Terrific overview. The manual (hard and digital) is so inadequate providing menu locations and picks. This video gave outstanding and easy to follow operation and menu information. Great job and thank you.
Returned mine, sadly the option to use the TEMP High is not available in the UK, Geofencing apparently, pointless release from DJI if it cannot be used as an Action Camera!
Thanks for mentioning this Yorkie. I am from the UK as well and what you posted is what has stopped me from getting one. Shame as I was looking forward to the release so disappointing.
@@Chuck8541 Not too sure it is just the UK, I do believe it is the whole of the EU too, there was another YT video advising people in Europe not to buy the Action 2, wish I'd seen it before I bought mine
What’s temp high?
@@openroadtravels181 On non UK/EU models there is an option to ignore the high temp turning the camera off, if is greyed out on the UK/EU models so they will turn off as soon as they get hot
Also, this camera does not work with the Samsung Galaxy 21
Dang, I wish I saw this video when I got mine. I spent a lot of time trying to figure how to get the firmware. DJI's instruction video was not working. Your video was so much better and easier than the steps I took to figure it all out. great videos, very helpful for new owners like me, thank you!

Great Video thanks, one thing i ran into was pairing. I had to uninstall my current mimo and reinstall it. Smooth sailing after that..
I'm surprised there is no rubber grommet to cover up the SD card slot and USB port. I understand that DJI want us to only use the camera module for "action" footage but dust can still accumulate over time in the battery module. Not too smart if you ask me.

Is there any sort of security on that 'Network the device is pushing out"? 3:51 Can anyone just connect to the camera if they have the app installed? Missing some crucial information on connectivity in this video.

Seems od, you don't tell, if it is possible to connect the camera and the battery module and charge them both at the same time? or not?
It is possible. I just always just connect the two modules and plug the bottom one in and they both charge. The battery/second screen module will charge first and then the main unit/camera will charge.
I don't know where he got the idea of charging the base, and then discharging it into the camera. Just charge both together, and you end up with a fully charged system.

Hey Aldryn thanks for another informative video. I have the dual screen combo. Is there no way to turn the front screen off when not needed or are both screens always on when the module is attached? I would like to save battery by only using one seen at a time. So far it seems like battery life sucks.
What charger you use for the action 2? Is it safe to charge action 2 with mavic mini charger?
When you are recording on the camera itself and you want to make more room on the camera once you click in power bank or the additional screen, can you transfer those files over to that SD card to make more room on the camera itself or does it need to be connected at all times?
The clocks just went forward an hour & I can’t see how to alter the time, just checked the manual online & don’t see any mention of altering the time. 🤔

Mine overheat likes crazy few seconds into use, the cable it came with doesn't charge it sometimes, amazing trouble connecting to app. Omg

I just can't surpass the fact that this new Action camera is not a Action camera per say. Modular is not the answer… we all know that. I feel like our creators are doing everything they can to make this DJI more likeble but for me is not working.
It’s an action camera same as insta360 go 2 is also an action camera. Buy whatever you consider as an action camera.
@@truthseeker6804 i know it’s called an action camera. It doesn’t feel like one. I’m not the only one who thinks like this. Considering I have most of the products of DJI I can assure you this modular camera is not going to be a successful “Action Camera”

Might be just me but when I rotate the action 2 with the screen attached and orientation unlocked it still doesn't switch the format of the screen when you lay the camera horizontally rather than vertically. Have you found this or is it just my unit.

i just bought my dji action 2 and i notice it is getting hotter when i connect the battery pack, it is normal for new dji?
Does swiping the screen work if its wet? Surfing, kayak, yada, yada.
What is that auto function of the hyperlapse. Is it similar to the go pro where the hyperlapse slows down at certain point of the video?

I can't find the app
I have a wearable camera now and I use it for photos mainly. It has the ability to constantly take photos 2sec, 5sec, 10sec apart and will continue until I stop it. Does this camera have the ability to do that?
Dude have you reach out to DJI if they are already working on the firmware fix for the overheating issue of Action?

great video man very well done i have 1 question when i have mine in the sim rig cage and have mounted sideways the video footage isn't wide it comes out 4:3 even though its set to 16:9 it just doesn't fill the screen on playback i thought it would record same sideways as it does upright do you have any idea's

Great video! Just received my action 2 today and can’t wait to use it.
Love your videos. Keep them coming. Question. I purchased the action 2. After using the action 1 and using the rode wireless go, they went perfect together. Now with the 2 the rode go doesn’t work. Do you know if they will make an adapter for the rode or do they have to invest in the wireless go 2? Or even the DJi wireless mic. Love to hear your thoughts.

