A lot of people seem to confuse a clutch with a clutch control mechanism. A clutch control mechanism is any part of the system that engages and disengages the clutch when push in and release the pedal. When that system fails you can indeed shift without the clutch and still drive the vehicle, if you have the ability to get it moving. The clutch is the mechanical friction link between the engine and transmission. If that link between the engine and transmission fails, you CANNOT drive the vehicle in any way. There are simply no two ways about that and if you think different you’re wrong.

The day we went out we were told the guy was right off the main road and that the snow was packed. The guy was over a mile off the road in on trails that were supposed to be closed and the snow was at least 2ft of un-groomed mashed potato type of snow. We had hell trying to get to the guy in the first place with how much we sank into the snow and when we found him he told us that he wasn't just stuck but that there was absolutely 0 clutch left and we had to tow him up a decent grade. We ended up having to call it quits because our vehicle was struggling in the deep snow and there was no way we could have towed the Jeep out with us.

I got a little spunky last week on a nice sunny but COLD day here in South Eastern Idaho, and went toward the mountains on my new Polaris 570 Trail quad. I went about 2 miles, 1.5 of which was a paved road, and then got hopelessly stuck in 3' of snow. The snow under the crust was that granular stuff like you have explained before. I was able to call my G/F and have have her drive my Jeep close enough to me so that I could use it for a dead-man to hook my winch too. I will just have to wait for spring. What if I had made it so far that the Jeep could not get there? At 75 years of age, you would think that I SHOULD know better!!!!!

Yay, finally a Jeep guy that can drive. Nice job using the ditch to brake. I've used the ditch brake or deep snow brakes for semi's, trucks, and cars. BTW, I'm a Jeep guy.
Love the Jeep. My son sent me the link when it was for sale in Utah he lives near SLC. I'm glad to see it put to good use. I bought a 2006 LJ pretty well built now I'm tweaking to make it my own.
Your Jeep has tracks and clearly Identifies as a snowmobile. I see no issues with the recovery. I bet snowmobilers are mad because they do not have heat and windshield wipers.
The sign says closed to all motorized vehicles, so snowmobile aren't allowed on it either. Even if it said closed to wheeled vehicles, Casey could still go on it.

Good luck with the sales pitch to DVI 🤞 Merry Christmas ☃️☃️🎄

I've had both happen at different times. The first was when the clutch grenaded on a windy, mountain highway (downshifted going up a grade and had nothing but neutral). The second time was when the clutch slave cylinder failed, and had to drive back to the shop 60 miles without the clutch. Fortunately I only had to stop once on that drive, and it would still start up in second.

Thanks for considering the people that pay to build the trail. Great that you did all the communication to the club groomers and authorities and even using a tracked method in getting it out.
When I was cross country skiing, I disliked groomed trails, preferring to break trails through the woods. In that way, I avoided the skating skiiers. But the grooming of that trail to retrieve that Jeep was a really good idea. Great job Casey and Wes.

@@kevinwalters7615 My pickup has two transmissions and a transfer case. One time at the tire shop, the employee went out to get my truck and was just sitting there too long. I went over and he had put the 2nd box in neutral, front box was in reverse. And he couldn’t understand why it wasn’t moving. I told him to put the 2nd box back in 4th like I had it, and drive the front box like normal. Fourth gear goes straight through without any reduction, so it’s like it’s not even there. You’re not going anywhere if anything’s in neutral. They’ve had me drive the truck in myself since then.

