Milwaukee Inspection Camera Repair

In this video I repair a Milwaukee M12 sub compact M-SPECTOR 360° inspection camera. The unit shows 3 LED lights and the screen backlight seems to light. No image is displayed on the screen, and the LED's on the end of the camera don't light up.

I really impressed by the way of your problem solving.
Dividing the whole system into two sections and testing each separately to verify it first.
Rather than start checking each and every component on each sides. Which could be overwhelming.

Thanks 🙂 .I just did similar when repairing a Milwaukee rocket light. I use the same method a lot like if a TV has no power the problem is likely to be on the power supply board and not the controller board so I'd start by checking the power supply input and output, then if I had a missing voltage I'd work back down that line.

This was a very, very informative fix! My husband and I are about to open this Milwaukee M-12 to see if we get lucky enough to have the same issue wrong with ours. We will update on comments!!!

Thanks for the Video! I have one of these where the screen backlight lights up, and the LED's at the camera work, but no picture..
I was able to pull apart the metal tube at the camera end and expose the camera module with it still attached to the cable.

Its probably a break in the wire as it is prone to snapping with it being constantly bent around. You could test the screen part by connecting another camera or something to it like I did on the video.

I have the same scope but the camera on the tip snapped off any idea on what I could replace it with

Thanks 👍it's a pretty standard camera, as you can see there's 4 wires. Gnd, power, video, and one for the LED. I'd suggest having a look on Aliexpress or such you might be able to find an endoscope camera module perhaps?

What if the light only stays on for seconds...what do I do

Could be any number of things, do you get anything on the screen or is it just the led light thats faulty?
