  • Casio Privia PX760 Piano & Buyers Guide From A Teacher’s Point Of View
Casio digital pianos are ideal instruments for learner pianists due to their excellent range of features that are aimed at piano students. The key action and piano sound quality is top quality but the best features for piano lessons include the song recorder, Concert Play function and built-in metronome. The duet facility allows both teacher and student to be at the keyboard together with both players having access to the same range and pitch of notes. In this demonstration video, we explore the features of the Caio PX760 from a music teacher’s perspective, but these features apply to all casio pianos in the present range including the collowing models PX160 AP260 AP460 PX760 PX860

Does anyone know what should be the position of the volume knob to mimic an acoustic? I'm a beginner and i don't want to develop a habit on pounding on keys.

They all vary. Just go with what your ears are comfortable with, because I get earaches from loud acoustic ones.

Can anyone explain how to set the metronome up for specific BPM? I know how to turn the metronome on and to activate the 1-9 settings but I don't have clue what BPM other counting them with in a minute. I need 60, 80, 120 and others. The manual does not go in very deep on the subject. How do I set the metronome for specific beats. And what beats very are the pre-programed 1-9 ? Thank you

Is it a sensible idea to have the instrument situated near a radiator?

Should I buy this piano or the Casio PX 160

The PX760 has been discontinued and replaced by the new PX770. Both of these pianos offer the same things in terms of key action, however, the PX770 being a cabinet piano offers a bigger, better speaker system. Which to go for would depend on if you need the piano to be portable or not. If not, go for the PX770. It offers a richer, deeper sound in the Bass and more sparkle in the treble than the PX160 because of the difference in the speaker system. Please contact our showroom on 01323 636140 if you would like any further information.

I was shocked, I thought Yamaha would be better, but the sound quality beats yamaha at the same price range.

No, even the cheapest Yamaha sounds better than the most expensive Casio

@@davidsosa538 I strongly disagree. There is a difference between better and nicer or more beautiful. Because how much you like the sound is seperate from how good it is. Someone might really like the sound of a $50 digital piano even if the sound not even close to an acoustic piano. And i think that preference is what you mean. Because when it comes to replicating acoustic piano sound Casio is ahead of both roland and yamaha imo. Because those two both eq their sound to give it their signature feel. Casio is flat all around, as it should be. Ofcourse, no two people hear the same thing, and it depends on your individual understanding of what a good piano sounds like. So it's a tough subject for sure. But i see it this way, if you try to make an accurate representation of something, don't change parts of it. Even if more people will like it that way, it will still be a worse representation because of it.