Casey, love the videos! I’m retired and living in Florida reliving much of what I enjoyed in my life vicariously through your videos. Over the years I have owned auto repair shops, run tow trucks, operated heavy equipment and had a hobby farm. All my life I have loved snowmobiling. Much of what you show on your channel I have lived in real life. Your generosity in helping others is what I appreciate most! Snowmobilers wont be enraged by a recovery operation messing up the trail. Our group always stopped along our route to offer assistance to anyone who needed it. I think most would do the same. Groomed trails often paid a price…(necessary evil)! If I may make a suggestion…. Perhaps incorporating a set of hand-held two-way radios to communicate between vehicle operators when towing a disabled vehicle out of trouble would help you get the job done even better than you do now. What do you think? Cheers!
I grew up in McCall Id. where almost always the winter conditions are like this. Many times over the years have had Mt. Rescues get sloppy, as many snowmobilers ride up to the mineing towns, drink a bit, and take chances, and get in trouble. I coulld have used that over the years, as I have beat the crap out of my body over the years to get many out of much worse, and it just seems like you have the right tool for the right job. Maybe when I win the lottery I will be back into mountain rescue with something like that. Great Video, and Love that you put your Right TOOL for the task of Service. As for Pissed Off Snowmobilers, lol, they sure seem entitled sometimes, but that is only a few, most are pretty good sports! GOD Bless!
A lesson learned most often by reading the description or digging a bit deeper is we have no idea why anyone does what they do but often assume the worst.
Casey I always enjoy your videos and I hope you were kidding about you being concerned about your recovery abilities in the middle of nowhere every time. In my opinion you are one of the best and I know there is no situation that you can't handle or figure out by thinking outside of the box
You need to throw a light bar with tow truck style flashing lights on the roof. It would help on recoveries and be easily recognizable as an emergency vehicle.
Thanks guys. That was, as all your content was uplifting and positive. And your job doesn't suck at all!!! You get to help, play, and share it all. You guys rock man. And I pray your families have a very merry Christmas.
Great job Casey and Wes. Ya'll make a good team. Those tracks are amazing. Great shoutout to DJI. I have several of their drones. Topnotch company for sure. Great video as usual.
I don't think I have ever heard a tucker snowmobile called an OG SUV on tracks... Trail groomers are not referred to as self-propelled grooming tractors on tracks. Jeeps, pickups, tractors, lawnmowers or quads are snowmobiles if they have tracks. Easy. I don't know why ppl get their undies in a wad over this kind of stuff, especially if they don't even ask why a big snowmobile is on the trail USUALLY reserved for PSC (personal snow craft). The older I get, the less I giveadamn about what others think... especially if they play with balls while wearing underoos or make millions pretending to kill people with mostly-peaceful firearms. Glad you are out there doing this kind of thing, Casey. What an amazing view from your office!!!
Hello Sir, I hope you are well. It is a pleasure seeing someone with your skill level and patience assisting people. With all respect, I have a suggestion for you. Cheap walkie-talkies. I have used them for years as an uncomplicated way to make sure the individuals I have helped could hear my instructions. Take care and have a great holiday.

Most Central Oregon Snowmobilers are pretty easy-going,. Not too many people ride that low of elevation, but all the Snowmobilers I know would offer a helping hand if they came across this scenario, and are most likely the ones who were running the groomer that particular day/day's.

