The world definitely gave him the bad cards in life. He was apparently only five when the incident that wrecked the outback came along, meaning he didn’t get much of a chance to begin with. Seeing some more of the cast actually try to chill with him would be nice.

Honestly, maybe it's just me, but I feel that most of the Overwatch team has a somewhat positive view of him, even if they don't express it. Maybe it's just me though.
I kind of think Junkrat and Roadhog we get cought and as a plead deal be forced to join OW. Or before OW is officially sanctioned back Rat and Hog will be given a choice to help OW or be left to their crimes. And I think that could be fully and interesting.
One of the neat things about the original game was the random chatter among the different heroes. There was only a handful of lines though, with some characters having less than others (especially Junkrat). It's good to see they've greatly expanded on this in Overwatch 2!

Like when roadhog tells her to stay out of trouble and she says "as long as you promise to get into plenty" it seems like she is trying to be supportive of their positive actions because she sees the good in them, which is probably why Junk/Hog see her as an adoptive mother figure.
And here I'm still worried about Junk and Hog actually being included in the story mode because they said during that first dev reveal stuff that not all characters fit into the story they're telling in the story mode. I don't think we're gonna see all four Junker characters in the story. Junker Queen, Roadhog, Junkrat and Wrecking Ball.
I believe he wants to, he does have an interaction with Baptiste about working with a psychiatrist on curing his pyromania and other mental illnesses iirc
