    That vertical soft edge is too close to the repair.

      It's at the edge of the panel where it meets the hood. Sure, you'd want to blend color onto the hood, but ending primer there is fine.

      I thought the same thing. Unless they’re not blending that door

      Whoops, just noticed you said vertical...I was looking at the top.

      @@dat_son i think they said in the video they were blending within the panel, which is also too close to the door for a proper blend.

    I could have saved you time and money in this video.. instead of using the wide tape and foam tape you could roll the wide tape back to make a soft edge or just use the foam tape and plastic around that

      They are simply marketing their foam tape. It's not needed in this use case.

    Bodywork over bare metal?

    • @samg5543
      @samg5543 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the proper way to apply body filler. Glazes can usually go over sanded OEM paint.

      @@samg5543 It's a way to do it but not the proper way.

      @@mr.diyhowtopaintingwelding4479 3M recommends body filler over bare metal. Glazes can be either way. You can do body work over epoxy, but no collison shop is taking the time to do that.
