- Welcome back ! In this episode you can see how I diagnosed and eventually repaired an electric opening system HKL for the trunk lid on a BMW f25 X3 , the electric drive cannot be repaired and it was necessary to replace it with a new one after about a week until the new parts arrived together with the owner I decided to replace both drive units, After final assembly it is necessary to initialize the system for proper operation!

Did you have to calibrate them?
No. It was easy. Biggest problem was supporting the tail gate whilst swapping over struts. My wife held it up.@@almariodon7599

Great video, it helped me change my RH Powerise by Stabilus.
My symptom: the tailgate would not latch and there was a crunching noise on the RHS of my 2016 F25, the tailgate was being pushed over to the left (actually being pushed down on the right), but there was no error coming up on the scan by my icarsoft. After changing and dissecting the strut the spring had disintegrated and the cover was beginning to bulge at the hatch end.
I should have changed it a lot sooner and I would have if I knew how easy it was.
I don't think I had to initialise the strut, the open circuit error only appeared when I disconnected the original strut.

Hello . after replacement the system will need to be recalibrated !
@@MOvidiuDoesn't it calibrate itself when you first close it by the hands and then drive it electrically a couple of times?
Yesterday I changed the battery in my 2011 F25 and got some fault codes, for instance with the co-driver door window. After driving it a couple of times from bottom to top I could get rid of the fault code.
But there were, IMO, some strange noises... Maybe some kind of grease is needed (as a first step).
After reading another answer further down, I can see your point in your answer.
And after all these struts are not quite cheap.
I have problems with my BMW X5 e70 when trunk is closed it won’t open inside or outside or with the key fob I hear no noise trying to open but when I release it it closes fine with key fob and inside

Do you know if this would help fix a Hall sensor issues in the rear struts.
Firs check the tailgate control module for water damage. The si module is ok. Replace the damaged actuator!
I changed the module and after a period change the struts too, for new ones, and it is not working again now. I only heat a click sound, but dont move up or down nothing, only click sound near to the car battery do you know what can it be ? Module failure or strunt failure ? something else ? thank you
if you just change them and don't do the initialization with ISTA the car will be able to recognize the new ones and work properly ?!
They will work but it is possible to destroy them, because the initialization will make the computer learn the strokes of the new telescopes and will stop almost the end of the stroke, if not, it can be forced every time it is opened and at some point it will break

Buna seara!Am o problema cu deschiderea haionului electric la bmw f34 .Tin sa mentionez ca am schimbat iala, motoras modulul electric pt portbagaj ,se deschide doar manual portbagajul actionand de un cablu din interior.Inchiderea portbagajului functioneaza ,atat din buton, cat si de pe cheia masini .Credeti ca ar putea fi de la unul dintre telescoapele electrice cu gaz ,multumesc mult.Cu stima Ovidiu
Salut, sfatul meu e sa apelezi la un service specializat BMW din zona ta pentru o diagnosticare completa, asa sa arunci piese doar ca presupui ..e o pierdere de timp si bani !

Unfortunately they are not pre-wired
I have 2 strut. They have 5 wires. Red-Black signal and 2 more. When i connect the 12+ and negative the motor clicks buy does not turn. Do i have to connect any other wire to bench test them ? C an you help on this