@@CaseyLaDelle Wow, I thought that you had more work for the big roll-back. Maybe 2023 will be better. Thanks for posting these videos. I do enjoy watching them from my nice warm home.
@@CaseyLaDelle Yikes! I didn't know that it had effected you so negatively. I'd have thought that the popularity of your channel would have increased the number of calls. Just from people who need a tow and figure they'd call you to get a tow and meet you at the same time, at least. Or is it that people are worried about being videoed and posted on YT?
I also didn't realize that you had so many viewers in your area, if it's the case that they didn't want to be videoed.
I'm sorry to hear that it's had such an impact on your towing company. I hope things change in the next year and you'll be so flooded with calls that you'll have difficulty finding the time to make YT videos.
Thanks for all of the people whom you help out without charge and for the videos. Stay safe doing your recoveries during this snow season and during the severe cold temps.
Funny living in the rustbelt forever and I am learning more about snow in a couple of your videos than in a lifetime of putzing around.
casey. i enjoy watching your videos along with watching matt's off road recovery and heavydsparks. different personalities and approaching things. all in which i find interesting and enjoyable.
Agreed! Along with Trail Mater, Robbie Layton and Fab Rats. All good people.
Merry Christmas. I love the sound of the tracks. What a adventure. It was a beautiful day.
That was the first thing I thought too when you showed the ditch maneuver. Good on that dude for not freezing and using your keep to stop himself.
Another victorious rescue....GREAT JOB ! ! ! ! !
Casey and Wes you guys did a Awesome job and Wes thank you for being there helping Casey out and taking the video
Casey if you and the family goes on vacation if you end up in western North Carolina let me know because I like too meet y'all okay
Having the right equipment is like a little bit of magic. --- *_Thanks for the great upload._*
I respect how Casey never gets over confident and stays humble
The taste of "humble pie," is awful. Been there, done that!!
Still can't get over how beautiful your workshop is.. 😍
Thanks for your great personality and a positive attitude
Your Jeep has tracks and clearly Identifies as a snowmobile. I see no issues with the recovery. I bet snowmobilers are mad because they do not have heat and windshield wipers.
LOL
The sign says closed to all motorized vehicles, so snowmobile aren't allowed on it either. Even if it said closed to wheeled vehicles, Casey could still go on it.
Another successful rescue by Casey. I really do enjoy those times that Wes is your co-pilot. He does add valuable content to the videos. Thank you for sharing. Peace Out.
I just love your Jeep on tracks, it is super cool!!
Awesome scenery and great cooperation between organizations.
I used to watch those calming videos of like ocean scenes with relaxing sounds, for anxiety, for some reason this is more relaxing 😂 and I’ve switched to these recovery videos. Thank you 🙏
Casey you are such a giving man for doing these rescues for free......from one Oregonian to another keep up doing what you're doing!!!!!
this one looked fun such a nice drive among the snow and trees and nice people!! Happy Holiday season to 'Yous"
Grateful for your help Wes, you too Casey 😅
Thank you for filming Wes!
Reading the comments (and your replies) is always as entertaining as the video...
"why don't you...?"
"did you ever try...?"
"are you sure it's a ...?"
Great video and a truly beautiful location, you can see why people live there (my wife is not fond of the cold) and want to be a part of it.
Good luck with the sales pitch to DVI 🤞
Merry Christmas ☃️☃️🎄
stunning scenery .. and looking at Casey's tracks as they were driving out , you can see how little damage they did to the track
and living in a country where you learn to drive a manual / stick shift age 17 , i always laugh at the people who comment about rev matching etc when they clearly don't have a clue
Another fine rescue . Thank You for such fine edutainment
offroad recvery portal guy...... A++ he showed up to help
So I was on the first day recovery. We volunteer with Offroad Recovery Portal and we only go off the information we were given.
Casey, I am so happy to have found your channel! I really look forward to your videos more than others because of your personality! You have my kind of humor and you have me laughing out loud (sometimes whizzing, lol) by your off the cuff jokes! You are the kind of people we need more of.. it’s not about any amount of money, it’s the respect and humility that you bring.. Changing your ways to doing all the volunteering instead of charging someone (which I can only imagine what another company would charge) for that kind of recovery , you are doing God’s work! Thank you for all you do! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season! Your family and friends are very lucky to have YOU!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! With Love all the way from, New Jersey!! Stay Safe Casey!!🫶🏼👌🏼🥰
Only European people treat eachother this well. It's sad we lost our homelands to the invaders who could care less about us, let alone themselves... 😔 🙁 😞 ☹️
Merry Christmas to you and the family Casey! 🎄🎁⛄.
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
Good job Wes. And of course, you too Mr. I never said I was good at this.
Thank you Wes. Both of you guys did great. The man who you guys rescued today made the right call. Doing what you can for family is truly admirable.
Another day at the office Casey and stunning scenery! You my joke about you rescue ability…..but we ALL know you are spot on! Keep warm. I am in Ventura Ca with family for Christmas then hubby and I are venturing up to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Beetles the Girdwood for New Year. By the looks of the weather app it’s chilly up there. ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
Another enjoyable video. I hope the extreme weather you are forecast to get and we are hearing about here in the UK isn't too bad.
Another great video thumbs up, blue sky, clean recovery
