It's a cartoon, not anime. Quit making jokes. People aren't very stupid.

Actually, the cartoon was made in France, and in France, Animation is called Anime, so technically, it is an Anime...

Space Goofs season 2 is by far more superior than season 1. Its a darn shame that season 2 didn't come to the US. Also I wouldn't compare this show to Zim, they have two entirely different premises. I didn't watch the show until last year, and I'm sad that season 2 didn't air in the US.

You deserve a lot more subscribers! Great show about Fox Kids, I haven't seen anyone on youtube talk about its history in such depth. Your reviews bring back a lot of nostalgic memories.

Honestly to me this is the funniest show I've seen in recent memory and I found this show about a week ago I don't consider this to be a gross our show if you watched some season 2 episodes you'll die of laughter I swear

    i remember it very well
but i only watched season 2 (btw, Xilam... easily 1 of the funniest animation studios)
season 1 was hard to watch where i live (the netherlands), but even season 2 was tricky to watch
also, there is 1 major difference between Zim & the Goofs, Zim want to conquer Earth, while the Goofs just want to go home

I saw Space Goofs on that weird 'Cartoon Cabana' block Fox had in the early aughts. I mainly watched CC b/c I heard it had reruns of 'EEK' (which I still regard as THE cartoon highlight of my childhood). I even remember the first Space Goofs episode I saw, "Backyard for Eternity." My dad and I both got a kick out of it (especially the character of Bud), and we were hooked from that point on.
My all-time favorite episode of the series was probably 'Cassius Gorgeous,' where the aliens have to drive off a boxer who talks like Stallone. The sight gags, the one-liners ("I'm gonna pound you so hard that the Queen of China won't recognize you"), the twist ending, pretty much everything in that episode was gold.
Another thing that struck me about Space Goofs was the music. The instrumental score on pretty much every episode was nothing short of incredible.
If I were to pick out a flaw in the show, it would be the second season. Despite the show retaining a high-quality soundtrack and dramatically improving on the animation, I felt the more overtly vulgar humor was a step in the wrong direction.

You were right about Cartoon Cabana. It played in the Summer of 98 and was probably the last hurrah for for the 97-98 season. It had Eek, the Terrible Thunder Lizards, Casper, Space Goofs, and Sam and Max. I'm not 100% sure if Ned's Newt made it on there, but I'm pretty sure Toonsylvania was not.

    • @EricHeidenAuthor
      @EricHeidenAuthor 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I recall seeing a few 'Ned's Newts' on 'CC,' but I never saw Toonsylvania, so I imagine you're correct.
I remember being happy to see 'Eek' one last time but being simultaneously let down that they didn't have any of the half-hour season 1 episodes.
Cartoon Cabana's host segments with the hands were...well, I guess "unique" is a diplomatic way of putting it, so I'll go with that. Thanks for replying to my comment! :)

Perhaps Sony Pictures Animation should distribute Xialm Animation properties. In addition, I would want a reboot of this show, which would feature John DiMaggio as Gorgious,
Bobcat Goldthwait as Bud, Rebecca Shoichet as Candy, Jeff Bennett as Stereo and Maurice LaMarche as Etno. There would also be two new aliens named Beatrice a yellow alien with two tentacles and is a sports fanatic(voiced by Ashley Tisdale) and Selina, a pink gothic alien who is similar to Gwen from Total Drama (voiced by Olivia Olson). What do you think?

i didn't watch this show as a kid but discovering it as an adult, i really enjoy it! like you said, there's some pretty high-profile voice actors in this. in particular, charlie adler's performance as candy always gets me laughing, he portrays candy's manic weirdness really well!
season 1 is...i dunno, it's alright. feels really slow paced which isn't good in a show with this kind of humor, luckily season 2 was a big improvement, even if stereo had to be sacrificed for it lol

I actually found the home to rent version of the intro, but its in french
(Basically it starts off normally but when it should zoom to the aliens about to scream, they fly off and the space goofs logo appears, then it zooms on the aliens and they crash. The intro is mostly normal except there are extra sound effects in it, and the sign at the end doesnt say space goofs but "home to rent") (theres also a very of the oggy intro thats like this except the only thing different about that one is the SFX)
By the way I dont really think this is much of a grossout show

I adore the show, although I don’t really like most of the season 1 episodes (Sweet tooth blues), season 2 episodes make me laugh and put a smile on my face, well, besides Other World Champs, that’s my least favorite episode. It’s also my 2nd least favorite episode from my favorite cartoon, One Coarse Meal from Spongebob Squarepants is my 1st.

I just started watching these videos last week and I appreciate that your video the History of Fox Kids is amazing. I was a Fox kids and loved everything about it. I remember Space Goofs. Catchy ass theme song, tho. But it's something that always been bothering me. What ended Fox kids? The reason I'm asking this because I remember watching the season finale Power Rangers: Time Force and they showed a sneak peek of Power Rangers Wild Force. When the fall season came around, Fox kids was gone. I just want to know what happened and how did Fox kids ended?

They used the word "Retarded" in one episode, and the video game adaptation of it (Stupid Invaders) has quite a few.
