mane in Steven Universe. In that case it would of looked like the rope was dragging Luz down through the liquid surface. Imagine how much harder it would have hit Camilla to see her daughter getting dragged back down to “The Demon Realm”.
I am really in awe at the level of thought the writers, storyboard artists, and animators put into pulling this off.
I thought of a theory earlier today
What if Kings voice powers are like a progenitor power to glyph magic? Spoken language comes before written language, maybe it's like an Elder Scrolls dragons situation, where the native language of Titans is inherently magical. The glyphs could be the written language of Titans which causes them to be magical too.
I don’t know if Luz would have had a good time at camp, but Vee responds to mundane human connections that terrify Luz the way Luz responds to demons magic and adventure.
yeah, still on the fence myself, but the element i enjoy most is the humanity of making us question decisions and outcomes
Omg «why are you going to shorten this story» hit me so hard, it breaks my heart that this show isn’t getting the full space it deserves, but I’m at least glad they will be able to bring the story to a close in some way
Multiple people thinking that luz would have actually had a fine time at camp because her friend seem really nice. But her and Vee have very different personalities. So maybe she would have been able to make friends with those kids but she may have also not been able to because he just kind of suspect that everyone's going to treat her like crap
yeah, life's complicated like that and that's good writing.
I really liked Michaela Dietz as V or Number 5, Michaela also voiced Amethyst in Steven Universe, I think their voice was great for this role💜

She probably did. We only ever saw the start of the conversation. She might not have gone into details but she probably mentioned at the least that there were people who'd taken her in.
If I remember right, Hunter calls Bellows his Uncle, so presumably his brother is the one who mingled with the people of the Boiling Isles and fathered those half-witches. And that brother was probably killed when one or both of them tried to return to the human realm (OR Bellows went power-mad and killed him on accident).
this where my brain branches out too much to have a full thought...Belos could be lying about being his uncle...or he's a clone so 'Dad' didn't feel right...who am i? lol
I feel like that cliffhanger might have been meant to have us be in pretty much the mind of Luz until the next part of the season drops. Luz is left to ponder a lot of stuff, just as we are. Oh, you said it better than I could as soon as I continued watching. the video, hah.

This episode had me realize that owl house and gravity falls are, or it least could be, canonically on the same earth. And that has me asking SOOOO many questions.
"Oh crap my notes..fixes glasses*...holy crap" I imagined you as a lecturer giving students your thoughts on the episode and I'm cackling. You need far more attention than you have already, your style is film making is awesome!
Some of my thoughts I already posted elsewhere :
Camila is a good person and a good mom. However "I'm gonna send you to camp so you become more normal" still hits very close to home for LGBT+ folks, which explains the negative comments you can sometimes read on her. However, I like that it is still presented as a misguided choice from Camila (her being afraid that her daughter changed too much at the beginning of the episode,and the fact that the camp realy didn't work on the tennagers we meet later are nice touches), but still... Compassionate as she is, she still forces her daughter into a promise that she's already regretting. Which makes her an even more interesting character : much like her daughter, she is a deeply benevolent and kind person, but still makes mistakes that hurt people. That is a bit more tricky to do well than a sadistic mustache twirling villain, and I'm glad they pull it off.
V being a basalisk does tie into the episode “The First Day”. I’m pretty sure that the basalisk that was attacking the school was one of the escapees, V did say that “some of them only knew how to feed”. It could be that the basalisk got hinged on absorbing magic. They don’t have to absorb magic, at least it’s not their primary source of nutrition.

I’ve been really enjoying the theories surrounding hunter, but with the knowledge that there was two humans, it actually does open up the possibility that hunter is actually belos/philip’s nephew… there’s also the possibility that hunter is philip’s son and belos is the other brother. ive also been considering the portal magic- i wonder if it’s possible that it could’ve corrupted belos in some way given that the weird black goo that came out of the homemade portal (while it was collapsing) is very similar to the goop that came of of belos’ mask. anyways that’s my thoughts!! wonderful video as always

