My Dad built a small Fleischmann layout in the early 1960's. I still keep his rolling stock and it still works, it was an amazing quality of these models in those days.
You have a very nice layout! I have almost all of these Fleischmann beauties in my collection as well, except the #1330, #1315 and the #1343/1344. I srarted with the #1304 and 3 freight cars as a Christmas gift 1962 frrm my parents. That was immediately followed the following year by the #1337 with her Express train "Gambrinus". I aslo have the Liliput steam engine which is a class 62 and not 65. Your #1361 has to be from 1962 or newer because of the triple headlights and the plastic pilot with steps and coupling hook. Thank you for this wonderful video - I wish you many more years of enjoyment with these trains - Don Casper form Mannheim, Germany!
Thanks a lot ! Fleischmann was what we used to dream about in those days, but for a youngster with limited pocket money it was out of reach. Of course the Liliput engine is a BR 62 - that was a typing error. Regarding the #1361 it is stamped on the chassis with 10/1, and as far as I know 10 is the employee number who did the final control on the model while 1 should be the year of production. That's why I wrote 1961. Same to you as well - wish you and your trains all the best :-) Greetings from Norway, Stig
Hi Stig , Love the video and the vintage collection .. I am a fan of Fleischmann as well . the 1309 ( MV9) really brought back memories .. Keep the videos coming ... love to see more .. I also have a few videos on Fleischmann , specially servicing the loco's etc .. Check them out when you get a chance . I have sub'd to your channel .. Regards, - Anthony - Anthony's Hobby Corner.
Anthony, thanks a lot for your interest. I did watch your videos on the Fleischmann F7 and MV9. It inspired me to try to do something similar. Dismantled the motor on a Fleischmann Alco and cleaned it, was incredible dirty but now it runs fine. Will eventually do a video on the Fleischmann USA models.
@@stigbaumeyer2459 Awesome .. would love to see to see you Fleischmann US collection .. I only have 2 , One is the 1343 ( SantaFe ) (F3 I think ) and the 1340 Baldwin both are from the late 60's or early 70's I think .. Although I run DCC etc , I spend more time running these vintage Fleischmann's on my layout .. There is something about them that is so appealing ...
Yes, it was a time when you could hold a model in your hand without being afraid to break some parts. Often thinking about building a nostalgic layout with vintage models. I featured all the Fleischmann Baldwins in a separate video, by the way.
I like style of video with no voice over or music, just the authentic sounds of the models.
Thanks for your comment. It’s definately what I prefer myself :-)
I have that orange locomotive too!

I cherish my Flm steamloco with registration number 65018, my diesel chunter tiny O&K, and the T3 tiny steamloc.
