So true! I quit a full-time job to do gig work full-time. It lasted for one year. I have been back to a W2 job since last October. And I am happy that I DO NOT have to chase the $$ every day and put that wear & tear on my car. I do other gig work from home part-time. I would not recommend counting on Spark full-time. It has become very sad!

Ive been a contractor for a few companies and have seen this pattern before. Its a boom and bust cycle. Its one of the reasons that you have to diversify. Not just among apps but between jobs in general. They dont want worker to start feeling entitled. They just knock the pieces off the board game and reset the game with new rules in their favor leaving the other players to scramble and work against each other. Its not right but it is what it is. You just have to exploit the opportunity as best as you can knowing that at some point your going to have to change with the times.
I drove spark for a while. It is tough to fight for a job that doesn't pay a lot. The freedom and flexibility is good but overall pay vs gas and vehicle maintenance is kind of a wash.
Whats really messed up is when a company makes you sign a no competition clause so that you can only work for them and then they manipulate your earnings.
You’re on point. I did Spark 12 hours a day for 1 year and I was deactivated today. For no apparent reason. So I’m hoping I’ll be appealed and accepted. I’ve done 1900 deliveries and I’m a 4.7 rated.
2 big deactivation reasons: 1) don't deliver to the wrong address- if a customer turns you in and the photos shows the wrong house youre done. 2) Don't make deliveries if you have your infant/toddler in a car seat- associates are told to turn you in if they dispense to someone with kids in car seats
February 23rd, they claimed I was deactivated for interfering with or manipulating the apps functionality. I appealed and straight asked for proof, which there is none. They claimed that due to driver privacy, which is me, they can't share what they've found.
My sister was approved by Spark so she started delivering and did so for 1 day. Her account was deactivated the next day. She still has no answers as to why. She didn't even have time to do anything wrong and was deactivated.
I got deactivated because a customer I shopped and delivered for claimed I consumed all or part of their items. Thankfully I wear a body cam and i drive with 2 dash cams so I mentioned this in my appeal. They told me 5-10 business days for a response. Hoping that it works in my favor, it took me years to finally be hired. I was only delivering 1 month. I hope that the lying customer gets what they deserve. They are lucky I’m not one to seek revenge.

i got a speeding ticket last August & i wasnt delivering. my first ticket in 25 yrs. i got deactivated & tried to appeal multiple times to plead my case. i had high ratings with over 900 Spark deliveries. they dont give a damn. however, they let false drivers to use bots & other peoples accounts with multiple phones per driver which they still have yet to get under control. bs in spades.
That's why Walmart deals with us as independent contractors. They can get rid of any of us on a whim, and there's little to nothing legally we can do about it. They can always find other drivers. That's the price we pay for the freedom and flexibility of gig work.
Spark did that to me last March trying to say my insurance was falsified. Took me 3 months to get reactivated. It was stupid. I keep a daily log of deliveries and proof even down to text messages to customer before a return.
I was deactivated just the other day, i had to update my car insurance, i was sending them pictures for 4 days and they kept rejecting the images, so i called them and they fix it., then i went to log on and was deactivated. Anyways sick of delivering other people's groceries, with the 2 oranges, and the app sending me to one side of the then to another then back to first side i was just at. Considering it was blessing, my car is thankfully too it gets a break from speed bumps and pot holes and all though miles and oil changes. I did three oil changes in a month.

Apparently they don't deactivate for inactivity. I haven't driven in over a year. I just updated my documentation and was ready to go in 5 min. Should be interesting to see what's changed.

What needs to happen is ALL SPARK drivers need to come together & start a driver's union or some type of representation for drivers ! SPARK is to slow or don't respond quick enough to driver issues. I have been banned from store #1083 in Jacksonville & they called the Sheriff on me & lied 3 different times so now If I come back on property I am trespassing & can be arrested all for doing my job !! This is the ridiculousness of what is going on all while people & illegals are working with multiple ID's using bots to steal orders, threating other drivers that this is their territory, Store mangers are stealing & delivering orders ( against SPARK policies Walmart employees are NOT allowed to work for SPARK) I am pissed !! because I have done nothing wrong or against policies & now I suffer in loss of earnings. The way the metrics are set up, acceptance rate, on time arrival etc… it seems to me they want you committed to a full time driver. In my zone, unless you are in the Walmart parking lot you won’t get an order that’s decent. The only orders they send when one the road r the ones rejected by everyone else. 🤷♂️

People are saying to reapply but how is that possible? You can get a different phone number and use a different email but your background check requires information that you cannot change.

Then tried to say I made a return by just riding by the house. I told them bs you can't make a return unless you want 5 minutes at least. Just want a reason to let ppl go smh.

So I entered Walmart to use the restroom and when I returned my wife who is in the passenger side said the lady came out b4 I made it back. An with that I was deactivated!!! BS

I got denied just signing up. I guess I had one ticket hanging on for one more year. Now that it is all cleared up I have been trying to figure out my login info. and went through I do not know how many emails and phone calls. Finally today the email sent me the email I signed up with, which is old and I do not have access to, and also informed me I would not be able to drive on their platform and wishes me well on my future endeavors??? hehehe what?? So I sent one back to get the phone number updated at least so that I can get the password changed and maybe log in. At that point, I could maybe try an appeal process if there is one there?
The social security number is where it will get you. The system will flag a huge red box with an exclamation mark telling you it can't process your information.

Most of the deactivations are probably valid. Spark does not have contract violations the way doordash does but you best believe they're tracking your mistakes. Just because you do not hear about them does not mean its not happening in the background. Do your best to make as few mistakes as possible and you should be good.
I been deactivated for almost two months i went threw the telephone arbitration interview and after i did that arbitration told me its not there call So i ended up getting a text from walmart saying After carefully reviewing your appeals and the extra information you provided, our decision firmly stands that your account will remain deactivated. I think there was a mass deactivation for this same thing. Send an appeal. I did and got turned back on 3 days later.

The social security number is where it will get you. The system will flag a huge red box with an exclamation mark telling you it can't process your information.
Try an EIN. They don't take out taxes so if you have a bank linked, you should be good@@costaricke

Interesting. I haven't driven for almost a month, and today I got the best incentive ever to do 5 deliveries and Walmart will cover the difference up to $100. Glad I have my retirement. I'm pretty much moving on to other things.

Most of the deactivations are probably valid. Spark does not have contract violations the way doordash does but you best believe they're tracking your mistakes. Just because you do not hear about them does not mean its not happening in the background. Do your best to make as few mistakes as possible and you should be good.
Yes, I think sometimes people go too fast and have forced errors.
I been deactivated for almost two months i went threw the telephone arbitration interview and after i did that arbitration told me its not there call
So i ended up getting a text from walmart saying
