    Was just there for Labor Day weekend and it’s currently close due to wildlife fires

      Aw that sucks. Did you end up doing a different trail nearby?

      @@HikingWithED the whole Mackenzie River side was close wanted to do Brice Creek but no luck, the only places that were open “that I was able to find” were Crater late, Umpqua Hot Springs and Toketee Falls

    Were there a lot of people? Your video descriptions says it was extremely crowded but your footage makes it look like there wasn't many people. Was anyone swimming? We just moved to the area and I'd love to go here. Looking at your list of videos is exposing me to areas I wasn't aware existed. :)

      There were a lot of people but no one swimming when I was there. Most people were either hanging around at the top overlooking the pool or sitting at the base of the pool. I try not to include people in the videos unless it's unavoidable like Multnomah Falls! You chose a good place to move to! Oregon was ridiculously beautiful! I already miss it!

      @@HikingWithED Nice. I've added it to my list of places to go. Yes, Oregon is absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the entire Country. There are a thousand hidden gems to find and you've done a good job finding many of them! Check out the Saint Perpetua trail on the Oregon coast if you ever get a chance. :)

    Am going bicycle touring next year and will take that road because the McKenzie Pass does not open until the third Monday in June. Roughly, if biking and walking the trail, what percentage of trail would you have to walk/push bike if you did it early on a weekday morning?

    where did you park to get there?

      On Google Map, put in: McKenzie River Trailhead at Tamolich, McKenzie Hwy, Foster, OR 97345. You park on the side of the dirt road at this address. If the side of the dirt road is full, you will either park further back before the bridge or further up next to the highway.

      That sucks. There will always be unprepared hikers or risk takers on every trail. Speaking of that, there were youngsters jumping from the cliff into the pool. 🤦‍♂️

      @@HikingWithED i believe it's because the low temperature of the water sends people into shock.

    How long does this hike take and can you do it early in the morning before sunrise or is it too dark?

    • @HikingWithED
      @HikingWithED  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It will take about 2 hours total. You will need to check when sunrise is at this time of the year and the weather conditions.
