In 1986, a recently married Ecuadorian couple by the names of Eduardo and Dolores Diez set out on the greatest adventure of their lives. With the help of a small office team in Quito and a small crew on the islands, the company that we know today as Quasar Expeditions was born.
Thirty years ago, the Galapagos Islands were not even on the map for most of the world. So, on top of having to run a challenging operation with the most basic facilities that the islands offered, they also had to teach the world about the wonders of the Galapagos. They knew, that tourism was the key to preserving the islands for tomorrow.
Over three decades later, Quasar Expeditions continues to be a family-run company, with the involvement of their three children in the business. This video was created by them, to honor their parents’ fantastic life journey with Quasar.