I fid it to be rather amusing that you have to explain how a clutch works, I guess it's just a sign of the times thanks again Casey for another vid that makes me smile 🙂
Best theft deterrent system of the Modern Age manual transmission
@@kevinwalters7615 My pickup has two transmissions and a transfer case. One time at the tire shop, the employee went out to get my truck and was just sitting there too long. I went over and he had put the 2nd box in neutral, front box was in reverse. And he couldn’t understand why it wasn’t moving. I told him to put the 2nd box back in 4th like I had it, and drive the front box like normal. Fourth gear goes straight through without any reduction, so it’s like it’s not even there. You’re not going anywhere if anything’s in neutral. They’ve had me drive the truck in myself since then.
Your track jeep is amazing. What a rig! And, of course, you have to be amazing too, because you have it, and know how to use it. Love your videos, and yes, I would like to know more about your video equipment.😀
Crossing or riding near groomed snowmobile trails with my airboat has gotten me a few looks over the years.
Great recovery. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and the family.
As always 😁 good 👍 job and Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family. Looking forward to many more videos 😄
Casey it is so funny to see dust on the dash board… To you and your family ( inclusive of Grumpy) all have Very Merry Christmas and a Great New Year…🇦🇺🦘🎄
@@SagebrushRambles I know. After travelling the desert and outback roads of Australia you get dust for years. Have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you Wess for filming! Great recovery!
Good job Casey. This way I like your videos. God bless you all the time.
Casey I always enjoy your videos and I hope you were kidding about you being concerned about your recovery abilities in the middle of nowhere every time.
In my opinion you are one of the best and I know there is no situation that you can't handle or figure out by thinking outside of the box
Beautiful scenery !
As long as you don’t leave ruts I don’t see a problem, fighting ruts on a snowmobile is the frustration. Glad they were able to groom the trail.
Great job, Casey.
Great video casey and merry Christmas to you and family from uk 🇬🇧
Well done Casey, and thank you for a nice Friday morning diversion from reality. And hello from New England.
Probably my favorite channel
I bought the set power and an ecoflow so Casey has good selling ability’s lol
Great vid.
Merry Christmas to the LaDelle family and to all of the friends of the channel.
Thx Casey for an informative and entertaining video Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Great adventure
You got to enjoy the sunshine as we did...and I'm betting the temperature was single digits, as it was here..(Spokane).
It's negative digits here in Spokane, now. lol
Thanks Wes, appreciate your help. Nice job Casey👍
Thanks Wes. Ty Casey. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thanks Wes! Another fun rescue.
You need to throw a light bar with tow truck style flashing lights on the roof. It would help on recoveries and be easily recognizable as an emergency vehicle.
Never
@@CaseyLaDelle Lol nice. Keep up the good work anyway.
@@CaseyLaDelle Not even a Cascade Recovery decal or two??
@@61rampy65 it has them.
An LED one !
Thanks for the upload. Great scenery. Merry Christmas to you and your family. And grumpy of course
Another great video! Keep them coming! Most enjoyable! I'm from Guam; tiny island in the Pacific. Just enjoying the recoveries in the snow!
Thanks guys. That was, as all your content was uplifting and positive. And your job doesn't suck at all!!! You get to help, play, and share it all. You guys rock man. And I pray your families have a very merry Christmas.
This is such an underated channel! Casey you are the man!!
Thank you Wes. Great job Casey.
Enjoyed your sense of humour & skill. And your sense of humour about your skill. 😉 Hooked & can’t wait to check out some more.
Haven’t watched your channel in a little while. Just getting caught up on how Jons doing and I really like the new Jeep man
That's a good video you have a great job your office has a great view when working can't wait to see more of them videos thanks 👍
Good job Wes camera work is good.
I have ALWAYS liked the jeep with the tracks but this set is much better with the larger diameter wheels. Awesome.
This is set is exactly the same as the last set.
Great job Casey and Wes. Ya'll make a good team. Those tracks are amazing. Great shoutout to DJI. I have several of their drones. Topnotch company for sure. Great video as usual.
so yeah thanks Wes great filming that worked pretty good for an off limits trail 😁👍
That was awesome Casey! Thanks Wes!
You have tracks snowmobiles have tracks, so your a snowmobile.
Maybe a snowBUSmobile or a snowTRUCKmobile. Not quite a snowTANKmobile. Very cool by any name, and you’ve put it to excellent use.
Just yer typical social credit score post
You are not going to tear up the trails
You're

I just wish it would snow that much in Georgia, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA and happy holidays
The rapport you have with BLM and the forestry people is phenomenal.
Thanks for helping those that get stranded.I have been there and all you do is wonderful. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas Casey & family!
AWESOME JOB! THANK YOU WESS for Filming! THANK YOU to the Grader who did GREAT JOB packing the trail!
THANK YOU CASEY for Helping People and for Sharing the Adventures!
Positive Prayers that all of you and your families have a Wonderful, Safe, Blessed Christmas Holiday and that the New Year is an AMAZING YEAR for you all! 👍
Yay track jeep back, my 6yr old boy loves it!
Yep a regular ole' pillar of the community. Go Casey Go!
I wish I still had my 77 Suburban then I could do what you do now with the snow storm we got here in Columbus, Ohio just before Christmas😉.
Most Central Oregon Snowmobilers are pretty easy-going,. Not too many people ride that low of elevation, but all the Snowmobilers I know would offer a helping hand if they came across this scenario, and are most likely the ones who were running the groomer that particular day/day's.
