The concept of tenancy in HUD raises an interesting question: Can a member of HUD buy a property in his own name? In other words, can he own some "personal" property and some "tenancy-in-common" property (as a member of HUD) at the same time?

Yes he can, but the payment must not be made from the income of ancestral property.
