At first i just wanted to play with the little speaker and see if i could catch it on fire with a quick burst of a TON of power. It was slightly boring. It smoked way to fast. So found this dusty old sub sitting in the corner, I figured i would have some fun with it before i take my Incriminator Audio 20.1 off the test bench. I REALLY did try to push this thing as hard as i could, fully clipped power and all. It took a lot more than i thought it would! I had to really try to send it! I think this might be some of the most excursion i have seen so far.

As a kid we used to freeze the speakers in a big bowl in the freezer with the leads coming out ,they can handle quite a bit of power that way 😂

I have 4 8’s clamping 1400 watts a sub. I’ve never even smelled a coil. And they are surprisingly loud in a tiny ported box. .6 a sub tuned to 35. All I had room for. The evl are actually a pretty damn good sub.

Did 144 at 13hz with two of those EVL’s in the 15 size on 1200 watts they are really good subs if you need something cheap to beat on.

I ran a zvx 15 d1 at .5 on a deaf bonce aak7500.1 for almost 2 yrs beating the shit out of it before i upgraded to two zv5 15s i still have the skar and its coils still ohm out skar makes a damn good woofer
It's funny how everyone hates on skar when yall just sent 5500 watts, and it was able to handle it for that long even tho that's double its "max" power rating.

We put a dead bonce apocalypse 4k to a skar vd8 a few years ago and it took it all down to 40hz. Then we played it at 20hz and it finally smoked after about 8 seconds

I got 6 15 zvx skars dual 2ohms on 35000 beating all day no smell the really under rated love them it’s more musical.I had 6 zv5 15 sundown got really windy but prefer the skar for music.

I laughed hard at that first speaker. Max power 350 watts, Steve gives it 1,300? The sucker died at 349, lets be honest! It was never going to make max power. 🤣

@@meade916 Yeah, the "internet rich" people like you always say stuff like that, but nevertheless it's still a waste of a perfectly good woofer, even if it was a "cheaper" brand name... I am extremely low income myself, (only job I have or can get due to disabilities only pays just barely above minimum wage), so I can ONLY afford to ever buy things at thrift stores and yard/garage sales if they're not asking too much for something, so if this woofer costs like anything above about $20 brand new, (OR used), then I wouldn't be able to afford it.
That's one reason I still only have the relatively crappy "stock" audio system in my car, with NO subwoofer, because I can't afford to buy and have installed, any kind of "aftermarket" system.
If you were going to trash it anyway, I would've LOVED to find this woofer for free in a "trash" dumpster somewhere, because then I could've taken it and made a box for it myself, and powered it with the used sub amp that I also found in a dumpster during covid...
"One piece at a time" I guess, as Johnny Cash sang, but it just takes time and MUCH patience to find good stuff in dumpsters and thrift stores! That's why I hate to see destroying otherwise useful stuff like this being "glorified" on the internet "just for laughs" or "fun"!
@@meade916 Oh, and when I said "second woofer", I meant the second one in this video, even though I know the first one was just a cheap stock coaxial door speaker, but I personally have NO (sub)woofer in my car, just the 4 stock coaxial door speakers, and they work, but don't really have any bass.
