Thanks for sharing this guide with us. I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind: how did you know the right size of the best, if the previous was melted? You just guessed it or there is another way? Morover, was the replacement original? How and where can I find good belts, and how can I recognize a good one and a bad one?

    • @Woodys_Hobbies

There are two methods in finding exact size of the belt. First the he trial and error and second the string technique.

I just found on ebay a sealed Sony walkman, however we know that there are over 20 yrs old
Its there a chance the belt or other parts are damaged during age even if not used since manufacturing ?

Yes but mostly it's only the belt if the item is sealed or brand new old stock.

Sometimes if it is slow their must be a problem with the belt. Here's my guide about belt Thinner belt (Decrease Speed) Thicker Belt (Increase Speed). Or if the belt is too slack it can cause to decrease the speed.

In opening a cassette deck you only need to memorize the part you detach. The best way to do it is to take pictures of each part or connections you detached. About the screws there are many screws you need to check it because some screws are long others are short and screw threads are not the same.

Hello buddy I will give you a tip in turntables. First before you detach all the parts especially the tonearm make sure to take a measurement of the tonearm's "effective length". To get the effective length of the tonearm. Measure from the most center of the "spindle" going to the most center of the neck of the tonearm or the hole were we mount the tonearm. If you know the effective length of your tonearms salvaged from other turntables then you can mount that in any turntables. Effective Length of the tonearm is very important. About other parts it's very simple to assemble I know you know that too. Hope it helps.