@@thethirdbill honestly the theory that makes the most sense of all this is Philip is indeed Belos (they look indentical), and hunter is a grimwalker clone (hence the red eyes in the book).
But, hunter isn't a clone of belos, he's a clone of his brother, he looks IDENTICAL to him outside of his witch ears that are probably also a grimwalker thing.
Which means Belos/Philip straight up cloned his own brother .
It explains why Hunter is his nephew, because technically he's the brother's child through cloning, therefore making philip/belos his biological uncle.
Why belos/philip did this? No idea, could be a wierd way to cope with serious brother issues, could be for other reasons.
But this idea ties everything together a lot more.
@@jlwiseman98 Something else to point out: In the picture, Philip's brother is holding what looks like a magic glyph, so it appears that he used wild magic. This could mean it was Philip's brother that turned him into wathever it is that Belos is now, and could explain Hunter's fascination with wild magic.
God I didn't even THINK about how the Emperor and the one making the portals could be two different people! Which could be a possibility because Belos isn't even name dropped when the person making the portal is in the scene, it only shows the mask which cause the audience to imply!
I find it sadly amusing that Vee was imprisoned by a Rodger Craig Smith character twice.
There's also the fact that the palisman of the Philip's brother is identical to Hunter's

@@thethirdbill if I had to guess the reason it looks like a regular bird is because it was crafted by a human and the scar might have been during a accident leading to the brothers death? And if hunter is a clone it could explain why the palismen couldn’t pick a witch as its owner because technically it’s owner was still around and it never truely abandoned him so that’s why it is obsessed with hunter it’s seeing its owner for a second time

This was such a great callback to the Basilisk attacking Hexside disguised as a member of the Emperor's Coven.
I feel like the curses of feathers and mud may have afflicted both of the brothers way back when.
So. If they really are brothers, and one of them is indeed Phillip - both of which we have no reason to doubt - it's weird that Phillip's diary never mentioned a brother. That raises the possibility of Phillip being an unreliable narrator (which makes a lot of sense if he's, you know, Belos).
Think about the narrative ramifications of that.
I’m convinced that Philip is both one of the lost brothers and Belos, and that Hunter is a grimwalker created in the image of the other Wittebane brother, making Belos Hunter’s actual uncle in a way. Hopefully I won’t look like a martian time machine theorist by the end of this, though.

This episode left me with such a strange feeling. Like the whole thing felt unreal and unlike the rest of the show. It’s hard to explain it, but I suppose it was because I’d gotten so used to the Demon Realm. Honestly I think it’s a compliment to the crew that they can make it feel so “fish out of water” despite being in a world that should be familiar. It’s likely how Luz was feeling, and the fact that even the audience can relate to that feeling is really impressive. Anyways, this episode did a lot of things right. Helping to show that Camila is just a mother trying her best, someone who truly loves her kid but made wrong decisions in an attempt to protect her. And I was personally drawn to Vee instantly. I love her character, and feel that basilisks may prove important to the overall story. So many thoughts and theories, not enough processing in my brain ! Take your time on your break ! I love your videos, music and animation alike, because they help me process things and see things a little clearer. They’re really helpful and enjoyable and I’d say a break is deserved ! To quote you, take care of yourself please !

It would explain Luz's extreme actions, for attention, in ep1 if she was a youngest child. It would also explain her mother's willingness to play along with her "crazy games" for so long.
i think it more so explains Camila agreeing to take Luz to a camp without talking it out more with her. (i'm team luz needed an outlet and should have picked a camp she was more interested in) When my mom was a single parent she would get a lot of errr....'advice' from my elementary school that really scared her.
this video just made me realise - luz says "breathe and count to 5" but then thats when vee's little box thing appears allowing her to meet vee and plot shenanigans. i never noticed that until you put it in the captions omg

