Ayyyy, two new vids to watch! (I was locked tf in for college exams lol). Funnily, I kinda had the inverse experience of Shrine of Amana that you did-- maybe it's cause I'm much slower/defensive, but I never really got uberganked by the Archdragon Priests and Priestesses (but god DS3 thoroughly jumped my ass with the grab-stunlock enemies and a few of its own ganks). The 2nd DLC Key to the Iron King/Brume Tower is actually in the Forest of the Fallen Giants! Assuming you turned off the flamethrowers near the bonfire right before the Old Iron King, the flamethrower that was going off at the very beginning of Iron Keep should now be off and allow you to get a key. This key will then let you open the door near the Last Giant's arena that was locked beforehand-- past some salamanders that can go f themselves, you should be able to eventually find and pick up the DLC key that will let you into Brume Tower at the Iron King's place. Twin Dragon Riders are funny, I love bonking the archer to death in a few swings lol. (I also love their soul-weapons; and the merchant dude in Iron Keep sells their armor in NG+ too) Looking Glass Knight is kind of a proto-Halflight (and frankly infinitely more tolerable in my opinion). His shield can (in theory) summon Player Invaders, and his AI (in theory) should "back off" and be less aggressive when there's a summoned NPC out (yet he can summon multiple sooooo classic DS2 gank if you're slow like me). I kind of like this more than Halflight given only the summoned Players can heal LGK, but god, I think LGK's moveset and overall ability to stand on his own as a memorable boss just tanked through the ground because of this gimmick (because let's be real the Knight bosses are usually more memorable than DS2's monster bosses). I like the fact that the Emerald Herald actually appears throughout your progression through Drangleic unlike DS3's Firekeeper and Melina. Too bad it's like three appearances total and her entire "questline" and other supposed planned concepts were totally gutted like most of DS2 :( The Ruin Sentinels in Drangleic can be farmed for their armor, but honestly, with ALL of them able to walk out and gank you now, it's really not worth it. It's honestly kind of funny that these guys (even their cameos in DS3 which are just aWFUL to deal with, fucking Judicators) have been exclusive gankfests. I'm pretty sure, starting from the bonfire, if you head to the far left room towards the back, you should fall through unstable tiles and be able to find the Faraam Armor (funny DS2's "Elite Knight" cover set) along with some old dude who you'll have to find three times (once in the Shaded Forest, once in the Black Gulch near the locked door above the Giant duo, and once in Drangleic) before he lets you go fight Darklurker. The Ghost Chancellor at the front of Drangleic actually sells Covenant items and spells at NG++. This man is goated and he is the savior of many an offline player who does not feel like dealing with the 300+ total wins BS of some DS2 covenants. The Dragonrider at Shrine of Amana was put there in Scholar to presumably help players actually spot that door later. Take careful note of it. You'll want to head back there near the endgame once you have 4-5 Giant Souls and have beaten the King :D
Hey, so about the Greatsword never hitting, it is a DS2 thing! It's a thing with heavy weapons, that if you move the left analog stick during an attack, your attack angle will change. So, the solution is to either not touch the movement stick while attacking, or to one hand the weapon for wide swings. Alternatively, you can switch to another weapon. There are Ultra Greatswords that have horizontal attacks even two handed, such as the Zweihander or the Smelter Demon's sword.
in the gutter before the green part there is a stone door in the cave . there are many pots in there and after breaking one you can get the greatest armour in the trilogy
DS2 combat and the consistency of your hits landing with great weapons is dependent on how good you can free aim your attacks. This game heavily rewards you for being able to aim without locking on due to the magnetism for your swings basically being nonexistant.
The other dlc key is in that locked door next to the arena for last giant. In order to open it you have to go back to iron keep and in the first room the bull statue breathing fire on an item is off (when you fought old iron king). That item is the door key.
Shrine of Amana is definitely one of the areas of all time. In my first playthrough I kept getting invaded by the same guy over and over again so I had to burn an effigy just to prevent him from invading once more. Can't blame anyone for going full hollow at this area with the constant magic spam and the Archdrake stunlocks amongst other things.
God I just did Shrine of Amana for the first time a few days ago, raised my BP to scary levels. It wouldn't even be *that* bad if it weren't for being able to fall into nothingness with little to no warning and the sheer number of ranged enemies present.
Buddy if you think if THAT is the "worst area in Soulsborne history", I suggest you stay FAR away from the optional challenge areas in the DLC. If something like Shrine of Amana is enough to make you rage, you won't last a second in those levels lmao

Alternatively plunge the lizard that you see when you look down the ladder like an absolute chad and go from there
In ds2 most the weapons work best with an infusion and if u dont run infusion run ring of blades
This is what Shrine of Amana does to a sane man.
