Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage - Jagi Final Dream | Vengeance at Last

This is probably my favorite stage in the game. Jagi and Amiba finally get to have their revenge and move to attack Kenshiro and Toki, who are oddly trying to demand food and water from a village.
The villagers recognize Jagi and Amiba as the ‘real’ Kenshiro and Toki that saved them before, so they all side with us. Along with that includes Jagi’s own ‘forces’ of the Giant Hags and Fang Clan troops that just decided to start following him around.
There’s some fun dialogue here, from Amiba getting a bit too enthusiastic about potential test subjects, misinterpreting Jagi’s feelings towards him, and the somewhat ‘off’ lines from Kenshiro and Toki that just don’t quite sound like them. There’s even a segment where Jagi gets to ride a bike to rush after Amiba to save him, which is pretty fun and rare in Dream Mode.
As you will likely figure out before the end of this, the Kenshiro and Toki that Jagi and Amiba defeat are actually fakes pretending to be them. That’s why ‘Kenshiro’ gets his own lines wrong. Of course, they are totally oblivious to this and just celebrate finally taking down their rivals.
The ending cutscene has Jagi and Amiba just being best bros and laughing. It’s actually kind of nice. This is the one time I really wish the game didn’t remind you that this is all a dream, by returning to reality right before Kenshiro confronts Jagi in the main story. Unlike all the other characters, Jagi actually tries to leave and make the dream a reality, but he takes too long and Kenshiro is already in the building by the time he finishes packing. But even that is kind of funny, so it’s still pretty appropriate.
I’ll say it again, but I really did not expect Jagi to end up being my favorite character in this series. This was the highlight of the game for me.

I want you to think about this. Yuria deliberately set this dream/vision thing up-to keep Jagi in place to make sure he died. The Merciful Mother has her limits.

But she is called the Merciful Mother for a reason. She is trying to give others different fates than the usual intended but it seems to fail. I think she is trying to save them, rather than give them more bad fates.

Dont know if youre seeing this Xaldin, but want to say thanks for posting the English dub. Its hard to find a good, non commentary version of the English dub for this game on YT. So yeah, just saying thanks.

That ending was very funny. Somehow it remind me of the jungle book ending when they walk away.

A weirdly nice and funny story and ending. The jerkass badguys get what they want and sorta stop being murderous bandits, while also finding a friendship with eachother. I love stories like that.