I was SO happy to see a Camila special feature that both shows off how great of a person she is and how fantastic of a mom - there's a huge problem in the fandom of villanizing Camila, especially before this episode when the little we saw of her was mostly just... 'send daughter to normie camp'. This episode... completely debunked that because Camila not only _loves_ her daughter's quirks to the point of enthusiastically taking part in them, and misses the sudden loss of them since camp - she also holds it together in the most awe-inspiring way in the face of everything, in a way I can only attribute to her momhood (moms have a power, in my experience, they're stronger than any marine.) Think about the DAY she just had, and on top of that, learning that her daughter chose to stay in a _dangerous demon realm_ instead of going to camp - and can you really blame her for begging Luz not to leave her again? Of _course_ the show can't end like that, with Luz just leaving behind everything that makes her happy for the sake of her mom, and I have my own thoughts about Camila possibly moving to the Boiling Isles at the end of the show if nothing else, but my point is you CANNOT blame her for desperately forcing Luz to promise to stay.
TL;DR: respect Camila Noceda or die by my fucking sword.
Well she is an amazing person and a loving mom, but that doesn't prevent her from screwing up. The normie camp was a mistake, and we see how (because, I agree with you, she's a caring mother) she's worried camp might have changed her daughter too much at the beginning of the episode. Later, wee see her retrieving the box that Vee had thrown away. I think, when she follows Luz's clues, she's actually just happy to see some of the quirks of her daughter again, quirks that had disappeared up to this point.
I think it's part of her arc this episode to realize that she shouldn't have done what she did in s1e1 : she hurt Luz, who was visibly sad to have to go to "Inside the box" camp (and I mean, sometimes people have understandably intense reaction to this type of structure, when they appear in a US show followed by a lot of LGBT+ folks), and Luz hurt her back by choosing, initially, to stay away. They still care for each other very much, but that's how close relationships, familial or otherwise, work sometimes.
I'm a bit scared of how this will work out, but I agree with you that it will. I can't imagine the Camila we just saw willingly trying to break away Luz from Gus and Willow, even less so Amity, when she learns about them. Like most problems between people who love each other, it's about having the courage to talk about it, and the way you choose to talk.

nah you're good. i just dont want to repeat myself that would be boring for others lol the Camila discourse is hard for me, and can get challenging because i think people want Good Mom/Bad Mom but the reality is Human Flawed Mom Trying Her Best While Clearly Going Through Her Own Stuff Is Going To Make Mistakes But Also Luz is Valid.
Your reaction to Mama Noceda pulling out the chancla was amazing! Growing up in a Hispanic household I was laughing so hard when that scene happened.
while we are not hispanic, my mom's side of the family had/has similar punishments and it kills me dead whenever I see it!
Oh boy I held a lot of apprehension throughout this episode, and it really hit hard, as all owl house episodes do.
For me, the two things that hurt the most were the touching around Luz’s human realm experience and the last scene.
Vee said she felt some sort of resentment because Luz had it good. And like yeah Luz had it good-mostly with her mom, but of course she had struggles. Vee obviously doesn’t know this but Luz seemed to rely on escapism in fantasy, I bet like with Luz’s peers, Camila may not always have understood every single little thing Luz did and does. She’s human, and she wants the best for her daughter and maybe a ‘normal camp’ for a hyperactive child isn’t the greatest but it was something. It would be troubling to see your daughter friendless…
And I think if Luz did go , I’m sure she would’ve felt some guilt for how loud and out there she was, like… a burden. When Vee went up to the teenagers and we saw Luz grow anxious, that was big ouchie and it hit home. how dare the owl house get so personal! I feel like if I saw anymore of Luz’s social experience in the human realm, I’d lose it because she’s a character I connect to on a personal level because of her creative expressions and interactions.
Now that last scene, AUGH. got me attached to Camila. Like you said it was so very human. Y’know that fear, the intent vs impact, she wanted to help Luz out but it didn’t go that way…And I don’t think Luz necessarily holds a grudge at all (at least from what I can see atm) but Camila’s worry she might’ve pushed her away totally makes sense. Honestly I was uncertain about the scene at first, only because (without getting into it) Parent-child relationships that are generally positive are hard to digest for me. I'm torn on whether Vs friends are supposed to indicate that Luz would've been able to make friends at the camp. Like, there's a difference between being a dork with weird hobbies and a complete social outcast. Luz's refusal to engage in social interactions without finding an escape route may have gotten in the way even there.

