    After cleaning out the wound, I like to irrigate it with a weak vinegar solution to flush away spores, and prevent bacterial growth.
    It may be a waste of time. But I haven't experienced any negative effects yet.

    Good video. Thanks for sharing. I think before applying the tree wound sealer, it would be good to spray a fungicide like neem oil just to make sure that you got all the fungus neutralized. Then pat dry and apply sealer.

    We've used hand held propane torches to sterilize the area, first scraping bark remains covering the wound as in video, not scraping the live bark though. The use the torch flame just enough to alter the disease residue but not enough to cook the live bark. The results seem fine.

    I have not tried it but two ideas occur to me.
    One is a rotary rasp on a battery powered drill. (Wolfcraft make one.) This seems to be similar to a dentist's drill and should be quite effective in removing the damaged wood.
    My other idea would be to use a gas blowtorch. It might sound drastic, but you only have to scortch and scrape out the canker.
    I would expect the heat of the blowtorch to kill off any spores in the wound and surrounding area thus doing a better job than the knife and sterilizing and sealing the wound at the same time.

    My grandmother, in wet and clayey cheshire's apple trees were planted on a raised bank, maybe banks are useful for those growing trees in a wet place. Also, if it is wet, wouldn't deeper rooted plants than grass help with drainage, some clovers are deep rooted. Some say that grass isn't good for fruit trees but grass has glomalus microrrhyzal fungi on its roots, the sheath of whose hypha, glomalin, when the hypha dies, sticks earth together in crumbs bettering its texture. agri rose macaskie.

    We have a magnolia tree, not very big, it has a canker about 1 yard, like 2 inches from the bottom and upward. Previous summer I applied ammonia from a spray bottle. Seems like it helped a bit, but this year there are some more rotten areas inside. I plan to continue with ammonia and try that idea, someone shared in comments about a torch, but I want to ask if that tree can be cured (if the canker is so big, only ~2.5 inches left to the other side of the trunk). Diameter of the trunk is ~7 inches. We recently bought the house with the tree. Thank you for the useful and informative film.

    Most certainly need to use a sterile paint brush from clean and sterile sealer if you are going to use a sealer at all going from One Tree to the other dabbing the wounds from the same sealer is total failure that's like using the same bandage from one gangrene to the next you have to think of it like a infection surgery on humans you will never get rid of it unless you take better precautions 4 sterilization

    I just discovered a big bunch of orange sap coming out of the main trunk on my peach tree so I'm probably going to have to do something with that too I was kind of wondering if a butane torch would work to eliminate the fungus on the wound instead of using a chisel which seems very drastic

    • @metal422life
      @metal422life 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From what I have learned about this subject is that you want to cut it out then you want to spray it with a nine-to-one mixture of bleach to water and do not use Pruning sealer it invites disease. You prevent the tree from its natural healing processes and then through time that pruning seal breaks on that and now it has an open wound that it cannot for the life of it protect itself against because it did not go through its natural healing process. Mini pruning sealers also invite disease because of the pheromones that they release and it also traps in moisture plus the dark color causes whatever spot to become hotter which also invites more disease. So cut it out then give it a couple spritzes with bleach water and done

    • @paulx2777
      @paulx2777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@metal422life I too was wondering why people don't just use bleach. Maybe even 2 or 3 applications through the year, to knock out any newer fungus, BTW if that grass is cut short it may reduce the humidity in that orchard, possibly?

      Chemtrails are just water vapour. Jet engines release very hot humid air as water is a bi-product of the exhaust. In the high atmosphere where jets fly, it is -40 degrees, and the atmosphere at that height had a very low vapour pressure. When a jet engine emits this hot humid air into the cold atmosphere,the result is condensation. Try breathing onto a really cold window and it is the exact same effect. When the atmosphere is more humid,the chemtrails last longer.

      Of course CO2 and soot and nitrogen oxides are in chemtrails too, but that is what you get from any vehicle which requires fossil fuel. It isn't this government geoengineering thing. If so then the world is also flat :)
