Tableau take Null Extract or Empty Extract of large data before publishing to server

Taking a extract of Data in tableau before publishing into sever takes lot of time, if the data set is very large. So simple method of taking the empty/null extract is the best practice.
Empty extract takes only couple of minutes to extract and publish the data source into tableau server instead of waiting for long hours.