Camila used LA CHANCLA on that creep. As a Latino, my instant response was to flinch since la chancla is the most powerful weapon wielded by any mom.
Most people are now in the Philip and Bellows are brothers camp. If that comes to pass I think Hunter will be Philip and Bellows cloned him because of some weird fallout. It was likely some curse that ended up taking Philip's life and Bellows was cursed during this mess. A lot of the crew have said that he was a very complex character so I don't expect something simple with those 2. Philip was likely pulled in first and learned to not try and control Wild Magic and once his brother and him got back together via the door his brother likely wanted to try and control the Wild Magic and ended up cursed and Philip would have lost his life during that. Bellows seems to regret what happened and I feel like it's likely because one warning being ignored is what got all of this going in the first place. This would make Hunter a clone because of this deep need to get his brother back and say sorry. Plus if he is driven by the loss of his brother this doubling down on linking the worlds as a control tool is a man on the bring of madness just making a so called safer world to rule all in the name of his brother to do what Philip could not do and that is 100% control Wild Magic and more or less tame it for good.
Gonna be honest, I had a feeling and I still crushed on the guy. Also the fact that Camilla carries that thing around 🤣
I have SO MANY Belos and Hunter related theories now because of this episode.
By the way, a little culture note, that flip flop Camila pulls out is actually used as common form of punishment among Latina mothers. It's called "La Chancla" and SO MANY mothers used it that a lot of Hispanic children (including fellow Owl House reactor EdaWitz) actually love to joke about the power of the Chancla to this day because it's something so unique to their culture.
I've never experienced it myself (thankfully), because I'm white. BUT, I've taken plenty of Spanish classes and live in Florida, so I've basically heard about it enough times to commit to memory just because I really vibe with how the hispanic people I know joke about it.
I've seen some people say from the previous episode that Hunter may be a clone, and this ep kind of cemented that for me. Hunter looks very similar to the brother with short hair (from the statues). I'm going with the theory that Belos is Phillip, and we see that his 'colleagues' didn't make it out due to fool's blood. Belos said their family was gone due to wild magic. I think when his brother died, he then extracted blood and made a clone of him, aka Hunter. And maybe made some modifications like his ears so that he would fit in (oor Hunter is just a relative somehow). I think this also makes sense why Lil Rascal (the cardinal) chose Hunter to be his owner. From the picture in the news, it looks like the cardinal is on the brother with the short hair. Lil Rascal has not had a owner for a long time (like 1600s long time ???👀) so if he was the palismen of the brother then of course he connects to a person who's similar to him !! Man I love connecting the dots ahaha but now we have to wait to find out if any of this could happen 😪
I hope Camilla sees the videos Luz has been sending her and realizes how important the Boiling Isles and the family she has there are for her and allows her to stay there/ visit whenever she wants if they have the possibility to do so by the end.

-Vee/Five stated they were brought back after dying out a long time ago.
-The two statues in Gravesfield are likely the two brothers in the book. The one holding the book looks a lit like Hunter, particularly the nose, chin/jaw and hair. The one holding the scroll looks more like Philip and could pass for a younger version of Belos.
-One of the brothers in the book has a bird, possibly a cardinal on his shoulder, I suspect the one holding the book.
-My theory is that Philip is Belos. His brother died in a wild magic incident, probably caused by Belos as he was the one hold a staff and glyph in the book. Hunter is his attempt at reviving his brother using the same methods by which the basilisks we revived. The cardinal belonged to the brother and recognizes something in Hunter.
-Hunter doesn't have the memories of being Philips brother or it could be a body of the brother but different soul situation. The day of unity is intended to "fix" that.

Rewatching the Owl House atm because season 3 part 2 came out recently. I'm so homesick. My roommate is homesick too and I can hear her crying too. Ok, to awnser the question at 22:00, there a line in the tunnel of love scene in S2E8 that answers. Luz says "Oh no. I’m gonna be made fun of again." So most defiantly bullied.
And Camila doesnt know Luz bullied. And I can prove it.
Back in S1E8 Luz says her favorite early 2000's movie is Freaky Fraturday, which is clearly a parody on Freaky Friday. And there two reason this is important.
One, it helps establish that Azura is an escape mechanism for Luz. Azura is clearly high fantasy, and Freaky Friday isnt. Which seems off till you compare the plot point of Azura and Luz actions.
We got Azura going on a magic quest, and in S1E2 Luz gets trick into thinking she going on a magic quest. Azura challenges someone to a duel. Luz challenges Amity to a duel in S1E5. Azura befriends rivals, Luz tries (and eventually succeeds) in befriending Amity. Luz even go as far as copying a move from a direct to dvd movie, which Amity is surprise Luz watch, potentially implying it a movie only the most dedicated of fans watch. Luz is emulating Azura down to a t.
And then point number two, the plot of Freaky Friday. It about a single mother and a daughter swamping bodies and not understanding each other till after this happens.
We just establish that Azura is an escape mechanism, and the fact that this is Luz favorite movie is, to me, implying that it is also an escape fantasy. That there something she cant tell her mom, but want so desperately to let her mom know. And at the time we were not sure that Luz was Bullied. Sure, you could most defiantly infer it, but it not stated till a whole season later. But now we know that the whole thing Luz doesnt tell Camila is the fact that she bullied.
But the angst doesnt stop there. Because we go all the way back to S1E1. For the final proof that Camila doesnt know Luz is bullied. Because in the end, Camila thinks it the fantasy that holding Luz back from making friends. Sure Camila support Luz fantasy for the most part, but in the human realm, that all Luz has. And Camila, not knowing that Luz is bullied, thinks that just maybe it Luz fantasy that to blame. And it that bit of doubt that get Camila to cave and send Luz to camp in the end (I honestly think it was the school idea at first).
And the worst part of all this is, that you dont notice any of this if you miss one line of dialog, or connect the dots between Luz and her escape mechanism, or even remember a one of line that you thought was a joke when you first heard it. It subtle, in the background, waiting for the watcher to figure it out, and never in your face. Because for Luz Noceda, being bullied was as sure as the sun rising in the east, or the earth being round.
All I want to say is that very first episode is titled "A Lying Witch and a Warden".
So Luz gets a sister, Questions is who is going to be the big sister in that mess, and I don't mean age, I mean who going to be the responsible, mature and level headed one and the bratty, impulsive and emotional one. Cause when you think about it that's a little bit of both of them one moment then the other the next moment.