I saw a video showing that the screen module will accept an external mic. Will the battery module also accept an external mic? The mics I saw used were Rode wireless mics. Will a corded lav mic work? I'm interested in the 2.7K 4.3 aspect ratio video quality and if it will not overheat in this mode?

If you are from Europe, u can't do that because that's a rule in EU.

Saben que me compre la dji action 2...Pero no se si estoy haciendo algo mal...El equipo se quedo pegado mostrando el codigo QR y no logro sacarlo de esa pantalla ...he reiniciado la camara , desinstale la app y volvi instalara la aplicacion y no hay caso....sige mostrando el QR sin dejarme operar el menu del equipo....Si alguien paso por esto , favor dejar datos...muy agredecido ! I'm already disappointed with it because they provided no option to use a external mic and a external mic with a external power bank.
Both those are important for activities like fishing....
Also while they have a remote control now I bet it can't control two cameras in sync again important for activities like kayak fishing..
Somehow I knew they would screw this up LOL
I really need the external mic capability for motorcycling blogging. What a let down.
@@johntalbert8227 I saw somewhere that it can take a USB input from a Rode Wireless Go. Have not seen this verified.
@@mch2359 Yes you can use a usb c mic according to DJI i havent confirmed with my rode mic yet but will for sure
Is this going to be like Apple, where the updates slow your device down. If so how long will it last before the slow down starts and will this be a device that will not work without constantly updating or can you just use it like a stand alone device 🤔
Edited: and just incase you think I'm being odd with my questions. After seeing a country being banned to do business etc... keep in mind where most things are made. Anyway make Stand Alone Tech great again 🙄
session 5 is still far better that has better battery life and SD card built in. I purchased this hoping to replace session 5 for my surfing POV but fully disappointed with such a low battery life and really easy to mis-use. Action 2 is somehow suddenly becomes photo mode from video mode when you frequently start and stop recording. The lock screen to avoid unintended control is not well thought out that it easly unlock and puts you in stupid complicated mode selection. This is the camera designed by Chinese nerd who never engage in action sports. The name "action 2" is simply misleading where the camera is totally not suitable for action sports recording.

How time does it need to full charge the extended battery?
I am connected to the Action 2 via their wifi SSID. I was expecting the system to then prompt me to change over to my home wifi....but it never does. How can I be online and check for firmware updates, if it only allows me to connect to the camera via the camera's wifi? Please help. :)
The video showed a firmware update. In the release notes it states: Optimized power consumption to reduce overheating. Does this take care of the overheating issue that every TH-camr has mentioned ad nauseam?

Great video, a question: this camera, with the sd card loaded will record in both memories (internal and sd) when one get fully ocupied? or just internal or sd, it would be great if there were a chance to record in both storages without stop to change the choice. Thanks
Card in only in second module. Main mod only has internal memory.

Hey your informations are amazing very helpful. Appreciate if you guide me how to download the 4hrs recording on to my cloud or computer. When I connect the camera to the computer it splits the video recordings. I have this issue with both osmo and action 2. Where as I could upload the entire recording from my GoPro as soon as I connect the camera to power. Appreciate your reply. Thank you
They dropped the ball a little on this for my use case.
I'd want to just use the main module attached to my helmet and plugged into an external battery. What they should have done is allow you to plug a usb into the mount and have the ability to add the SD card to the main module. This would mean I could have a smaller more lightweight camera for my helmet rather than having to use both modules.
One question tho! If you are using the camera without the additional screen or battery and you run out of storage, can you then attach the screen or battery and dump the files onto the sd card on the attachment? Or if you fill the camera up you are pretty much screwed and need to use it with the attachment? I mean 22gb for the 4K 120 fps they gloat so much is just kinda stupid in my opinion, if you can move the files onto the additional sd card on the go then it is not that bad, I mean I just want to use the camera without the attachments but not run out of storage after a couple of minutes of recording.
How long does it take to charge the bottom unit? What do the blinking green lights change to once it's fully charged? Why does it get so hot while charging? Thanks!
Both module has a microSD card slot. Can you place a microSD card in each module and work in tandem? Great review.
