In my opinion it is driven too fast. Surface is very soft/weak and not capable of transfer big force from wheel. Solution is wheel with bigger surface contact (or more wheels) or driving it slower. But there is a catch - they use standard sensorless BLDC motors with sensorless ESC and they don't work in slow speeds (under 10% of nominal speed) or perform poorly.
