CX500 Swing arm and bearing removal removal

I'm getting my frame ready for powder coating and decided to put a video together on how to remove the swing arm off a CX500. At the same time, removing the bearing races as well.
Note this is a 1980 CX500.

Easily the best swing arm/bearing removal video I’ve watched!
Trying to think of an obligatory negative comment… you shouldn’t work on the ground like that. (Possibly your workbench is as messy as mine)

Do you remember what size collet you used? Very informative. Helps me out on my bike.

I used the 26mm collet nominal size.

Looking into doing these on my CX & wasn’t sure what to expect with forum chatter. This cleared up some questions like quantity requirements, I wasn’t sure if it was like a wheel bearing assembly with 2 per side until now. It’s wild to me that they designed the frame to take all the pressure required to capture the entire swing-arm via a single threaded dowel pin. Thanks for making this tutorial.

Glad it was helpful. I couldn’t find any other videos on it so I figure I document it and share.
Thinking over the design, that pivot point would not see too much load as it would only see fore and aft loads. Which wouldn’t be much compared to vertical load on the swing arm. Majority of the load would be taken up by the suspension.