I feel like the little nuggets of information on what Luz' town is build as & the history it's been through are going to be very important going forward. Also, idk if it was because of the paper texture /how it was made to look/ but on the page where the conspiracy dude shows Camila the two brothers & the real witch - the witch looks like being dressed in black/dark/ robe with lighter spots /maybe stars? / on it. The Collector maybe?

Someone pointed out that Luz has bunkbeds, which is unusual for only children who may not have a ton of friends (I had a friend who was an only child who had a bunk bed, but I was staying over at her house almost as much as my own). So there might be an older sibling?
I love that Camila has probably never actually wielded "la chancla" before, which is a huge insight into her character: Latinx's joke about "la chancla" in a sort of trauma humor way, getting hit by a parent or grandparent is just assumed to be a shared universal experience, so it's fairly safe to assume that Camila has grown up the same way. She seems like a mom who has went through a lot of effort to break out of what's considered normal "disciplining" for Latinx parents. Not going to lie, a lot other Latina moms, even ones my age (which Camila probably is), would have smacked V and then tried to smack rain-projected Luz because it's still such a norm for us. I love her representation of Latinx moms in general, that we're not all flying off the handle and whipping off the sandal whenever we're annoyed or inconvenienced--but she sure as what was ready to throw down when her kid (V is her adopted daughter, I don't even care) was in danger.
Disney may not have given us a real Latinx Princess but they did give us a hella awesome Latinx witch AND Latinx mother figure.

Hey, so I just watched this new show on Netflix called Centaurworld.
I think you would like it. It’s a weird trip, but it’s an extremely enjoyable musical that secretly darker then it appears. Its not as good as the Owl House but if you have time you show give it a watch!

I think it does, though. The reason Luz couldn't use glyphs in the human realm is because they don't contain magic. They command the magic of their surroundings. The training wands however have been shown to have their own magic. So one could use them even in the non-magical human realm, as long as they knew how to cast spells.

We both know that Luz will most likely break her promise. It was made way to fast and there are many reasons why Luz cant just leave the Isles in the past. Camila needs to come to the Realm too and see for herself the home Luz found away from home. I can very much relate.
Great video as always! Tbh it wasn't until you had put up the frame of the two guys with the witch that I realized the bird on (the guy that looks like) Phillip's shoulder looks exactly like Hunter's palisman, and since it had a previous owner I have a new theory surrounding it. It could be possible that the other person with Phillip was Belos as he says he had been to the human realm before but never clarified if he lived there or visited. Maybe Phillip and Belos got separated, Phillip ended up with the portal, and Belos was caught or running from witches. Then while looking for Belos is when Phillip ended up getting a palisman (the cardinal). Something possibly happened to Phillip (maybe that's where Belos got that mark on his face? maybe Phillip learned magic and did it to him during a fight/argument?) and the portal, as well as his palisman, were lost. Among all of this maybe Phillip had a kid with someone. Belos says that he is Hunter's uncle so it makes way more sense now for Belos not to be Phillip (it didn't make much sense to me timeline-wise for him to be both), and Phillip is Hunter's dad which also makes sense why the cardinal palisman got so attached to Hunter in the first place. They do represent devotion after all.
I haven't watched many reactions to this episode because I have mixed feelings on Camila, too. Thank you for such a nuanced discussion of her. People are really keen on "Luz good Camila bad" or "Camila good Luz bad", and won't take "Camila and Luz flawed, trying their best, and making mistakes" for an answer.
