How do I emulate daphne games like space ace, dragons lair, etc...?
I have coinopsx card on my legends ultimate arcade that has a daphnne section with all games but would love it on my series x.
Hey! Followed all instructions set permissions etc and am still getting a cannot read content error when loading files and some games just crash retro arch. Games that are on my internal storage run fine just my USB. Thanks
I can't find my Games folder? I've looked everywhere. I'm on Dev mode, and everything on the E file is missing.

im having a issue where a message pops up saying “game disc location is on a removable drive, performance issues such as jittering and freezing may occur” and then boots me out of this particular game quickly, but the rest of the games are fine. i only noticed this on this newer usb stick i got because of more storage. is my usb not compatible or something?

I followed how to set this up for retail mode, but now, I'm setting up for DEV mode and the external hdd is not being read on PC...meaning PC can see the device, but I cannot find the drive under This PC to open up the folders...tried searching on internet, but nothing that can help. The drive was working fine for Retail Mode. Hope you can help. TIA!

Had this issue too, I had downloaded the ARM version instead of the x64 (read the available files for download).
Getting the x64 version worked/fixed the error

Im running the standalone versions for PPSSPP, Dolphin, XBXS2 and Xenia. Im also using RetroArch for NES, Super Nintendo, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, N64 and PS1. My question is which if these require BIOS?

I'm trying to use a 128gb USB 3.2 flash drive, it was formatted, NTFSS everything but my Xbox just doesn't recognize it.

The Xbox Media Tool program doesn't format the drive to the NTFS file system for me, had to do it manually on Windows.
he is correct it didnt format it to ntfs. probably better to use the old long way to get the drive ready.

If your stuff is still on it you chose media. If it isn't you chose games and have to start over.
Can I run emulators directly from usb drive in retail mode? I read that MS doesn't allow emulators anymore to be run in retail mode.

Sorry I've done everything that you've shown and still having issues with the latest dolphin emulator I'll set up the folders and no games load it stays blank I've used your recommendations. Latest retail mode update Feb 10 2023.
What is the drive letter your using to find your bios and game rooms? Are they showing up? Or not...
quick question can i use the same usb hard drive for actual non next gen games and the emulation files? like could i plug the hard drive in the series S let it set it up for games then just add the emulator stuff manually somehow?

Hi Everyone, I am having issues with finding the E drive under Dev mode. I formatted my USB with all instructions on this video but when trying to add Path for Xenia and Dreamcast Emulators. My USB is still not populating. Can anyone help me with this issue. Thanks so much :)
Try to format it again or verify the security permissions took effect with the manual method.
Extracted the xbox media file but when I try to open the exe it says cannot run on pc is this file going to need to be on the flashdrive to run the emulators couldn't I just format the thumb drive by right clicking and going through the properties

Sorry to bother you but i have a strange question, ive read online that you can no longer use an external hard drive in dev mode? Is that true? And if not do you just store the games on the internal drive? I really wanted to get an external hdd to save storage space

Does it matter speed wise that much when using non ssd external hdd?
Any mechanical drive will produce issues with HD texture packs and potentially lock up from time to time in my prior testing.

You can use anything that has over 200 megs read speed for optimal compatibility

I still can't get mine to work, I formatted my USB, Put it in Dev Mode, Had a separate game folder but it still says it's unwritable. I don't understand what I did wrong? Can you help me please. I'm going crazy here.
Use a different drive to test and make sure it is setting security permissions.
@@ArchadesGames I actually managed to get it up and running by using your USB Drive Setup extension. Now I just need to figure out how to get it run slightly smoother because now the only drawback is the slight lags that come with the FPS. Got any ideas?

The only problem i got or i think it was cause of the usb was that some games have like a little milisecond stutter when loading new enemies or maps
@@undeadhunter714 oh ok i think that my thumbdrive is just broken or the format wasnt done properly. i first did the format and then copied sonic 06 over extracted and after that the usb started being extremely slow and crashing windows explorer. i decided to do a format but windows explorer crashed again and corrupted the usb. now it says: enter a disk in drive F:.

That'd be a real hassle if you had to reformat every time when you just want to add a game or two.
No you don't have to format it every time you connect it. Sounds like your drive is corrupting itself.
Does the download tool only work on windows 10?
It should work on any windows version 7 and up.

This doesn't stop you from using it on anything compatible with NTFS
I’m still conflicted about emulating on my XSX - has anyone been banned or blocked by Xbox for emulating using Retroarch etc on a console? There seems to be some mixed messaging about it.
Just do it. Many people have installed Retroarch on retail with no issues including myself
If you publish things to push yourself or show it to someone else, don't be surprised
my account used to run an xbox 360 with a drive emulation called xk3y and i haven't been banned to this day don't always believe everything others claim i've been playing with the emulators for over a year and nothing has happened to this day
Just spend the $20 and get dev mode. Seems you’re more likely to be banned on retail mode. Or, I got myself a series s JUST for emulating. Nice and portable too.
