You take the "scariness" out of these stitches for me. I also love your soothing voice! Thank you!!

Thank you for this. I was knitting this pattern as a hat and thought it didn’t look right until I found your video and I realised I’d misinterpreted the K1B as knit through back loop rather than k1 below! 😂 That will teach me to read the abbreviation list before starting to knit 😅

Thank you for this very clear video!. I was trying the yarn over method but this way looks so much easier.

Hi! Thanks for such clear tutorials. I study them intently. 😀. This was so helpful I was able to knit the first 21 rows of the inclinations cowl and then realized I dropped a stitch….. thinking I would frog back, I removed my needles but then realized I had no idea of what to pick up and in what order….. so, I am starting over and will be that much better the second time. 😂 The reason for the comment is to ask that you talk about resources for fixing the inevitable mistakes in half fisherman’s rib. Thank you!

Hi Lori! Fixing mistakes in Half-Fishermen's Rib can be a bit tricky, so my top tip is to use lifelines! That way you can pull that needle out and try to fix the mistake, but if it doesn't work out, you can just tear back to your lifeline, reinsert your needle and carry on without having to start over.

Hello my dear, very nice, but very german. I am a German of cause, so I am allowed to write this. I do not like German knitting at all after years in the world and with ravelry.
We in Germany worked the fishermans rib in your demonstrated way years and years. But it is not comfortable to knit in the row below.
It is much easier to to a yarn over on the other side every other row and knit the stitch with the yarn over together on the right site. Or you make a yarn over every second row, if your are knitting in the round. I am often a blind knitter, reading some stuff or looking your tube tube channel 🤗, and it is easier to knit the yarn overs than to knit into the stitch one row below.
It is funny to see this old fashioned style of knitting here in 2021. But I like your tutorials. I wish you a good time and a happy 2022.

That was my thought exactly. Well, I'm a German too of course.

I'm going to be knitting a sweater for the first time and the pattern I got online said to do the fisherman Rib with a yarn over. Now that I read your comment I remembered the girl who wrote the pattern is German too. Now I gotta look for a tutorial explaining this.

lovely tutorial - excited by your new sweater pattern - but also please do one with the reverse side of the fishermans rib as you showed above - it's lovely! Maybe like the weekender knit 'inside out?" thanks for your friendly guidance always.

Thank you so much! I’ve seen so many beautiful Inclination Cowls, but never bought the pattern because I thought it’s brioche and I don’t know how to do that. Half fisherman rib seems doable!

Thank you for sharing this. I was very disappointed in the K1P1 ribbed hem because the fiddly yarn just made a mash mess. I'm making the top a second time and this time used the half fisherman. Soooo much nicer.

Is there more then one way to knit half fisherman’s rib in the round?
A recent pattern I read was:
    Rd 1: k1 p1 k1....
    Rd 2: k1b p1 k1b....
(It was described as half fisherman’s rib)
You recommend all purl for rd 1.
Thank you for your help and all your tutorials!
    ☺️

Is it possible to do a two-color half fisherman’s rib with the look of two-color brioche? Or is half fisherman’s rib a single color only kind of thing?

Thank you so much for such a great tutorial! I'm attempting the Inclinations shawl but made a mistake & can't figure out how to rip back & make corrections. So far I have ripped out all my work 3 times since I can't seem to figure it out!

If I drop a stitch in the purl column, is it a column of garter stitches I’m trying to fix?

Hey Andrea, do you have any tips how to avoid holes while knitting fishermans rib in rounds (there's abig hole after changing from purl rounds to K-1B rounds)? It looks so awful and I don't want to knit the arm the third time :(
